Maybe disrespectful, but not pejorative.

I reckon you fell into his trap by paying homage to the thread title. Maybe we should have had Mdawg's adventures thread pay homage to a certain 'corner,' but too late now. $:o)

I will not appreciate seeing any more threads created to obviously relate to any one member. We have Mdawg's adventures and his investments. That's more than enough attention, regardless of positive or negative.

I'd like to talk about my investments. Should I start my own thread or piggyback on to the already existing thread or threads?
I'll go with the first green response.

Well, AIUI, Wizard has said that he doesn't object to members having 'their own corner'
However, He's also expressed a dislike for parody threads which can be perceived as trolling. Plus, IMHO, some of the threads we already have are detracting from the remit of the forum. Do you really want to pollute this place further than it already has been?
I'd suggest looking for threads that are already on topic, which might be revived.

I'm neither approving, nor disapproving your proposed thread.
Of course, DT would welcome your thread, but I suspect that would not satisfy your urge.

This is the reason I started this thread
Been thinking about it for awhile
Got one over at DT but not as detailed
I saw the other "adventure" thread
Going gambling over and over and over same game
Not really an adventure. If anything, boring
Meanwhile for the last year on FB
I get message after message about loving my adventures from close friends
I know a lot of people on this forum. I've personally met a lot and have never attended a spring fling.
I played golf with Soopoo, hung out in Vegas with different members.
Since I am having a REAL adventure and my FB friends been cheering me on for a year
Figured I would share my REAL adventures here.

I also saw that Mdawg posted about the Beverly hills robbery but just posted what he read on the internet
It's not an adventure if you were not there and just posting stories he read
I was there
I had a REAL adventure
I thought members here would appreciate real adventures, not a regurgitated internet story
Of course I will prove my adventures for free but I am sure there is no doubt my adventures are REAL.
And
I think they are interesting reading instead of I won at bac over and over

Billy.... if you are being serious... my WoV stock portfolio thread is open for all such discussions. Feel free to tag along. I’ll bump it so it will be easy to find. Actually, your investments in memorabilia are probably more interesting than my stock picks...

Feee at last, free at last, thank Wiz almighty I am free at last.

BTW, this suspension serves as a clear warning that I'd be foolish to continue to post on this forum as I most recently had been doing: lesson learned.

Thanks for the kind words and thanks for sundering the chains that bound me, but you misunderstand: I am not leaving the board, I'm just cleaning up my act a bit.

I'll continue to wallow in the filth and mire, but not here.

From now on when I post here I'll be good, I swear I will.

At least I'll try.

Darkoz, I've nothing against you, nor any other AP.

I can be combative and insulting online (not sure why: it's a Jekyl / Hyde sort of thing) but in real life I'm quite the mellow fellow.

rdw4potus and I met at a WoV Spring Fling, or maybe twice, as I attended two of them.

I checked out the spring fling 2021 thread and it looks like it won't be happening this year.

Bummer: I was hoping to attend and give any of my detractors a chance to either talk smack to me face to face or come to realize we are not always in real life what we type on a keyboard, and that at the end of the day "It don't mean nothin.'"

I am even more of who I am in real life then I am behind the keyboard. My wife hates that I love face-to-face confrontation because she hates it. I'm the last person anybody wants to start an argument with in person. If I ever went to one of those get-togethers people would tell me, Bob, you're even more of a jerk in person then you are online. I would be so proud..

Why would anyone want to be a jerk? I am always confrontational, but rarely a jerk. Of course, when you are always right like I am it is easy to be nice and condescending at the same time.

Being right doesn't make anyone a jerk. I just tell people that I am right and they are wrong, and I leave it at that. Why would I argue with someone that is wrong. If they aren't smart enough to realize that I am always right, they aren't worth my time.

If I am ever wrong, I might change my tune.

I did indeed say I would like to meet EvenBob at a Spring Fling. But no way would I pay him money for that opportunity, much less $10 to 15K.

I can't imagine paying anyone $10 to 15K to be my escort at a Spring Fling, no matter what skills and attributes they had,

Why wouldn't you go?

I doubt you're so wealthy that ten grand means nothing: it's a lot of dough, plus expenses.

Ka-ching!

I think the real question is: What are you atraid might happen to you if you went?

Are you embarrassed by your physical appearance?

Are you a social zero, unable to deal with people?

I don't think so.

He's simply trying to be clever, don't you see?

It's a variation on the old "Have you stopped beating your wife?" trap: there is no viable "yes" or "no" answer.

It's rhetorical quicksand.

Whatever, I don't feel insulted by his comment at all, considering the source.

But I'm not a mod, so my opinion on the matter probably isn't worth much, given the standard of judgment should be objective and not subjective.
