I assume you have the time and money if you really want to get into good shape. Let's think about this, you have no real job, no kids, no full time BF and you probably live with mommy and daddy.
Assuming all that is true, get a gym membership and a personal trainer and spend a few months where you just concentrate on getting into shape and learning all new habits and then dedicate an hour or two a day for working out. Probably best to join some sport you really enjoy so it doesn't seem like work, but more like fun. You have no good excuse not to look how you want.
elliptical?? WHY? dont want to miss your favorite soap opera? You should be jogging outdoors and mountain biking.
Ya, not sure where you live. What area again? I will look it up.Quote: PokerGrinderWhen I saw you in May I was about 240 pounds. Mountain biking? Do you not understand where I live? The prairies are flat lol. I don’t like running, never have not sure why.
Then get a 10 speed or whatever it's called. "I don’t like running, never have not sure why." Because you are a lazy bastard. Other than a few messed up twisted people, who the F likes running? I'm sure there are people who have somehow convinced themselves they like running.
I'm not sure how many calories sitting behind your computer or phone typing on the forum sheds, but here is a hint.... IT'S NOT MANY!!! It seems that you are not serious about getting into shape. You will talk about it and do it half hardheartedly for 3 weeks and then you will be back to your normal self making a bunch of excuses why you havent hit your goals or whatever.
It's actually pretty amazing the differences you'll see in just 1-2 weeks from doing 100 push-ups, sit-ups, and squats per day. Seriously, you'll see real results. Just try to make this a daily habit and even on days you don't get a full workout in, you'll have added some lean muscle and burned a couple calories. Push-ups I swear are the best thing you can do to "sculpt" a chest =P. Just don't see better results from other things.

Um... if we weren’t friends I’d think you were an as*shole lol.
I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, everything is flat. How am I not serious? I’ve been at this for two days and I’ve worked out both days and been eating healthy food. You feel like making a wager Axel?
Quote: RomesAnother very easy thing to do that I've recommended many of friends over the years. Even if you don't workout for the day, just do 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, and 100 body weight squats per day. Just do sets of 25, so to do 1 set of all 3 it literally takes like 2-3 minutes (the time of a commercial during a TV show). If you simple watch one 30 minute show and do 1 set of each during each commercial, you can knock out the three 100's by the end of ONE SHOW.

I don’t think you understand how out of shape I am currently. 5 minutes on the elliptical then 10 push-ups repeating both 3 times took everything out of me. 100 of anything at this point makes me laugh.

Umm us fatties (not you PG) would literally die if we did that. I will try tonight and see if I can even do 100 push ups. I will take the no at -800

So you do what you can. I can't do 100 pushups in a day, let alone in a row, but get down and try doing one every commercial break. It will burn calories and it won't take long at all until you can do a couple. Alternate it with thirty seconds of high stepping, or even goose stepping.
One thing that becomes very obvious when you are around older people is that the ones who are active live and age better. A sedentary lifestyle has to be as bad for you as smoking.

Oh I definitely fit into the fatty category right now, that’s why I started this thread. I did 3 sets of 10 last night over 20 minutes and I couldn’t have done anymore after that.

That's way too much work.
You have to get off the couch, then on your knees, do a pushup, get back on your knees, stand up and then sit on the couch again.
I'm exhausted just thinking about it.
Yesterday I went for a 4 mile walk with some friends because there was a Pokémon Go event (I’m a dork) so I figured that counted as my exercise for the day.
Today I had a very lazy day and almost skipped working out multiple times. I was laying in bed watching Brooklyn 99 on Netflix and 3 times said one more episode. I eventually kicked myself out of bed and worked out. I did 4 sets of 5 min elliptical and 10 squats (20 mins and 40 squats total) and now I’m exhausted but happy I did it.

You probably burned an extra calorie or two just thinking about it. A small step in the right direction. Just sit on the floor, streamline the process.
U mad bro? Did you expect love and encouragement? "You can do it PG, it's okay if you fail, blah blah blah" Sorry, not from me. Don't talk about it, just go do it. I just heard a bunch of excuses. Not sure how you will lose a bunch of weight and get into shape without running or biking. Perhaps you can watch some Richard Simmons videos.Quote: PokerGrinderUm... if we weren’t friends I’d think you were an as*shole lol.

An entire 2 days, well holy hell, it's a lock. When should we expect you on the cover of men's health?
Take some of that anger and use it to get into shape. Don't take it out on a bag of camel popcorn.
I don't really bet on weight loss schemes even though it's probably plus EV under the right curumstances in most cases. Talk to SooPoo, I hear he's a gluten for punishment.
Quote: billryanCool. Let's see you keep that pace up for the next fifty weeks.
I don’t want to keep up that pace because then I’d be negative pounds lol. The first couple weeks should have a higher weight loss because I weigh more.

