Quote: IbeatyouracesI'd like to thank one of the Detroit casinos for the suite tickets to tonight Boston/Detroit hockey game.
Did you win them in a drawing or comped?
Those suites look like they are high. Was it hard to see the game or did you just feast on all the suite food?
Why do they have a drop off day care or something?Quote: Mission146Simmons Farm is also a great place to take the kids in the Fall.

Got a call a couple of weeks ago asking if I wanted to go. Of course I said yes. So, I'd say comped. The view was actually pretty good. The food was ok. Cheap burgers, hot dogs, etc. FREE BEER!! Last year at The Joe. Thankfully Boston won 1-0 because I can't stand the Illitch family. :-D

Soaring Eagle casino does for the die hard degenerates!
It should look like their cat did it. Shouldn't be hard; everything looks like the cat probably did it. Those must be some big bags if you can fit 2 people in each one...

PS: at my grandmother's house, a mason jar served as the chamber pot. There was a toilet in the old house, but it was a bit of a march for upstairs bedrooms

That might make the news. People with 2 and 4 year old go to strip club in limo.
Ok more specific, any way to get a deal on a round trip Limon for 6 to harrahs?

Aren't you the guy whose Mom/family had some insane amount of RC's in the bank for a while there
I can give you my contact info for my Harrah's host if you like. He's good people. Might be able to help.

Can you use points for limo? I am not sure if we have insane amount but we currently have 102k between the 2 of us.
I don't know if a host would care about helping a shlup like me with a cool 2800 tier credits this year. If I end up with founders card and become diamond, not sure if that would matter with my skill measly 2800 tier from 2016. I don't have anymore cet trips planned this year.
I had thought about calling the concierge.

Don't be so cheap, it's like $70 for limo with champaign and a Rose that goes from airport and travels the strip.

Not cheap, just poor ;-)
The shotgun came out of hiding and I assumed a position with good cover and concealment (cover to protect; concealment to hide from view) to make sure what I thought might be happening (a repo down there) or if these guys were looking for targets of opportunity.
All ended well after threats of gun violence and lots of law enforcement showed up. The repo guys stopped in front of our house to strap the card down; the dogs went crazy. All back to quiet now...

Otherwise please use Presidential Limousine, run by a friend of the Late Poker-Blogger featured in one of my long-ago threads. (Described by JimMorrison as 'the unluckiest broad in Vegas').
What percent of customers just wouldn't notice this extra charge?
Bought tickets to Rock of Ages at the Rio. Girl selling the tickets shows me 'booth seating' option. My GF likes sitting in booths as opposed to chairs, and shows me a map of where our booth is in the theater. Its a booth of 5 so we of course will be seated with 3 others. When we get to theater usher takes us to our seats which are two CHAIRS in front of the booth which seats 3 people. Ugh.....
Ate at Guy Fieri restaurant which had the "Trash Can Nachos" which has been getting publicity. We order them with one main course to split. The waitress asks (recommends) that we get a 'mini' order of the nachos. After lots of back and forth we agree, and get an extra appetizer instead. The small order of those nachos was HUGE. We maybe ate 1/2 of them, and they were great. Highly recommend the restaurant.
Rhodes Ranch is a really nice golf course for your average duffer.
Axelwolf is a really interesting guy. He bought me and my GF drinks at the Wynn. I love his AP stories which I can't repeat on a public forum. I hope he can find an AP opportunity here in Niagara Falls/ Buffalo so I can buy him dinner.
Quote: SOOPOOJust got back from Vegas. Had a prepaid car rental from Payless. Checked my credit card statement. Noticed an approximately $30 charge from Payless. I had pre paid months ago. Called Payless, gave them my name and Rental number, and asked what the charge was for? Agent tells me not to worry as they are crediting my credit card that amount. Seems like I am not the 1st (or thousandth?) person that got this phantom charge.

I recently got cable service with DVR. The installation fee ($75) was waived.
Except a couple weeks later, I check my bill and it is itemized on the bill. I call them, and they immediately remove it.
However, whatcha you wanna bet these things are done on purpose always getting a few people an extra charge who didn't notice it creeped on their bill?
There's no nachos worth $18 unless the come with a supermodel.Quote: GWAEMy wife really wants to go there for the nachos. I saw they were $18 and all the way over in the Rio.
The usher sat us front row center.
I thought "What a nice guy" until I realized the real reason: we'd been noticed in line and selected as the "target" for Brad when he was doing his routine.
I enjoyed being the target, but many might not.

I'm thinking that it's a shame that there may be people in other parts of the world who think the Bills won 4 straight Superbowls in the 90's! ;)
BTW, I have a buddy who went to Va Tech who owns a 2005 Hokies' ACC Championship T-shirt. Except FSU beat Va Tech to win the ACC that year!
Yeah that's a dirty little secret that donated clothes go to Africa and not given to people living in America in need. They print both sides depending on the game as it goes on. I think it's pretty much common knowledge. I think an error shirt like your buddies would definitely be interesting.Quote: JoemanI heard a story that typically Championship shirts are printed up for both sides in a major championship game, so that the winning team can put them on right after the game. Then, the losing team's "championship" gear gets sent overseas to people in need of clothing.

Never been interested in such, but if you are, there is something you should consider: At my last insurance renewal, there was a disclosure insert noting that the vehicle is not covered if it is being used for such things as Uber.

That is definitely a consideration. Will have to check my policy to see if there is a disclaimer.
I recall seeing on lyts site that they provide 100k insurance. I wonder if that is why.
One of my best friends drives part time for Uber and his wage fluctuates based on the time of day. According to him driving in the evenings when people are drinking are his most lucrative times to work. He estimates that he nets about $20 an hour after expenses but he only drives about 10 hours a week.
In other words, he skims the cream in a market that consists of cream-skimming what would otherwise be fares for established taxi companies.Quote: DRichAccording to him driving in the evenings when people are drinking are his most lucrative times to work. On lyts site they show if you work 10 hours then you will.make approx 200 a week. I was thinking about doing 4 or 5 hours on Friday and ssturdy night. 10pm till 3am should be killers.
Taxis in pittsburgh are horrible an expensive. I am guessing lyft people are making a killing around here.

Yes, he believes patrons deserve the option of supporting a lower cost small business over a large corrupt organization.
Quote: lilredroosterI drove a taxi for 4 years a long time ago but I'm sure it hasn't changed much. There is no cream. It's hard work. Difficult, demanding passengers. If you drive at night there is danger. Traffic is insane and gridlock can happen at any time. Tremendous wear and tear on your vehicle. Cops love to hassle you. Only thing that's good right now is gas is down in price. A lot of drivers want to drive during the day to avoid the danger of night. More competition. More down time. Rent a cab from the big cab companies and they'll squeeze you. Uber is probably better in that regard.
I don't know a lot about the taxi business other than what I hear from the drivers in Las Vegas. The two biggest complaints I hear is that you are not allowed to own or rent the cab, you are strictly an employee. The most common complaint I hear is that they are mandated to work 12 hour shifts. I have no idea how much a cab driver makes in salary and tips, but I know it is not a job I would ever want to do.
