One site says it is south of the intersection of 93 and 95, while another puts it on the north side of the road halfway between Boulder City and Searchlight.
Anyone been to it?
Edit: Here's an image of the actual place:
The Boulder City dot com site has a good write up, and directions to get there from the highway: Boulder City Pet Cemetery
Note that disturbing the land there is currently prohibited as the area is protected as a designated Desert Tortise habitat.
And it's almost as large to the east.
Are there modern pet cemeteries in Las Vegas? If not, this could be a lucrative business opportunity. There would certainly be demand for a modestly priced, well kept place. I see so many people bringing their dogs to restaurants, stores, and basically everywhere with them under the guise of “comfort” animal.Quote: WizardI should have buried our guinea pig thee.
I took a whole movie, but you'll have to settle for just a few pictures until I get around to uploading the movie to YouTube.
Sorry the image is upside down.
The place is surreal. Seems like something out of a horror movie. Meanwhile, you can feel the love people had for these pets. If I were a dead pet, I'd be honored to be buried there.

There's a nice one off Craig, I remember calling them and asking about prices several years ago when thinking of moving to Vegas. I've spent a fortune burying my pets in California. I always buy a little stuffed animal to put in the casket with them, to keep them company forever. And a lock of my hair.

I think to think of or find a name of the one off of the 93. What's it's called, one grave had a about 50 stuffed animals on it. If not that one, I bet a lot of Las Vegans just bury their animals out in the desert somewhere. Once I was riding my mountain bike in a remote area and came upon a pile of rocks that seemed out of place. I moved a few and there was a box of human remains.
How did you know it was human remains?Quote: Wizard... there was a box of human remains.

The upside down photo is oddly appropriate. Please don't change it.
Quote: MintyI'm glad there are cemeteries like this. Something about the silence of them and the acknowledgement that many have come to one place for the deceased has a power to it that is hard to articulate.
I agree. Well put.
Here is the video I put together. Enjoy.

Thanks and you're welcome.

Yes, I agree. The web site I linked to before said a Boulder City vet may have started it, but nobody knows for sure. It doesn't even have a commonly accepted name. I'm hoping Paco will come along and shed some light.
