I always wanted to play Franz Liszt's Mephisto Waltz #1

This guy just rushes through it like it's a race or he has to pee or something. Misses the romance entirely.

Since I lack the talent to actually play the piano, I was inspired to sequence the entire piece as I would like it:
My sequence converted to an MP3

When it comes to "acoustical" I am also reminded of some great classical music played using natural instruments. In some cases, the conductor can elevate the ordinary to a higher plane. Today, about the best conductor I've witnessed is Myung-Whun Chung. So here is Baba Yaga / Great Gate of Kiev feat. the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra.
Lengthy at over 9 minutes, but worth it.

***EDITED*** As a kid (literally) I first heard this composition on a Reader's Digest Compilation... must have been 8 or so albums (remember those?). This was how I got introduced to Classical Music. And wouldn't ya know somebody had a copy thats listenable. I'll just link it for space-time considerations.

Great, great piece. I feel privileged to have heard Leonard Slatkin and the Detroit Symphony (one of my favorite conductors and ensembles) perform it live.

I also saw the Berlin Philharmonic for the first time this year (not with Rattle). The best sonic experience of my lifetime thus far. Just extraordinary.

Then you'll love this. I know some of the players: Don Byron, Joshua Redman, James Carter. One of the issues with enjoying recorded jazz from the '30s is the horrible fidelity, playing records recorded at 78 (with custom eq curves) back converted to 33.3 and forced through RIAA. This is what it would sound like.
