Always up for a game if anybody wants to play. So's The Wizard (usually).
Both MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay have added a Pai Gow table (poker, not tiles) or two to their main BJ pits that are open 24/7.
A dealer at MGM told me this is so they don't have to keep their Pai Gow pits open during slow periods. So they will not offer Tiles during the slow periods when their main Pai Gow pit is closed.
Quote: teddysIt really is a devilish game. I'm impressed by any white person who has taken the time to learn it. If you know the rank order of the tiles by memory, I give you double credit.

I'd be keen. Will be in Vegas 17-20 August.
On a side note, most of the tiles tables I saw last week were empty. I probably played for 10-12 hours over 4 days, and I was alone at the tables for all except about 15 minutes. Where did all the tiles players go?
Foxwoods has 7 tables I think still
Quote: AussieWhat sort of limits will I see on tiles at the Venetian? How about in the high limit at Palazzo?
I think minimums were usually $25 when I played at Aria, Paris and Venetian. Primetime on the weekend the minimum went up to $50 at Aria, I'm guessing it may do so at Venetian as well. Don't know about the high limit room.

Spend it any on-property location where you might normally charge things to your room: bars, restaurants, spas.
Fine Print Summary:
Requires use of code when making reservation. Code easily available from their own web site.
Will continue up to Christmas Eve but will have several "blocked nights".
Frankly I have no idea if this is any sort of extra special deal or not. Nor do I know what dates the bargain-filled DEAD WEEK will take place this year. Its the week just prior to the week that contains Christmas.
During DEAD WEEK just about everyone offers discounts because hotels and casinos are well....dead!

This is the deal I am in at Venetian. I wasn't particular impressed with it but booked it anyway as it was cancelable while the cheapest rate was not. Price difference was a little bit less than $150 for 3 nights so it worked out the same really as I would charge things to the room anyway.
Re: Pai Gow tiles. $25 min Venetian side 1 table. No table at Palazzo. Went in to the high limit room and nothing there either.
13 Big strip properties hold licenses for 24 pai gow tiles tables. Does not require that they be open just that license fee is paid.
