Quote: GWAETrivia question.:
What happens when a member of your group tells other people in your group that it is ok to smoke near the elevator, in the "smoking lounge"?
I think the entire hotel tower gets evacuated, along with half the casino, while Axelwolf screams "Deal, dammit!" louder than the siren and recorded order to leave (which is saying something).
I could be wrong. It's not like I was dealing at the time or anything. Or the person with the misinformation in the first place.
I'm still laughing.
Betcha dey be fakes.Quote: ThatDonGuy. However, I did discover something; apparently, it is not true that all used Venetian casino dice are destroyed, as I found a shop that sells them.
I thought the same thing, however, I'm thinking it could have been someone who added a name or something like that to the room. They definitely had the name associated with the people in their before us.Quote: RigondeauxKinda crazy that someone who had a giant 2 bedroom suite supposedly robbed some random person on Freemont.
Of course it is. You were probably too worried if we would get to dinner in time.Quote: GWAEIs that a true story, how did I miss this happening
Quote: AxelWolfOf course it is. You were probably too worried if we would get to dinner in time.

Quote: RSOMG my flight is in 72 hours and I haven't packed yet!!!! -GWAE, probably
Actually for this trip I didn't pack until an hour before we left for airport. Only took a back back and didnt bring much
Quote: PokerGrinderI thought it was thatdonguy?
Him too. Sorry about the omission, Don.
Thank You Barbara, Nathan and Darkoz. I was not expecting a free dinner.Quote: WizardLet the record show that Barbara and Nathan each chipped in about $100 towards the big dinner and darkoz picked up the rest of about a $620 bill. I'd like to pass along my due thank yous and all those who got a free meal should be aware of who to thank, if you didn't already.

Lmao we all know you’re a good guy, you’ve let the truth out. This online bravado can’t fool anyone anymore lol.
WTF did GWAE do other than send out a bunch of really annoying PM's? (-;Quote: blickThis was my first time attending the spring fling and first time to Vegas. I had an amazing time with all of you guys. Thanks GWAE for arranging this meet. Thanks wizard for the wonderful suite. Thanks darkoz, Barbara and Nathan for the dinner. Thanks Axel for the trivia. Thanks Paul for teaching me backgammon. I met a lot of wonderful people and I will try my best to attend this meet every year. In the airport now waiting for my flight which was delayed for more than 2 hrs.

GWAE would you like me to beat up Axel for you?

I am leaving the country for 10 days and I will not pack until 15 minutes before I head to the airport. I am packing everything I take in a carry-on collapsible cooler. That way I will not only transport my clothes, I will have a cooler for beer and sandwiches when I get there.

ZK's phone rang @ the Fling and this was his ring tone:
What movie was this from?
The Karate Kid

Hopefully you all understand you were in the presence of Greatness!
Welcome back King, can’t wait for the stories on how it’s been going for you.
They always come back, one way or another. Except of course the most open and informative poster there ever was on here.

Let me apologize again for omitting ThatDonGuy from the list. He chipped in $100 too.
Family is on return flight from LA.
Knotts berry farm was empty. Perfect. Went on same rollercoasters 5 times over. That empty.
Till next time hopefully. Maybe it will be extra special. I got a few ideas.

Reminds me of Ryan O’Neil in Fever Pitch, the greatest gambling movie of all time.
You're just looking for an excuse to be all up on me.Quote: PokerGrinderGWAE would you like me to beat up Axel for you?
...next year maybe Axel doesn't do the trivia, or lightens up a bit to let some people score more than 4-5 =D. I got 3, I'm pretty happy with that lol. There were others around giving up around question 8-9 =P.
Quote: RomesYeah I thought the meetup was a lot of fun and a really good turnout this year. Absolutely want to continue thanking all of those that contributed to dinner and to Axel/Wiz for the suite and beverages/snacks!

Probably best just to hand out the questions like a test. Public environments are too noisy to verbally ask questions. It just took to long for the questions to be asked 5 or so times each. I'm pretty sure that's why people said screw it and stopped answering.
I was confused on the question of the first video slot machine. I assumed video reels as I would have got it if the question said video poker. Fortune 1 was a video poker machine that Si Redd came up with. The company eventually became IGT.
Quote: DRichI still think the MGM was built on the site of the Marina casino.

That's the *current* MGM Grand. Didn't the question ask about the *original* MGM grand, which is now Bally's?
Quote: DRichI still think the MGM was built on the site of the Marina casino.
I think the NEW MGM was. The original MGM was on LV Blvd and Flamingo (south-east corner).

I'm trying to find an image of this game. Personally, I thought Jackpot Party was the first, but I guess was proven wrong.
I suggested to The Wizard we have a "party" and a friendly poker game in a suite, like our crew oftentimes does for Superbowl. Our last one turned out really well, like usual. Mike thought that would be a good idea so we went forward. He said he might be able to hook us up with a nice setup downtown, and he did. I rounded up the rest of the stuff we needed. MaxPen helped me bring the stuff there and take it home. GWAE sent out lots of very annoying PM's(I probably got way more than you guys did) and let everyone know when, where, and how. Just busting your balls GWAE, thanks for doing all that, it helped a lot. Of course, you FKed up and told ZK the correct room number (-;Quote: ZenKinGIn all seriousness, it was nice seeing everyone again, I always have a good time. Didn't expect anyone to pay for the dinner either so a big thank you to all who contributed, I believe it was darkoz, nathan, wiz, bbb, and thatdonguy? Also thank you to the wiz and I believe axel also who arranged the suite and provided the beverages and food? Everything went well and I think everyone enjoyed themselves so thank you again.
Lot's of people contributed to the cost of booze and food(THANKS!!). You over tippers will be happy to know that we left $20 for the maid. And I even went back the morning to collect some stuff(the $20, all the robes, slippers and towels (-; ) and even clean up good.
TomG, if you want your Prize, I have it.
I got home after 4 am.Quote: GWAEWhat time did you guys close up shop? I wish I would have stayed longer. I felt like crap, I think the jet lag hit me at 11 so we left. Wife was tired too.

lol somebody jacked ZenKings account and wrote all these nice things

I am pretty sure Reel'Em In was before Jackpot Party. The first video reel game I remember in Nevada was Megabucks (A 3 reel video version).
Trivia was hard AF. I second the motion to have it be a "test" style, where the questions are already printed on the paper. I got 0 correct. Should make them easier or at least a different subject. I'll go head to head with any of you suckers on bird law.
I still got like 20 beers if anyone wants to buy them, only $7 a piece. Act now! That's a big discount, compared to what you'd pay on the strip or a bar/nightclub. I only accept dogecoin for payment.

Reel 'em in was my answer, too, fwiw. I'm 90% sure it was out before Jackpot Party. But I think we're talking definitions of video slots here. It was evolutionary, moving from reels to screens, and I genuinely don't know where to draw the line. But it wasn't my quiz, so whatever Axel said is good with me.
