The question is, will we? I don't know how I can possibly go three days without reading new EvenBob posts. I suppose I had better avoid the Forum entirely, during this lamentable time, to avoid falling into a deep depression.

He had served 10 days of an imposed 30 day suspension. (20 days early release)
If he manages to avoid suspension again, that is the end of the matter, but if he continues to hijack threads, by either twisting the topic or by bumping threads with unrelated nonsense, then he can expect those 20 days to be added to whatever penalty gets imposed.
Welcome back.Quote: ChumpChangeEverytime I come back I have an overwhelming urge to just tend to my blog and never post in threads again.
I look in on your blog. So your effort is not wasted. Though I can never quite understand what it reveals about you or your opinion on the games to play. I might take my questions to your blog, rather than be guilty of hijacking here :o)

I liken this post as a turning point in British History. A British Prime Minister, stepping off a plane, saying "Peace in our time!"
You do realise how well that worked out ?Quote: DeMangoI liken this post as a turning point in British History. A British Prime Minister, stepping off a plane, saying "Peace in our time!"
It suffered from constant supply problems, largely as a result of underachievement in aircraft production. Germany's failure to defeat the RAF and secure control of the skies over southern England made invasion all but impossible.
Why didn't Germany invade Sweden?
Hitler did not invade Sweden because he did not want to waste valuable troops in Scandinavia when he had other concerns. The Swedes proved their neutrality by not letting Germany use Swedish airspace: when the Germans flew over Sweden to attack Norway, the Swedes fired back with anti-aircraft guns.
Why didn't Germany invade Spain?
Germany had no reason to invade Spain. At that time, Spain was controlled by Franco's fascist government. The Germans had helped Franco take power -they had provided him material support during the Spanish Civil War. Spain was not “officially” an ally of the Axis Powers, but it was an ally.
Why was Switzerland not invaded?
According to Schäfer, a historian from the Martin Luther University in Germany, one of the main reasons why Switzerland was not invaded was because of the ceasefire between France and Germany, which France was forced to accept following the German offensive in May and June 1940
Why did Germany not invade Gibraltar?
Why did Nazi Germany not invade Gibraltar? Because they couldn't afford the Ferry Fare and they were too busy working out an invasion plan for Israel. Because Franco didn't permit passage of German forces through Spain.
Did the Germans ever attack Gibraltar?
Codenamed "Felix", the plan, which was signed by Adolf Hitler himself, was formulated at the highest level of command. With or without permission, Germany would take entry through Spain and attack Gibraltar, driving the British out of the Western Mediterranean.
This is not to infer I was ever taught anything about Nazi Germany in school or that I watched any WWII movies or documentaries on TV about Critical Nazi Theory. This is just a few tidbits I found on the internet in a few minutes.

I’d lean towards the same assumption.
He knew exactly what he was doing.
After OD gave him a provisional release he posted a link to Herbie Mann's song "Hijack."
Duh.
No, it's just a passive-aggressive play on his part, railing against the powers that be.

You asked about peace in our time and how it worked out.
I'm not interested in the merits of the arguments of either participant. They have both been instructed to stop squabbling here and have decided to continue to do so.

For context, KewlJ just served 30 days and Moses had 2 days
What, just because Mr. Clark felt the need to complain, that warrants a suspension?
I think not.
The way MrV worded what he alleges MarcusClark66 did is in itself insulting. The original MrV post referred to :crocodile tears:
As for "crocodile tears:" the post made by mwalz9 would not in my opinion cause any other than those lying in wait for a "Gotcha!" moment to complain; not only was there no overt insult, there was a clear element of truth in his post.
Besides, can you ever imagine a scenario where Mr. Clark would become a mod here?
This board used to be a place for those who understand, accept, and want to better understand the operation of mathematics viz. gambling, not a playground for systems players.
Anyone may post trip reports. Or most anything else. As the Wizard has said, if you don't like it, don't read!

I haven't even gotten my W-4 filed with HR yet, much less completed the onboarding. There are a lot of mandatory videos and WBT quizzes, most of which are about 3 points of contact so I don't fall down the stairs.

Personal insult. Three-day suspension.
I did not see this till now. There is a running joke about the rating of new moderators of this forum and Wizard seems to not be aware of it.Quote: WizardPersonal insult. Three-day suspension.
I accept that Macalister was taking part in that joke.
Wizard might be upset by this post and by my actions. I'll take what's coming to me.
Wizard may well be upset at me undermining his authority, but I believe he would not want any member suspended unfairly, even if that was by his adjudication. I appeal to him to accept that he made his ruling while not fully aware of the situation. Since Wizard takes account of when members complain about personal insults, I hope he equally takes account of my appeal for leniency.
I've never done this before, I'm unsuspending unilaterally at least until I can explain to Wizard.( blame the time zone difference)
Macalister released 'on parole'.
Wizard may wish his ruling to stand and if he does, then I apologise for my part, I apologise to all parties for undermining Wizard and I apologise to Macalister for not making his case convincingly.
Regards,
OD

I agree. Heck, Axel rated Dieter and I a D- on his Worse Moderator of All Time scale and said that if we were hot babes we would have rated higher. Which was funny!!

It was bad enough when we each had to submit sealed bids AND submit a folio of glamour shots to the recruitment committee, before a lengthy audition interview.
I will not give up my status of WMOAT without a fight. I've darned well earned it.

Hi Bosox,Quote: BoSoxA little off subject here but I think all the Administrators should discuss privately concerning any suspended member/member's sometimes lambasting the Wizard as well as different administrators on other gaming sites while in suspension. I know free speech and all but there is something about this practice that I find disturbing. When the individual returns from suspension and acts like everything are back to normal is hypocrisy at its finest. Realize it or not that is a huge flaw in the rules here whereby a member may get a small minor suspension on this site, only to have an excuse to play real hardball on another site totally protected.
We are aware that some members and ex-members of this forum like to 'comment' on this forum and it's moderators. Some name calling occurs out there on those other forums, and maybe some hypocracy. Does that/should that color our opinions of those posters? Should we penalise those members here for what they post elsewhere?
The tendency is no! We moderate this forum based on what behaviours we see on this forum. I know of one precedent where a member was banned here for posts elsewhere, but that's the exception.
Members that express hostility to this site on other sites, usually show their true colors here, soon enough and find themselves suspended.
We mods do and will discuss this sort of topic privately, but this one is not a priority ( to me ) .

I concur.Quote: billryanI don't think people should be penalized for their comments on other sites unless it really crosses the line.
It's no secret that I look in on a few forums and see what are often hostile comments from ex-members or temporarily suspended members. I even engage on other forums sometimes by post or PM. Other moderators may, or may not look in on those places. They are aware of them.
Do insults there influence our opinions? Probably. But life's too short to worry about such comments.

I have no idea what you my have said, but some things I can see be penalty worthy is talking about raping or killing a moderator, taking shots at a mods family or suggesting two or more mods have sex with each other in more vulgar terms.
Venting and complaining should be fine.

Indeed. I respect that.
