Public submissions will not be accepted. You must PM me your choice. Trust is key to this game.
So far I have received 9 submissions. I hope the other 23 are busy deliberating.
As a side prop, what percentage of submissions do you think will be share/steal?

About 14 share, 10 steal and 8 No reply.
I make it about 50/50 that you end up keeping all $200.
Quote: AxiomOfChoiceWhat? I thought you were going to eliminate Mission. Someone's gotta do it...
But Mission is a good, honest, hard-working guy who is going to give the money to orphans... Why would he choose to steal?

Fin, we are talking about MISSION 146, who has wormed his way up from secret vigilante to Administator.

Yeah, but it took him awhile to get there right?
Wait - he's been here less than 6 months? Shit. I'm screwed.

Quote: Mission146I will tell you guys that my strategy is very simple, you will all either continue to advance me or you will self-eliminate. I'm stealing, so you're gone anyway, don't even worry about that. For those of you who may meet me in the last round or two, if the price hasn't been chopped too many ways by then, I might share at that point, but if we're to the last round with six (or more) people, forget about it.
As far as the rest of you are concerned, I suggest that all of you share early or you're not going to be viewed as trustworthy in later rounds. If I run up against someone next round that stole this round, (assuming AyeCarumba doesn't go the MAD route) it's going to be the same thing, I'm eliminating you, so you decide whether or not I continue.
When we get to the later Rounds, if I'm paired up with some people who have not yet stolen, then we'll see.
I've already put myself out there, and Raleigh has as well. Splitting is the way to go. Unfortunately, someone needs to take out Mission146. We appreciate your sacrifice FinsRule. You're heroic action will be remembered in the songs, and stories we share in the mead hall for generations.
Of course, by examining the entrants list and survivors list, it would probably be easy to figure out, but...
Quote: DJTeddyBearDid it say anywhere that the way we act will be made public? I thought that there'd only be a list of survivors.

Not easy: deterministic. Either you both advance, one advances, or no one advances. In every case, you know who picked what. Since someone is going to be tracking it, why not just make it public? You would be fooling yourself if you thought you could hide that info.

The conversations leading up to the decision are what I find interesting. It is too bad that we cannot reveal what has been shared via PM. Maybe after the whole thing is done, we can agree to publish and dissect.
Quote: WizardThe current policy is that only the actual choices made by PM will be posted. However, anybody may waive their right to the confidentiality of PMs for purpose of the game.
Maybe we should just do all negotiating within this thread (for all to see) and only use PM's for split/steal decisions?

Funny how you publicly state that you think we should negotiate in the thread yet you refuse to answer my PM's about negotiating.

OK, what the hell, let's SHARE and see if we go beyond round2.
We have nothing to lose.
via PM. No, I won't answer any Exit Polling questions !

I said from the beginning that I would do whatever you want to do. If you are to steal then I'm going to take us both out, if you are going to share I will happily share and move along with you
Quote: DJTeddyBearDid it say anywhere that the way we act will be made public?
Yup, first page...
Quote: WizardYes, all decisions will be made public
So... you might want to consider my offer.
Quote: Wizard12 hours to go in round 1. 7 players have yet to submit their choices.
Less than 3 hour to go now. I predict 7 people choose steal.

Unless you sent your pm to the Wiz that says steal, and you are setting winmonkey up for a quick ouster.....
Player 1 | Choice | Player 2 | Choice |
---|---|---|---|
JohnnyQ | Split | paisiello | Split |
AxiomOfChoice | Steal | PlayYourCardsRight | Steal |
CrystalMath | Split | avargov | Split |
darnits | Split | miplet | Split |
DJTeddyBear | Steal | MonkeyMonkey | Split |
FinsRule | Split | Mission146 | Split |
MidwestAP | Steal | SOOPOO | Steal |

odiousgambit | Steal | strictlyAP | Steal |

rebelaccountant | No response | TIMSPEED | Split |
ShiftyRicky | Split | bigfoot66 | Split |
thecesspit | Split | WongBo | Split |
winmonkeyspit3 | Steal | MakingBook | Steal |
Here is the summary:
Split: 17
Steal: 14
No response: 1
Total: 32
So, of the actual responses the share rate was 54.8%. Interesting, most teams picked the same way. Here are the matchups totals:
Split-split: 7
Steal-stea:l 6
Split-steal: 2
No response: 1
Quote: avargovDang it!!! I was so ready to rant and rave about getting lied to this morning and screwed out of my riches! I am glad that my opponent is both a gentleman and a scholar! lol
Thank you. Now, we need to plot and lie together.
Team 1 | Team 2 |
---|---|
Mission146 + FinsRule | thecesspit + WongBo |
TIMSPEED | JohnnyQ + paisiello |
mwalz9 | avargov + CrystalMath |
DJTeddyBear | ShiftyRicky + bigfoot66 |
darnits + miplet | RaleighCraps + Ayecarumba |
For the sharing teams in round 2, the player listed first was randomly chosen to be the team leader. Only that player may submit the team response, but is encouraged to consider the wishes of the other player.
Deadline to sumbit round 2 responses shall be 8:00 AM, Thursday, Nov 15, Pacific time.
So, if I am reading this right, 10 of the original 16 'teams' are still alive.
I am assuming TIMSPEED's SPLIT vote won him the whole share since his foe did not vote.
Full share owners are:
DJTeddyBear
mwalz9
TIMSPEED
1/2 share owners are:
JohhnyQ - paisiello
CrystalMath - avargov
darnits - miplet
FinsRule - Mission146
RaleighCraps - Ayecarumba
ShiftyRicky - bigfoot66
thecesspit - WongBo
So, now my share to charity is now worth $10. Once again, I will be voting split, since $10 to charity is better than $0. And once again, may I remind my fellow players that STEALing from me, is like stealing money from a charity.
That changes my thinking and strategy.....
Quote: DJTeddyBearI must admit that I didn't understand the team concept until I read Mike's post about the Round 2 matchups.

Don't change.....keep stealing!
winmonkeyspit3 is too sharp, and would have none of it. RESPECT.
Can the PMing option be overided if both parties agree beforehand that their respective choices be selected randomly instead? i.e. can both parties pick thier balls (excuse the expression) without looking at the contents first?

No. I will only accept share and steal choices. If you choose randomly on your own end that is fine. It makes no difference to me how the choice is made, although I prefer an end with two steals so I can keep my money.
