gave him a great reason to welsh on it..

Careful. He'll be posting about how best to seek revenge on you. :)

At least he doesn't owe me money. I'd never see that again.
My impression of Lemieux was that he was kind of stupid.
He talked about APing BJ but from his comments about the game he clearly didn't understand it at all. Which is fine, I guess, if you don't mind losing money. Wannabe counters probably make up a good chunk of the casino's profits.
Then there was this whole bet-welching thread. Even if he really truly believes that he was doing the right thing, did he really think that the people on this forum would agree with him? Sorry, that is just dumb. Hatred of welchers is just about the only thing that people around here agree on.
I dunno; Axel has met the guy... maybe he will disagree with my assessment.

Axel met him once, according to posts that both of them have made on this forum.
I've met Axel; he is a good guy.
Here's where it gets confusing. The Suspension Ends column next to his name says never. Why is that? Why is he not afforded a reinstatement upon request like all the others who have resigned? Do his posts even come close to the Nuclear Option? If the answer is yes then that indication beside his name would clear things up for those who want to insult him now that he's gone.
If the answer is no then he is a member in good standing who cannot be insulted without consequences. Until his true status is determined caution is advised. There's no reason for anyone else to get suspended over this.

If a member resigns he immediately loses his insult protection, whether permanently or temporarily. If he asks to come back, and is accepted, then he regains insult protection. In the case of L66, I put "never" in the "suspension ends" column because he framed his resignation as permanent and a request to be reinstated would be denied anyway. When somebody resigns in good standing, especially with a reason like he needs to take a break (aHigh is a good example), I will leave the "suspension ends" column blank or put a question mark.
That's just a stupid comment. But speaking of clearer and clearer It's There is some saying that comes to mind "stupid is as...Quote: EvenBobAxel hangs with him? Everything is getting

BTW, I hear you are tight with LarryS.
If you read the posts where I discussed meeting Lem66, and I know you did. There was no mention I hang around with him. I met up with him one time with my GF. I treated him to a comped dinner at a nice place. I was interested in finding out about his "adventure in AC" seeking an answer to the mystery, to find out if there were any red flags, to why he thought he was getting flagged. Most people here seemed to like him. Other known members wanted to meet with him as well in the past. I think someone did.
I was one of the first people to point how how wrong I thought he was. I always thought some of what he was saying, seemed off a bit, I voiced it in his threads (I know you like to sit back and chime in after the fact all the time, then abandon ship at any sign you're wrong ).
I especially found it cheap and tacky that he was advertising and charging other members 10 bucks for a buffet.
At dinner He behaved himself just fine, he didn't act or say anything to strange, he didn't brag and was quite humble and seemed honest (it looks like he is to "honest" but misguided). I offered him a few bucks to play something for me and we parted ways. He seemed like someone people would like. I doubt his MO is to screw people over.
Apparently he has some twisted point to prove and is to stubborn to back down, even tho 99% of us think he wrong (sound familiar?).Perhaps he just wanted to stir up shit (sound familiar?)
I have said, this isn't going to end well.
People say some f***ed up sh**t all the time. RB said some horrible crap about cops after that Vegas police shooting. According to what you are implying about me hanging around him(and it's not the case), you would have to apply that train of thought to Mike, Me and a few others.
At least the guy is willing to show his face and not hide behind a computer screen making judgments about everyone.
I don't condone nor will I defend what he is saying or doing but technically I'm not even sure he welshed on a bet, he didn't pay back a loan used to gamble. Seems common even with some popular poker players. see Full Tilt.

In absolute total agreement. Totally tasteless beyond crude. Just funny how your immediate response has proven:

You have been quite lenient in this matter. I expected much worse.
Also Mike/Wizard has a "weakness" for pretty things. Don't we all. LOL. Be very careful this can be your downfall. This has brought many empires and accomplish people down to nothing.

Regardless, 7 days for a 5th offense doesn't seem all that bad when others are nuked for that many trips to the woodshed. LarryS must be scratching his head in disbelief.

It seems we already established the rules cant cover every situation. I think in Larry's case you really have to look at the over all picture and his intentions. Larry seemed to want to be truly hurtful to people and even discredit the Wizard and the forum. He was not trying to be clever or funny or helpful. He seem to take serious joy in the misfortunes of others and was spiteful.
Buzz might be a bit cantankerous But I don't think he is out to be purposely spiteful.
Cliams he has beaten Baccarat via some final card hand algoryhm and betting the second line Banker. You can read more of DMSCR's deluded insights here removed by mod

Had I not been for that, I would argue against the suspension in favor of a warning.
For the record, the first time I ever heard the expression "Go shit in a hat" was in an email from Roger Snow, after the game demo in May, 2012. The email was sent to all participants. It included an invitation to call Roger to talk about the results, or simply to tell Roger to shit in his hat. I took him up on his offer - to talk about the results - not to tell him off. I talk about it in this post.
Buzz was at that game demo and got the same email.
But there's a difference between saying it after being invited to say it, and just saying it unprovoked.

LarryS is a worthless piece of crap. I find it amazing that it took the mods that long to nuke him.
Buzz likes to troll, but it's funny, playful, and not at all hurtful to anyone. I've never met him, he seems to be a genuinely nice guy.
I don't see how you can compare them.

That's because I was not comparing them in any way, shape or form. I've barely read any of Larry's posts, not because it's Larry, because many of the topics here don't interest me. I only mentioned Larry because, other than someone that nobody has ever heard of, he was the last one nuked. I was comparing the suspension process. Remember the Martingale? It worked just fine in Larry's case.
I also think Buzz is a good guy and, as a fellow veteran from an unpopular time, I have respect for him. I can't speak for the dozens of members he has insulted. I do think he's safe from being nuked as he does have an in with at least one moderator and that's okay.
Why this thread exists is beyond me, especially in a dictatorship, but as long as it does I'm going to express my opinions. I'll express them without insulting anyone including banned members who can't respond here. I hope that my opinions are not misunderstood or manipulated as I strive to make my posts as clear as possible.

Because the dictator wants it here?
Quote:but as long as it does I'm going to express my opinions. I'll express them without insulting anyone including banned members who can't respond here.
In fairness, the only reason I didn't insult Larry when he was not banned was because doing so is against the rules. I always did my best to get as close to the line as possible without going over. I'm pretty sure he knew what I thought of him.
I would actually usually agree with you about not insulting people who can't defend themselves, but I dislike Larry enough to make an exception. It's sort of like how, I'm generally against killing people, but I'm pro-death-penalty.
Quote:I hope that my opinions are not misunderstood or manipulated as I strive to make my posts as clear as possible.
I think that your posts on the topic are generally understood as complaints that the rules are not enforced uniformly against all members (at least, that's how I understand them; my apologies if that's a misunderstanding).
Quote: AxelWolfHe seem to take serious joy in the misfortunes of others and was spiteful.
No, that's not how I see it.
He didn't seem to dwell on people's misfortunes.
Rather, I think that Larry found Joy in hoisting others on their own petard.
