So, in Detroit, a house is still cheaper than a tank of gas?

Can you factor in the INSURANCE rates in NJ and let us know what the weekly cost is ?

30 years of driving without accidents brings my rate to $700 a year

we are getting remarkably close to the lowest price ever for gas, inflation adjusted

Wall Street Journal has an article about other OPEC members really peeved at Saudis, saying their attempt to throttle other producers is an abject failure. OPEC meeting is coming up.

It hit $1.41 in Lafayette, IN today, and it hit that in Hendersonville, KY about a week ago, too.

Gas was regularly (gas wars every month or two) $0.249 in the early to mid seventies in ATL.
Could that be higher than inflated 1998 prices of $1.46 ? Maybe...., but I doubt it. Inflation had some serious ramifications back in those years. Bought my first home at something approximating 14% interest rate. My how the world changes in just a few years....

<edit> current mortgage at 3.37 I think, 15 year about to be paid off. I want to re-finance for another 15. Sparkles wants to be free and clear. I say, but Honey we need the itemized deductions ;-) The tax code is NOT set-up in the favor of recreational gamblers ;-(
