I see lots of people suggest that people are the number one problem on the planet, but the minute I suggest they lead by example and off themselves, they get all offended. I guess other people are the problem, it's never them apparently

And again, most *Republicans* acknowledge climate change. That's both elected politicians and the general population at large. Those denying climate change are a minority of extremists -- even most Republicans don't agree with them.

oxymoron, the climate is constantly

I believe the term 'global warming' was replaced a few years ago when the damn thermometers didn't cooperate. 'Global Climate Change' is so much easier to work your news stories around. Hotter, colder, wetter, drier, windier, snowier, or no snow at all, it's easy to blame it on 'manmade' 'Global Climate Change'. And truthfully, the 'times they are a changing'. Keep your powder dry, stock up on canned green beans, get a water filter.

Well, that's because you're divorced from reality. Both terms have been in use for decades because, as anyone with even a cursory understanding of the issue knows (or could figure out from the self-explanatory nature of the words), the two terms refer to two separate, distinct phenomena. Global warming is the process of the globe heating up. Climate change is the disruption of the climate that results from the warming. It's a rather simple distinction. When deniers insist that the term was changed for nefarious purposes, they unwittingly reveal a great deal about their lack of understanding. (more)

Always amazed how liberals are so concerned about what may or may not happen 100's of years from now but refuse to see $19 Trillon in debt being left to today's kids as a problem. Perhaps it's again because they see GW/CC as an opportunity to push their political agenda. While cutting the debt would take sacrifice and hard cuts, which doesn't fit with the victim mentality they need to thrive.

I'll admit it, but that doesn't make it real. So the majority is always right? Looks like it's time to get rid of Obamacare.

And you still didn't answer why you are so concerned about it. Is it one of those Earth-Wind-whatever type things and a higher meaning in the world? I just believe anyone that is concerned about future generations should be more concerned about the debt. It's real and easy to see what it will do to today's youth.

If facts are important to the right, why are they favoring Trump?

Most of the facts him about don't check out. He's probably not worth what he says. He won't release his Tax records. Plenty of people have disputed his dealings as told by him -- he is the good guy and the other people were wrong or misguided. He's held multiple views on everything. He's said he's not been bankrupt, or has he? When his business fail, but not his fault. He deferred himself from Vietnam -- and the circumstances are sketchy as well. Other than that, it's all crystal clear.

Did I miss anything? Probably. What does check out? He's rich, has a family and had a TV show.

From your source, the results from the Pew study do not back up that a majority of Republicans accept that the Earth is warming:

“Opinions of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents divide into four roughly equal size groups: 23% say there is solid evidence of global warming and it is mostly caused by human activity; 19% say warming exists but is due to natural patterns; 25% see no solid evidence and say it is just not happening; 20% say there is no solid evidence but not enough is known yet.”

The George Mason study dares not use the word “warm” or its variants, probably because it is too busy coming up with messaging subheads like these:

“Republicans Prefer Clean Energy1 as America’s Energy Future”
“The Perceived Benefits of Clean Energy Outweigh the Costs”
“A Majority Think Climate Change is Happening and Support an American Response to the Issue”
“Elected Leaders are Perceived as Unresponsive to Respondents’ Views about Climate Change”

That so-called majority, drawn from a whittled-down cohort, was 52 percent. That means that applying the “extremist” epithet to at least 48 percent of Republicans. That does not sound anywhere approaching objectivity.

The New York Times does not address directly what percentage of its Republicans believe in global warming, but comes close to the 50 percent mark as supporting government action vis-a-vis the topic.

I would consider just about everything about Trump being an outlier. It's like predicting weather having never heard of El Nino. It would be inaccurate to use a regular model.

Very good point. What's even more amazing is that conservatives aren't concerned by it. Most of them tend to still support Republicans even after 40 years of being even more liberal spenders than the Democrats.

Michigan's primary is next Tuesday.

I'm considering voting for Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio (whichever one is closest to Trump in the Michigan polls).

I feel like this chaos is good for the Dems... And if Trump can't get enough delegates before the convention, even better.

So confusing. In 2012 Mitt Romney praised
Trump to the roof for all the things that he
dissed him for today. In 2012 Romney
loved all the things that Trump said about
the economy and China and world affairs.
Trump hasn't changed at all, so why has
Romney changed. Sounds like he's just

It's not so much the technical aspect -- as when it gets to that point you've got a real potential total breakdown if the military becomes at odds with the Commander and Chief.

I didn't think the media could really make Donald Trump look more crass than he usually is at some point, but I have to admit CNN delivered with this opening:

Quote:

(CNN) The Republican presidential race got dirty Thursday night. Donald Trump opened the GOP debate here by boasting about the size of his genitals.

They make it sound like it might have been in his opening statement, which for some reason, wouldn't surprise me if that had actually happened that way.

Of course Trump didn't win the debate, he's never
won, he doesn't know enough about politics to
win. Yet he always wins in the online polls because
they want to vote for him. Tonight was his best
yet. I checked 12 polls and he did 65%-80% in
all of them. With every poll his numbers climb.

Unscientific as hell, but pro pollsters are saying
these online polls have value because they
mirror so many legit polls. I think Trump did
lousy, but he was the most likable, and that's
all that people see. Rubio always seems
nervous and twitchy. Cruz is frumpy and odd
looking, creepy even. Kasich tries too hard, he's
always screaming his credentials in our face,
and he looks old even though he's years
younger than Trump. Trump seems stately,
like the uncle you always liked. You want
him to be your friend, you want his approval.

With Rubio and Cruz, you just want them to
leave.
