Loved that show as a kid.

Too late. I already bought the straight/box ticket 146 and lost. :/ 990 showed up. Well, I'm looking at the number 4165 right now, so.... ;) I also have a strong feeling that 1506 is coming up very soon although 1506 is usually a losing number, and I usually avoid playing this number like the plague,(Did a very recent Lottery Number check on it and it hasn't popped up in over three YEARS. O.O Odd that it is a 4 digit number that are all different and isn't like 0000) but I will try it tomorrow. :)

Yes, every number is usually a losing number.

Not 990 though. It just showed up!

Invest in soap dishes. Cost less than a penny each and you can easily get a buck a pop for them by going door to door.

But 1506 hasn't popped up in over three YEARS . That's really weird.

To what extent are you actually buying these numbers in the lottery? You'll be mad as hell for every one that you forecast that wins, if you hadn't bought it.
You are throwing out SOOOOOoooo many numbers, that it must be costing you rather a lot if you are buying them.
Is this fascination with the lottery a fairly recent thing?
Is having this thread to post to somehow encouraging you to spend more on the lottery?
You do realise that you could be developing a dangerous lifetime addiction.

What makes you think any of this is real?
Good question. In truth, I expect it's not.Quote: MaxPenWhat makes you think any of this is real?
But you have to give credit to the person behind Nathan's character for portraying her very consistently and persistently.
Nathan may just be a character in a mind-game, but so are we all. She may be that same person in what we laughably refer to as real life.
OnceDear, the character wants only the best for Nathan the character in whatever plane of reality she exists.

The lottery was the first game I analyzed with math. I figured out when the little lotto went +EV including tax implications... Then I played...
Of course it didn't work because a 1 in 575k top line is hard to hit...
Once I figured out lotto wasn't going to pay, I stated looking at games with more reasonable house edges and lower hit frequencies.
Still though, I think lottery was one of the first steps I took to bring me to where I am today.
I could see the argument being made that I have a dangerous addiction.
and the other questions.... ?Quote: NathanI'm only spending like $5 or $10 on the Lottery Numbers. :)
When you buy multiple tickets multiple rows of numbers appear on the same ticket up to 6 rows of 5 numbers. That's 30 numbers on one ticket.
I discovered a feature called easy match that you play for an extra dollar. In that feature, the lottery terminal picks numbers at random and if any of the numbers you pick match those you are an instant winner.
I thought if I got 30 of 39 numbers covered on one ticket that I had a pretty solid shot of winning easy match...
As it turns out, someone had figgued that one out and when you play easy match the terminal will not print multiple picks on a single ticket.
Still though, variance shined on me that day and I took a $3 profit to the McDonald's for a breakfast sandwich.
It does have a strange fascination, doesn't it.Quote: prozemaShe doesn't like answering hard questions. Still, I enjoy this thread.
While watering the lawn today, I noticed the there is house in my street with house number 8. there is no number 9 and mine is number 3. Still trying to figure out how best to capitalise on that, bearing in mind it's a street with 8 houses and the nearest shop selling lottery is 2 miles away.
It's an omen, I tell ya.
Anyhow, here are the winning numbers for tonight's UK National Lottery.
I won't be buying a ticket, so those UK members who want to cock a snook at me, fill yer boots. *
11, 17, 19, 25, 33, 46 bonus number 31

Having this thread doesn't encourage me to play more Lottery tickets. That's how about how much I usually play even before this thread. :)

Wouldn't you want to buy a ticket considering that 5 of your numbers you predicted last time came up and you didn't play? You would have won $2,219!
Not a chance.Quote: NathanWouldn't you want to buy a ticket considering that 5 of your numbers you predicted last time came up and you didn't play? You would have won $2,219!
The ticket is £2 and the probability of getting 5 numbers ( ignoring the bonus ball ) is about 1 in 55,000 .So, fair odds, they should pay by £110,000 for such a success. So they are incredibly short changing me and that's just unforgivable.
I'm not inclined to wager where the payout is so stacked against me.
They skew the prizes fund by massively underpaying the small winners so they can have massive jackpot prizes like £15,000,000
House edge is about 47% which means £0.94 of my £2.00 ticket price goes towards prizes.
It also pisses me off that when queuing to pay for my groceries that there are 5 idiots holding up the queue buying lottery products.
Or to put it another way. It's a mug's game. I'm surprised that many members on this forum find lotteries to be value for money.
Mind you, it's tax free in the UK.
Step 2 is using math properly.
But I didn't get £2219 did I? If I'd bought a ticket it probably wouldn't have even won. Just like if I buy a ticket tonight, it probably won't win and if it does win, they'll rob me blind.Quote: NathanOnce Dear, $2,219 would have given you 1,110 times your bet! We have people getting ecstatic when they put $2 in a slot machine and when $500! And that's only 250 times their bet! Your bet would have given you 1,100 times your bet or over 5 times a 250 times bet!
Quote: NathanWell, my numbers failed again, but good news. 39 Pick 2 showed up and if you took my advice, you won $25! :D
Will you refund the money lost on your number picks that don't show up? Those picks might have some value then.

Oh hum. I hope some of our UK members bought those numbers in tonight's draw.
5 numbers correct again and I got the digits crossed on the bonus number
The prize for 5 numbers tonight was a pathetic £412.00 I'm gld I never bothered. What a rip-off.

Math Problem
Twice in just a few days OD has predicted 5 of 6 base lotto numbers. He posted at
July 11th, 2018 at 5:30:39 AM Vegas time, which is 1:30 pm GMT, so he's not even putting us on. Unless I'm just missing the gaff.
What are the odds of him doing this?
Yes, I know it's simple multiplication. I'm just calling further attention to the fact he's done it TWICE.
That's insane, OD.

I believe its's approx 1 in 144,414 for each draw.
Some guy on the internet explains probability
So, doing it twice in a row is approx 20,855,686,670
But if I'd been stupid enough to buy a £2 lottery ticket each time, They would have only paid me 2219+412=£2631
That's a pathetic payout and I'm glad I never bought a lotto ticket in my life.
No offence taken.Quote: NathanLet it be known that I told this Mugg(Playful teasing, not an insult, ;) Once Dear to play his predicted tickets today, he did not and he lost
Seeing how low the payouts are, compared to the odds, I'd have to be a moron to buy a ticket for next Saturday's draw.
I don't get out of bed for less than 5 grand

It really is good to have Mission back! :D Everyone play 146 for two weeks in honor of Mission being back! :D On a side note, I am playing 4165 and 1506 Pick 4 and will try 146, 933, 934, 333, 963 for tonight's drawings! :D

I am refusing to play 146 for two weeks, in honor of mission because he respects math. With the money I could have got lotto tickets with I might get an inexpensive haircut. Seems like a practical thing to do in the middle of summer, and mission also likes practical things. I might tip the barber $2, 1.46 rounded up, or $3, 1.46x2 rounded up. LMAO;)

146 at 2 drawings at $1 each is only $28! And you get $80 if 146 decides to show up to say hi. You know what? Let's make the pot sweet again. If 146(Box or straight does not show up within 2 weeks, I will donate $50 to the WOV Spring Fling unless something serious happens to me that prevents me from paying. ;)
