Djatc: "Is there fast internet or nah? I don't give a f*** about the damn house, IS THERE FAST INTERNET HERE OR NOT?"
That reminds me of when I would watch those House Hunter shows sometimes. The people would be looking at a house, and they would get to the bathroom, and they would be like, "I don't know about this house... the bathroom is too small."
And I would think, "What the f*** are these people doing in their bathrooms where they need all this space?" Whenever I go in a bathroom I'm either sitting down or standing in one place. Why on earth do you need a huge bathroom taking up valuable floor space?
Quote: RigondeauxThis is why people think 9/11 was staged. I don't think so, but I do think it was ruthlessly exploited by Bush, Cheney, Clintons, etc. It was one of the best things ever to happen to them.
i was working at Borders Books in 1996 when a new book by Robert McNamara came in. He was one of the main architects of the Vietnam War as Secretary of Defense. in his book "In Retrospect" he stated that the Vietnam war was a mistake. and he was very sorry about that. as many as 3 million people died as a result of the war including civilians (official estimate from Vietnam in 1995) and he's very sorry about his mistake. oh, gee whiz bobby, thanks for that. don't worry about it. everybody makes mistakes.

I know these people are backwoods terrorists and therefore complete f***ing morons, but you'd think at some point someone in their chain of command would stop and think, "Wait a minute... we haven't accomplished a damn thing since 9/11."
They knocked down the WTC, and we just built it right back up.
They keep suicide bombing random places, or going on shooting sprees, and it doesn't stop anyone from living their lives.
They can't even take over their own countries, and can barely hold on to various towns and cities for a few months at a time.
They HAVE to know they aren't even going to come close to winning whatever war it is they think they're fighting.
So, so dumb.
Obama called them "junior varsity," and people gave him flak for that, saying ISIS was a bigger threat. But both parties are wrong -- ISIS and islamic terrorists aren't a big threat, and they're not even junior varsity. They've barely made it to little league tryouts.

so much internet chatter re negativity about the jews. how about the christians. did the christians ever do anything bad? i didn't read anything about that. i wonder why. i'm waiting patienty to read somebody's post lecturing me on how wonderful all of the christians are. because you hear a lot of negativity about jews, muslims, latinos, blacks, etc. but almost nothing negative about the christians. they must all be really good people. every last one of them.

Beats me. I'd suggest you do this at your favorite casino.
Again, if you choose The Venetian... FOUR hour sessions, not three. Sorry about that, but IF you choose the rich man's playground don't waste your time with three hour sessions. The might not see you at four hours but they sure won't see you at only three. Thats just the type of plae it is. They look down on people who arrive by the airport shuttle.
CET is often felt to be adverse to table games and favor slot players.
I'd email a host after you wire the money. Just to inform him of the wire transfer you made and your arrival ETA, etc. He will probably greet you on arrival and perhaps send a limo to the airport to meet your flight, hence the email that gives your travel times.
TI would like your action. Sams World would. Tuscany? I've not been there in a long time but they would do well by you. Silverton and The M if you like Siberia.
Downtown has changed so much, I'd have no idea at all but always have liked that 777Brew Pub so that is always a strong plus in any voting. Main Street Station.

Good song, but for me it is forever linked with the following tragic situation of two Romeo/Juliet high schoolers:
Rich, bad boy shipped out of state to the Pac NW; he met a gifted, talented girl.
They fell in love, but her parents and his guardians disapproved; he had ongoing criminal and behavioral issues, very oppositionally defiant.
Rather than separate it appears they made a suicide pact and were together in his car when he deliberately ran off the road into a big tree at high speed, killing both instantly.

Of course this happens at Tropicana. I haven't been to the AC version but many of their other locations are just so poorly managed (which is sometimes a good thing). My brother had an incident years ago like this that scared me into taking the stairs when I can. Stairs are definitely -EV because of the types of people one comes across in stairwells. Ever notice the orange crash barrels at bridge pillars and the like? Obviously, you want to be on their shoulders when it hits for your best chance.

If it's a smaller office building, or someplace with like 15 floors and only 1 or 2 elevators, OK.

I take the steps anywhere that I can. I usually have a max 3 floors though.
My uncle was at a hospital about a month ago and took the stairs. He ended up running into Crosby that was there for evaluation on bis concussion. I am betting he takes them to avoid running into people since no one takes the steps.

For awhile I was doing a kind of interval training while at hotels. Jogging up the stairs to the top or upper floors then taking the elevator down then doing it again if I could.
Had to stop for a couple reasons, one being, sometimes I would get off the elevator on the bottom floor. A woman would get on, see me getting off, then sometimes I would appear again on her floor again as she was getting off.
Since it didn't make a lot of sense unless you knew what I was doing it would be somewhat startling. Especially if I was already standing there when her elevator arrived. Could also be the gag, and handcuffs I was carrying.
Security procedures have changed a lot, that's also played a big factor.

Incorrect. You are better off jumping up and down constantly. That way you have a 50-50 chance of being up in the air when you hit. While the benefits are arguable, it certainly can't hurt.

If you're in a falling elevator, you're supposed to either brace yourself against the handrail with your knees bent, or lie flat on your back.

I do need to calm down lately cause these people along with slot attendants, player club employees, front desk people... etc etc are driving me nuts lol. Perhaps a few month break is what is needed, I've been hitting it really hard the last 14 months.
It's a strange phenomenon. I stopped watching espn a long time ago and I've heard a lot of similar complaints. I don't know any guys who like them saturating the channel with women, almost none of who know what they are talking about (though in fairness, many of the men don't either). My best guess is that they want to bring in women viewers. Also why they promote WNBA, despite the fact that a Sheriff Lobo rerun would get ten times the ratings of a WNBA game. They think it will cultivate long term female fans. I'm not so sure.
It's happening on the radio too. That's even worse, since it's just an audio medium.
On the other hand, the shift to a gossip station about sports celebrities is what most men seem to want. You'd think it would be a generational thing, but playing poker, the older guys are just as bad. Love to talk about the personal lives of athletes, who they date, what X said about Y, and pass judgement on it all.

Sure, and when you see that mushroom cloud, be sure to duck and cover.
Quote: billryanSure, and when you see that mushroom cloud, be sure to duck and cover.
Actually, duck and cover is not a bad response.
Assume you see a mushroom cloud.
If it looks like the images we usually see, taken from great distance, then you the viewer are probably sufficiently far enough away not to be affected by the blast.
So long as the prevailing winds blow away from you, radiation wouldn't be an immediate problem, either.
If an elevator does fall, it impacts industrial strenth coiled springs... you don't go splat. It won't be fun but it won't be unrecognizable body parts either.

So which is it? Do you cover in place or run away from the approaching radiation?
Quote: billryanSo which is it? Do you cover in place or run away from the approaching radiation?
You duck and cover, hoping the blast range doesn't include you, then hope the prevailing wind blows the radiation in a different direction.

Anecdotally, when Mt. St. Helens had its major eruption, we viewed it from a spot maybe fifteen or so miles away, and weren't even thinking how bad it would have gotten for us had the wind shifted and blown the ash and smoke our way.
Quote: billryanSure, and when you see that mushroom cloud, be sure to duck and cover.
I will, since it's a demonstrably effective countermeasure depending on one's distance from the epicenter of the explosion.
