Major rain here for the next 2 days, maybe 3 in total. It's storming right now there's non-stop thunder and it's pouring. I'm laying on my bed staring out the window and having a pretty good time. It's so dark the street lights are on. If the West Coast is wondering where the rain is come to the Midwest. It's here.

Wow, 3 inches in two days is a lot. Vegas usually gets about 3 inches a year.

Yep, flood warnings everywhere. The last time the creek flooded it came almost up to the barn. Luckily before I had the barn built in 1993 I had a bulldozer come in and raise the ground up a foot where the barn was going to go.

113 Degrees Forecast in Portland as 'life-threatening' Heat Looms

Yet another reason I could add to my list of never living in Portland. Poor homeless people. The humanity, the humanity. I read almost no air conditioners in Portland, the high in June is usually in the seventies. Good time to take a truck load of window units in there and make a killing.

If the temperature is in the 70's I would want a heater.

They have Portland at 113 degrees for today and 118 degrees for tomorrow. And nobody in Portland has air conditioning. I won't be going to Portland.

Hell, I'm ecstatic.

My home is also fully air conditioned.

Yeah it's hot here in stumptown today but the humidity isn't high (16%) so the heat is more tolerable.

I remember flying from PDX to Phila. one summer, arrived at dusk, ninety-four degreees, ninety-five percent relative humidity.

Never again.

I'll put up with rare weather events such as this in exchange for a typically moderate climate.

there are many news articles out there implying that this is due to climate change and it will not be a rare event

obviously, you're not among those who believe that

not trying to start a debate here about climate change - I guess that would be classified as political - even though it's really only a scientific issue

good luck with your weather prediction
