It's hard for there to be a fair fight when you're fighting fictitious people.Quote: MaxPenThat doesn't sound like a fair fight😂😂😃

"I totally have a girlfriend. You guys just don't know her. She lives in Canada."
...wait.

That was a good one Dux! Thanks for the chuckle.

Down 28 pounds.
I’d say those who chose lose 10, or lose 50 in the poll have no chance. Most likely the winner will be lose 30 or lose 40. Unless you consume too many holiday treats and bring the lose 20 voters back into it.
Quote: PokerGrinderI need to lose 15 more to hit my goal for the bets I made.
Boxers often dehydrate themselves down 15-20 pounds in just the 48 hours prior to a weigh-in.
Cheers.Quote: PokerGrinderI think that was not allowed when we made the bet but either way I wouldn’t do that to win the bet. I’ll either win or lose by actually losing the weight.
I reckon it will be close but with maybe a few fasting days that you'll succeed.
Remember that it's not hit target weight transiently before set date: It's '"be at or below target weight AT end date and time."
I’ve stagnated. Time to put up or shut up and we all know that I like to talk so...
Last week didn’t go well because I kept putting off working out. I worked out this morning and it was the longest workout in years. Time to kick my ass into shape.
Quote: PokerGrinderI fall into this spiral sometimes. When my depression gets bad I don’t work out and that makes my depression worse because the workouts help. So I keep spiralling until I get out of my funk. I worked out for 30 mins this morning and did 4 sets of squats and I feel so much better than yesterday.
I planned on working out today. But then a bunch of stupid stuff came up. So I'm sitting on my fat ass still. But I just finished the last stupid task. I think reading your post is the reason I'm getting up now to go to the gym instead of continuing to sit on my fat ass.

Why not just do on days you don't work out, don't eat. That would motivate you to work out and if you don't, by not eating you won't be adding any weight.
Quote: TigerWuA good habit to get into, when you wake up in the morning, do some push ups... don't even stand up or sit up. Just roll over out from under the sheets, hit the floor, and knock out some push ups. That way if your day turns to crap and you can't or won't work out, you can say, "at least I did some push ups this morning."
Not possible for me. I would have 200 pounds of dogs standing on me.
Don't let them stop you. That's just increased resistance! No pain, no gain! ;)Quote: DRichNot possible for me. I would have 200 pounds of dogs standing on me.

Seeing as you are in the Great White North, I can't help but wonder if the depression happens mostly in the winter. And if so, I wonder if you are aware of Seasonal Effective Disorder.

I am aware of it because a former girlfriend suffered from it. Maybe you already know of it and/or maybe it was just stupid for me to post it but I figured it was worthy of mentioning.
😥Quote: PokerGrinderI know of it but mine is just good old fashion depression. I’ve dealt with it for over 15 years along with really bad anxiety disorder.

I'm sure you know this, but eating the SAD (SCD) and lack of physical activity contribute a lot to this. Being overweight messes up your hormones. Etc.
So you're killing multiple birds with one stone.
That may not be your particular issue, but there are probably some “triggers” you could consciously avoid and prevent.
Quote: rxwineYou might look to ways to prevent sabotaging yourself. A good example is coming home tired and forgotten to have anything heathy on hand. Too tired to go shop, you just down something not so healthy.

I’m pretty good about having my meal prep done so that all I have to do is weigh out my portions and 5 minutes later meal is good to go.

Cheering for ya, pally boy. Home stretch. You can do it.
I honestly doubt I’ve ever gone a day in my life without eating.

Just wait until you have your first colonoscopy

With Cologuard you don't have to go thru that anymore.

Yes, but I am not referring to immigrants, just you Canadian Hoser's. I find that incredible that you haven't went a day without eating. I remember working on a programming project where I never left my bedroom for four days (yes, I had a bathroom in there) and bottled water).
Quote: DRichDo you people really find it difficult to go one day without eating? I'm pretty sure I do it once or twice a week without even realizing it.
I can go until about 4pm. Then I have to eat.
My real problem would be trouble sleeping after a full day of not eating
With a silver spoon no doubt.Quote: PokerGrinder

And now you're trying to shake that Silverspoon stigma by eating off the streets author old world countries.
But seriously, you've never been so sick you couldn't eat?
Dang it. Have some pies. I have big money at stake.Quote: PokerGrinder219.5 down 3.5 pounds this week.

Well Don't injure your health to win, but I will accept that you might decide to fast or even take laxatives as you approach the deadline.Quote: PokerGrinderOD it looks like you and my other wager are going to win. I’m about 10 pounds off with two weeks to go and I don’t think I’ll make it although I’ll still try. The downfall will be the 6 weeks where I gained 2 pounds. I’m still going to keep on with the weight loss even if I lose this bet.
Win or lose, you've certainly had some success and will hopefully benefit.
Maybe consider daily updates for the last few days.

Ten pounds in two weeks should be easy. When I wrestled we would lose10 pounds in one day. The goal is to win the bet, don't worry about your health.

If you want to win the bet, you can.
