Quote: darkozIm queens. My daughter is Brooklyn
The train is 2 blocks from either of our houses.
I can get most anywhere in NYC within an hour at anytime of day
During business hours driving that same distance could take upwards of 3 hours. Its literally bumper to bumper traffic in Manhattan.
Driving thru the Lincoln Tunnel between 5 and 7 pm is usually a 90 minute debacle (about 10 minutes at 2 am for comparison)
Imagine 8 million people all travelled simultaneously... in a city the size of Burbank
I wonder what the average parking space sells for in Manhattan. When I was last there $40 was cheap for a day of parking in a garage. I heard people who live in buildings buy spots for their cars.
Me, my now infamous daughter who says she really wants to meet you guys and my 13 and 8 year old grandkids who almost certainly are indifferent about meeting you guys but dont mind a trip to vegas and knotts berry farm if that's the price to pay
Flying in Thursday morning one way NYC to Vegas $110 per person
Leaving Sunday 8pm to Los Angeles one way $76 per person on infamous Spirit Airlines
Return Tuesday from Los Angeles one way for $118 each person.
Approximately $300 round trip NYC to Vegas to LA back NYC
Yes, I am a bargain hunter at heart
EDIT: being 5'4 and my daughter 5'2 we should have no problem with legroom on Spirit. My 8 year as well should be fine
My 13 year old granddaughter is already 5'8 so we will see. Her dad was 6'6
And yes, my granddaughter "looks down on me" :)

I have seen as high as $40 an HOUR for midtown parking during either business hours or Broadway events hours
More like 30%.Quote: GWAEthats now how business works. So in your theory my competitors and I should join together and instead of us each charging 5% there could be 1 company and charge 12%? Isnt that a monopoly and that the FTC tries to prevent from happening?
p.s. I have flown Spirit oodles of times since the Spirit/D match play promo started and I have yet to do it.
Doesn't this make it difficult/a pain in the ass to go to certain casinos? It seems like this would limit you to only certain places.Quote: darkozNeither my daughter nor myself have drivers licenses.

I won't disagree with saying certain places are a pain in the ass to get too
If its a valuable location I will get there somehow or find someone i trust with a car to handle it for me. Or just pay them for the ride
Hows that working out for your cash and cards that were stolen?Quote: darkoz
someone i trust
Quote: AxelWolfHows that working out for your cash and cards that were stolen?
Perfectly fine
It was someone I didn't trust who was the problem
How are your friends and family working out for you. Trust any of them?
MGM is giving me free rooms
Excalibur looks good for kids.
Any other place within Mlife good for kids
I'm over 6' and Spirit is my favorite bargain airline. I would havve to be paid to fly on Frontier.

In my co-op in Jackson Heights, half the apartments come with an indoor parking spot a block away at a sister property. The spots run $300 a month and it adds about 40-50 K to the $400,000 estimated value. There were two 24 hour bus routes that passed the front of the building, and one on the side. It's three blocks to the subway.
The pyramid shape will probably appeal to kids
Here's an interesting article about costs of parking in NYC. No thanks, I'd only live there if I could afford a helicopter. I hate buses. 200k for a spot in Manhattan,,,,,oooof.

Quote: MaxPenLuxor is showing it's age but still decent. Some of the rooms are a bit wonky and out of level. I think kids would like it. Plus they have inclinators. Elevators that go sideways as they go up. What's not to like about that if your a kid.

Subways and local buses if you buy monthly cards are $1400 for the entire year of transport

I don’t think I’ve ever flown from the USA to the USA. If I’m changing cities in the USA I drive or I’m flying from another country. No spirit in Canada.
Quote: DRichThat is such an odd concept to people that live outside of the East coast.
Hell yea, in CA you get a drivers license as soon you illegally cross the border, along with a Dem voter registration card and a government benefits card.

Ok ok. We all know you about to lose the next election
Get over it and go back to the political threads

What’s more political than a bunch of guys from different political perspectives getting together in the desert to realize we are all born equal?
And also realizing we are also all a few drinks away from being homosexual. Not that there’s anything wrong with it.

Is that why I prefer MISTER PIBB?
Anyway I am certain with this many people gathering not every one needs to drink to arrive there
Ya, um.........I'm not sure what you've been drinking.Quote: BozWhat’s more political than a bunch of guys from different political perspectives getting together in the desert to realize we are all born equal?

But dont worry Axel. All the confirmed heteros were definitely on the Dont Come side
If you ever do get a drivers licenses and a car your personalized licence plate can be MFAPOEC , I have a feeling it's still available. Unfortunately for you BUS BOY had already been snapped up. That's ok, because I think we will give you Bus Boy as an honorary AP name from now on.Quote: darkozNeither my daughter nor myself have drivers licenses. We are New Yorkers!
Its one hour flight to vegas. And prices are between $40 and $76 depending on day that weekend.

Lol
The more you insult me the more everyone on this forum recognizes how insanely jealous you are at my success as an AP
I'm not sure how you could take any of that as an insult. Talk about being paranoid. A) I try to help you with a good personalized licence plate suggestions. B) I try to tell/help AP's learn it's not good going around passing off money in casinos and to avoid it as much as possible(I know you the MFWSECAP all ready knew that, right?) C) I give you a cool honorary AP nickname.Quote: darkozLol

No good deeds...
p.s. I'm jealous of anyone getting chauffeured around in a $500,000 vehicle.

Well please refrain from giving me honorary AP nicknames
Darkoz or the most feared AP on the East Coast will suffice

It was close
I had family down there. Was looking into that territory.
But they turned out unreliable schedule wise so I didn't press it
Dude, one doesn't get to pick his own AP nickname, it's given to you, like it or not.Quote: darkozWell please refrain from giving me honorary AP nicknames

Your new nickname rolls off the tongue quite well. Say it to yourself a few times you will come to love it.

I'm pretty sure the list is current, based on what has been posted so far, to today. However, plans change, so maybe some corrections coming. Still 6 weeks out.

Let me see if I can help. Nickname evolutions are sometimes subject to change as more observations that lead to the development of the name occur. Yours was a self appointed moniker that many found quite humorous and rolled with. After more observations it seems to be evolving to Most Joked About AP Team Leader on the East Coast.

Most people with power find themselves ridiculed
I suppose I just have to get used to it.

I think that's what Kim Jong Un tells himself. 😀
Quote: MaxPenI think that's what Kim Jong Un tells himself. 😀
Thats your example?
Might as well agree I am right.
There is a whole nation of people that currently fear Kim and based on the news of his weapons testing and presidents unsure how to handle him I would hardly call him a powerless and unfeared person.
Kim can rightfully call himself the most feared leader in the East

Whatever you have to tell yourself. Also, giving you some goals to work towards. If you ran your regime like he does you probably wouldn't have gotten robbed.
Kim can rightfully lay claim to Most Joked about leader in the East as well.

Don't get so riled up oh great and powerful Oz - I'm just funnin' ya.
Anyway this thread is planning for the upcoming shindig so I'll let the folks get back to it. Who knows - one of these days, I may even waive my normal appearance fee and show up at one of these get togethers.
