The Russians provided the services to the Trump campaign for free. This is why you see the Chinese, Russian, North Korean, and Iranian leaders in the news today. Russia knew that it would be far better off with the Orange Chimp-in-Chief over HRC and could exert their political wills without Trump being able to use any form of real diplomacy (the diplomacy behind closed doors) to stop them.
One cannot possibly deny that Russia and its leadership made a serious attempt to throw the direction Trumps' way. The evidence is clear and overwhelming. And the American people apparently are fine with that, just like they are fine with gerrymandering, restrictive/overly permissive voting laws, and outlandish campaign contribution limits (money = speech -- I blame the Dems on the last one).
The outstanding question is whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians. The answer is no. That is what the conclusion will be. It will be clear that Trump's campaign was overly friendly with the Russians and that the Trump campaign knew what the Russians were doing, but were likely under no (or at least beyond a reasonable doubt) legal obligation to stop or report it.
Ethically, politics has been so over the line for the last number of decades. You have governments of foreign nations contributing to politicians' non-campaign foundations (HRC and Trump) and you don't think that there is a sway when in comes to government decisions based on that donation?

'Apparently,' what they have been able to independently confirm HAS checked out. There's no reason to say the rest is BS: an English spy of 20 years or whatever would have sources we couldn't access or evaluate on our own. You'd LIKE it to be BS, but there's enough consistency, enough whores, enough info that may not rise to the level of proof needed to confirm but indicates veracity, that it's credible.
The more important indicator in something like this, is that none of it, so far, has been provably false. (AFAIK)

The media outlets needs a boogeyman to go along with their fearmongering. I don't care who Mueller charges/indicts/whatever. Democrat, Republican, Clinton, Trump.... hopefully it will set a precedent that if a politician or their staff commits any crimes they will be held accountable. I suspect that despite getting everyone's hopes up, very little will come of this. Probably some minor player will get a slap on the wrist, and business will continue as usual.
