Thanks for the heads up. Assuming you were talking about superrick, I just unbanned him as I see he was scheduled to be done on 2/2.
As to why... I suspect the same reason I forgot to pay my truck note. Sometimes we forget without a notice to remind us.

Can't you (or someone) write a little script to unban in x days/hours? It seems fairly common the suspended due a little extra time.

I know. It's happened to me.

So for the suspension regulars, when planning one's future suspensions, can these credits be rolled over to accumulate from multiple prior Drama Queen episodes, or would there be an expiration to the stockpiling of future suspension comps for higher tier members of the suspension Diamond Club? Just idle pointless curiosity.Quote: Mission146They can receive credit upon a subsequent Suspension, upon request.

Using that analogy, there are consequences for forgetting to pay that truck note. A simple fix would be to require the person who issued the suspension to assume responsibility for a timely reinstatement. Let the failure to do that result in a suspension of the administrator on, say, a two for one rate for each day that the suspended person over serves. Problem solved.
Add a column to the Suspension List with the name of the person issuing the suspension, not to keep score but to better help the hoi polloi assist in this matter. We could remind the proper administrator of a pending reinstatement. Don't forget the secret administrator who seems to have enormous power here, even to overrule the head green. It could simply be entered as SA so that the few who don't know who it is can remain in the dark.
Let me add that I think our secret administrator is okay and is a good contributor to this forum.

I haven't finished it yet. But I find Harper Lee's description of white southerners to be hilarious. If I didn't know better I would swear she was writing about the people of Scott County, Mississippi where I'm from.

Why do the mods consistently spell my name wrong? And actually, I had a trip to post about. So I noticed that I my banning was several hours late in expiring. As of 10:00 AM EST, I was still banned. So unless the Wizard banned from a different country's timezone, I assumed his 5:30 AM post marked the beginning of the ban. If I were a car rental agency, that's an entire extra day at local rates. Trust me, I know this.

I'm open to unnuking SAP if he submits to binding arbitration by anybody mutually agreeable between Aye and himself.
This incident does not necessary set a precedent. Forum management still wishes to not get involved in friendly bets between forum members and urges everybody to be ladies and gentlemen and pay any lost wagers in a timely manner.
With the utmost respect, I'd like to take issue with your statement here in hopes you will overturn it. Hopefully, you will not find it trolling or suspend me or anything.
First off, making a gambling wager on WOV is a clear violation of Forum Rule 8 "Don't post anything that would violate the laws of Nevada or the United States". Mission clearly agrees with this assessment with his post on page 4 of the thread "When a forum member doesn't pay" where a the question is posed if placing a wager violates Forum rule 8 and he replies "Yup." and goes on to imply he will not enforce it and compares the offense to jaywalking. You, yourself, also agree to the same notion in 2012 on page 1 of the Legality of friendly bets and poker games thread where you state "Even friendly bets among friends are not legal." It is pointed, in response, that it is not illegal in ALL states. So my first question is, why is WOV OK with suspending SAP but not Aye? Why is SAP punished for his refusal to fully break rule 8, when there is no other rule relevent to his conduct?
My second point goes to the binding arbitration. Presumably SAP would agree to binding arbitration by a real, legally recognized arbitrator. I would ask that you stipulate that this is true. The result is indisputable: he would win, since there is no legally enforceable debt. Aye may not agree to this, however. What this condition really requires, unfairly, is that SAP automatically agree to give up many of his defenses and arguments, and agree to an unsanctioned abritrator who dislikes welching and will most likely find in favor of Aye.
If this incident sets no precedent, what unusual facts are cause for a nuke? It seems pretty much like a garden variety, I lost and won't pay type of case. If it's not unusual, it's precedent. Your final statement actively encourages forum members to break forum rule 8.
Again, I mean no disrespect. I don't think people should make bets and skip out, but regardless, I strongly disagree with this action. A secret mod nukes him for not paying? That is clearly against forum policy (as is clearly stated by not getting involved) and if the mod is Aye or a friend of Aye, it is clearly unethical, more so than not paying a $100 wager.
I'm sure you have gotten away with other bad things so just consider it justified.Quote: SonuvabishWhy do the mods consistently spell my name wrong? And actually, I had a trip to post about. Many of us have been waiting for that report, but we will live. So are you going to post it for us or keep bitching about the past? And trust, that you probably have to earn. My bet? You have such a chip on your shoulder you are going to be nuked soon. Why go down that path? Move on and add to the forum or just walk away. Very few have the balls to do that, instead they go out in a blaze of nothingness.
Which one are you going to be?

A secret administrator, a nameless, faceless ghost who mysteriously and conveniently appears to do the dirty work and nuke a member because of a dispute between two people. A person with the awesome power to disregard the thoughts and opinion of the very top green name on this forum. Wow! This is what it's come down to and most are okay with it. This certainly makes my hall of shame. Rules are made to be broken but I guess it depends on who is doing the breaking. I also would like to see this member reinstated.

I assume that the part of my post that you claim is not true is the part that you highlighted in black. Do you know who the top green name is? Here is his quote on the matter. "This was a private bet that has nothing to do with this site and the management. Hence I do not see any reason for a ban, especially since we do not know all the details of this bet." That quote is still there and has not been edited in any way. If you have any further information please share it with the rest of the forum.
When the thoughts and opinion of the top administrator are tossed aside like that it would be understandable, in my opinion, if some found that a little disrespectful, biased and possibly self serving. Is this secret administrator involved in any of the illegal betting that goes on here? If so, perhaps he/she should have recused himself/herself.

Or GET OVER it and don't worry about stuff you can't control. Or offer $2.9 Million for the sites and you can be "Da Man", or maybe just a secret admin like you seem to be so upset over. Otherwise you make yourself out to be a petty person worried about petty things that are not your problem. But I'm sure the guy that was banned is happy you are sticking up for him....or he is out making tens of thousands on UX VP machines and really doesn't miss this place.
My potential "illegal" bet you are so worried about? You can't and won't give it up until you are gone as well. Seems like the "Ten Star Lock of the Year". I hope you prove me wrong, but I don't see it as I see you riding it to the end claiming victim all the way.
