Here is Todays, for all you single fellas out there.
99:"Don't listen to your buddies, your brother-in-law's cousin, your college frat brothers or anyone else who would like to tell you otherwise. Prostitution is not legal in Vegas (part of Clark County). However, prostitution is legal in Pahrump, Nev., (part of neighboring Nye County, about 45 minutes away). Different county, different laws."

Why Sir, I am sure I have no idea what you are talking about. :P
Quote: ahiromuYeah I tend to like the "full service" remarks in those little magazines. Everything's inferred, but definitely not for the $79 price on the cover. I would like to see what you get for just the cover price one day.
This is getting out of my area, but I think that just gets the girl through the door. Then she asks what you want to do, and you negotiate from there.

Yeah, definitely to get you through the door.
Last summer I had a VERY attractive woman proposition me in the elevator bank at THEHotel at Mandalay Bay for $1K per hour. hahaha...

Sort of like the antique car swap meet I was at once. Sign read "Bolts $3.00 Free Beer with every one purchased." Got them around the liquor sales license for the 3 days they were there.

There is an unofficial don't ask don't tell policy about it. The womens' jail is full of soliciting (telling) cases.
You don't have to search long in Vegas -- perhaps one difference though between this and other places.
98: There are around 50 Wedding Chapels up, down and around the strip (including those in the Casinos.) Most of the standalone properties lie between the north end of the Strip and downtown, in the so-called "Naked City" area. If you see the tattoo parlours you are heading the right way. These chapels can cater to all kinds of ceremony, from traditional to Elvis, to Klingon or for those in a hurry, Drive Thru.

If you've been paying attention to my posts, you know I was in Vegas this past September, and am coming again in September. Both for a convention. The Wedding Merchants Business Academy. All types of wedding professionals meet to discuss how to do a better job at weddings, as well as how to connect and sell to modern brides.
One evening last year, a lot of us took a tour of three wedding chapels. One stop was at, according to them, the only chapel within eyesight of City Hall. It was also, according to them, the only chapel with an elevator. I wanted to ask if that meant they were the only chapel with two floors.
On the bus to these three chapels, we passed a lot of other chapels. Most looked like condemned buildings. The three we visited were nice.
The highlight was the second stop, at the Elvis Chapel. They took two people out of the group, then we had a mock wedding ceremony where these two got married. It was a very cool wedding.
The back of the chapel opened wide, and a vintage pink Cadilac convertable came into the room. Elvis was driving, and the 'bride and groom' were riding high on the rear seat. They got out, walked tot he alter, then Elvis performed the ceremony, including singing several songs. The whole thing lasted about 20 minutes, but it was a real fun ceremony.
This photo is from their website, not our group, but it gives you the idea:
There's additional seating on the right side. Total capacity about 50, or about 70 if they don't leave room for the car.
The next day, I saw 'Elvis' at the convention. I already knew something about the Vegas wedding business, so I had to ask him a question.
NJ, where I live, as well as neighboring NY, has liberal rules regarding marriage. An internet reverend such as myself can legally marry people. Neighboring PA has very strict rules. A minister must 'minister' to a congregation on a regular basis at a real church, etc.
When I became a reverend, I was amazed to learn that the home of the Drive-Thru wedding, has strict rules similar to PA regarding the officiant.
So I asked 'Elvis' about it. He's not a minister. He's not even an interent reverend. He simply entertains. A local reverend is on hand. In a one minute private meeting with the couple, asks them if they really want to get married, then signs the license.
It's not unlike yesterday's thread where it boiled down to, there are many ways around the law...

So is it legal to hire a hooker to strip for a bachelor party before a wedding in Vegas? ;)
Quote: NareedIf nothing else, this thread should establish a record for lenght.
I doubt it. The "Hoax that is the 1.41%" thread is still going strong.

I would guess not, but if alady with a bad reputation came up to your hotel room, undressed, danced a little, and then maybe picked up some money that did not belong (by their own admission) to everyone else, and didnt tell anyone, I dont think anyone would be prosecuted. I could be wrong.
On another note, we were surprised last weekend by the seeming lack of people handing out the cards on the strip of near nude women asking for escort services. Was there an effort to clean this up in the past year. This would make the strip far more kid-friendly, not that I would ever bring my children to Vegas.
Oh and for those following the slight "Adult" subtext to previous posts, Lake Mead is the setting for Pammy and Tommy's Stolen Honeymoon.
Find your own link to that.