That would be considered dedication.
Quote: billryanSlacking off already?. The first month is rough.
This makes no sense Bill.
Quote: PokerGrinderOne week update: I lost 7 pounds last week and I’m starting to get used to the exercising every day.
Just some random musings...
I've gotten soft af living the sedentary life, and while I don't eat well, I can just stop eating. And I have. And it's made no difference whatsoever.
I wouldn't want to say anything that would discourage diet, because it's important for myriad reasons besides just being fat. But gd does physical effort matter. It's positively imperative, and at least in my case, involves not one single boring "workout" whatsoever. I manage just by being active, and no, I don't mean needing a full MMA regimen, either. Gardening. That's a good one. Doesn't seem like much until I got injured, then it became apparent that it's like 1-2hrs of planking every time I do it. I can do about 0.5 squats before my knee gets all "et tu, Brute?", so I don't do squats. But I do pick crayfish. For hours, sometimes. And you know what crayfish picking is? Squats. My hams are blown out right now, and it was 100% spiritually relaxing pleasure doing it.
A lot of dumb s#$% around the house is no different. Don't be a sodding wanker with those gd leaf blowers waking up thirty generations of dead. Put down your pu$$y and grab a rake. Don't spend $30 just because Swiffer came out with no-wet static wipes. A bucket of soap water weighs 30 pounds; get a rag, get down on the floor, and do it.
You wanna get cut, eschew convenience. Ever see a fat Mennonite?

Also lots of water weight the first few weeks
4 sets of 10 squats
4 sets of 30 second planks
Stamina is getting better by the day.
So in the long term this is a bit more correct, but this is actually a bit of a myth. Someone who has the weight to lose can consistently lose X lbs per week. You shouldn't naturally see your weight loss go down until you get much more trim, and at that point you need to push yourself harder and really laser focus your diet, but you can still keep the lbs coming off. Since I'm getting "near-ish" my goal weight admittedly I've been losing weight but MUCH slower now. Even though I'm near goal weight if I wanted to lose 7 lbs next week, in a HEALTHY way, I absolutely could. It would be a rough week of exactly 1450 calories and working out every day, but hell I bet I could lose 10 lbs next week. Basically, with you being on week 1, you should easily be able to CONSISTENTLY lose 7-10lbs per week for a month or two EASILY to come.Quote: PokerGrinderI don’t want to keep up that pace because then I’d be negative pounds lol. The first couple weeks should have a higher weight loss because I weigh more.
Seriously what you put in is what you get out for 90% of your weight loss journey. Keep smashing it and watch the lbs keep falling off!

I don’t know how far I walked but I didn’t get any shinies for the first 2 hours. Got 2 the last hour and got a third from an egg.
Pokémon Go is great for exercise.
I am going to Cuba on Sunday for a week so the next weigh in will be Wednesday the 28th.
Quote: PokerGrinderI didn't update this yesterday because I was on a time out. I only lost 1.5 pounds which was disappointing since I worked out 5/7 days and stuck to the food plan. My friend who is outlining my workouts for me said I probably gained some muscle weight.

Cuba doesnt have scales?

That might be the post of the month.
Don't worry, they all weigh less than you do. IIRC LS was some small petite hot blond(a few members were all sprung over her. "Axel don't be mean to the hot chick, you will run her off!"), you can probably juts sit on her.Quote: PokerGrinderThat’s not a fair fight, Nathan is like 12 people.
Quote: PokerGrinderHave you seen the video of Nathan? Nathan weighs more than 240 easily.
As the Ancient Hawaiians used to say, "Lest ye judge thee with log in his own eye rather than the speck of dust in his glass house."
Also, I haven't seen any updates today on your exercises. Get to it, chop chop!!
Also I have no idea what that meant lol.
yeah but I think it's possible you have one or two IQ points on her.Quote: PokerGrinderHave you seen the video of Nathan? Nathan weighs more than 240 easily.

How strong? 🤔🙄
Only asking because you're implying it is without certainty.😀

Yea let's go with that
Wait, what, you play Pokemon? That's like Nathan's second favorite game, just after sockpuppeteer.Quote: PokerGrinderA sign that I’m still a kid at heart?
On a serious note, what do you think about that big Pokemon card sale the other day? I mean, I knew they had some value, but, I didn't know it was anywhere in the neighborhood of that.
I'm curious to what the original cost of those cards were or how hard they were to obtain the rare ones.