At a half page reply per fact, you'll wind up with about 49 pages. That ought to set the record. Assuming there are that many reply-worthy facts avout Vegas.
If not I'll just post "Hmm. Interesting" or "Who knew?" just to keep it up :P

Nice.
On to number 96:
Probably on of my favourite myths around Vegas (of which I will be coveriing a few in this thread, is the myth of Hunting For Bambi(NSFW) It basically involved setting up hunting expeditions with a difference. Instead of hunting deer, rich fellas would hunt naked women. With Paintballs.
In 2003, Las Vegas promoter Michael Burdick finally came clean, admitting to city officials that "Hunting for Bambi" was a hoax and that his company never actually conducted "hunting expeditions" in which wealthy male patrons stalked naked women with paintball guns. "It was all staged," Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman told The Associated Press. "The purported 'Hunt for Bambi' was a scam. There were actors and actresses, and there wasn't even the real shooting of paint balls.
Although a former mob lawyer telling you something didnt happen, doesnt mean it didnt happen, so it could still be true.
Anyone want in on the ground floor?
Morally I have no problem with it, for the same reason I have no problem with Strippers or Prostitutes who do their job of their own volition. Its their bodies, let them do what they like.
My son has a Nerf gun. The range and accuracy of those things are terrible, and they constantly jam. Bambi would go unscathed unless she was over 80 years old. I'm thinking conventional paintball guns, but that shoot with a small enough force to not hurt.
You are FAR from alone in your thoughts. I'd even bet that you're in the majority.
The fact is, I find it amusing and perplexing that in "Sin City", Hunting for Bambi is where they put their foot down.
On a side note, paint-ball participants are required to wear head gear because of the very real danger of choking if a shot goes in the mouth, or eye injury, etc. So I'd side with whoever says that a safer alternative needs to be found.
But the general concept of hunting naked women? Where do I sign up?
Quote: Wizard...My son has a Nerf gun. The range and accuracy of those things are terrible, and they constantly jam...
Wiz, I respect your insight in all things gambling, but your missing the point here. Poor range and accuracy are just what is needed to allow the hunter to get CLOSER to the hunted. Since my eyesight is somewhat suspect anyways, I welcome the less hunting intense and the more visually intense opportunity. I'd even take it as far as using Nerf knives for little hand to hand action.
Happy Hunting All.

I think Croupier has the right idea with the guns shooting paint. For those who never played, getting hit with a paintball is somewhere between getting snapped with a rubber band and getting hit with a slow moving baseball. Where I would see a problem getting a paintball "not to hurt" is if you reduced the speed or mass enough the ball just wouldn't shoot. (Assuming the women are nekkid except for eye protection and shoes.) Another problem is if said women are also strippers they are going to have a lot of welts from where the balls hit, dinimishing their marketability.
But as you can see, I have no problem with it as long as everyone involved, customers and bambis, is over 18 years old.
What happens in Vegas.........................would get you arrested almost anywhere else.

OOOOOOOOOO! This give me a brilliant idea. How about creating bikinis and bras for the women with built-in lazer sensors? That would clean the game up for use in other states. Maybe even. . . Iowa.
Okay. Maybe not Iowa.
We have all heard similar stories, a young couple come to Vegas get married and cant contain their passion, so head to one of the cheap motels near the wedding chapel to cinsumate the marriage. On entering the room, they start getting down to business, but the girl is distracted by a strange smell. They stop and call the manager who comes in looks under the bed and straight into the face of a dead and decomposing hooker.
One problem with the story: It has never happened in Las Vegas. The legend may have been sparked by a number of newspaper stories about actual cases of bodies being hidden in motel rooms in Virginia and Maryland. For some reason, people are more willing to believe that this story has happened in Las Vegas, rather than the small towns where it actually took place. What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but remember -- not everything happens in Vegas.

You go from a Bambi Hunt to decomposing bodies? How the hell am I supposed to think about the Bambo Hunt now!?!?!

To make it a bit more difficult, perhaps it should have to be two handed tag. This last rule is only in the interest of fair play, of course.

True. The hotels dont like to make it common public knowledge, but I think I read somewherre that every strip hotel has had at least one death ruled as suicide. (CityCenter excepted - for now). I think I also read somewhere that Las Vegas is the Suicide capital of the US. Although this is not related to the Strip as such, but the entire are.
