Quote: GWAEPeople actually PM you asking for suspensions? That is really petty. People need to get thicker skin.
Yeah, they usually PM if they don’t have any of the Admins’ phone numbers, otherwise it’s sometimes a text or call.
Quote: beachbumbabsUmmm. Yeah. Near-constant. Been that way for years. I doubt I even get the majority of the complaints, at that.
You probably do since about March, or so.

I read that a certain Admin got nasty messages sent to their HOUSE! O.O

Wasn’t me. Mail would be a very slow way of trying to attract my attention, especially since I only remember to go pick it up about once a month...on a good month.
1Quote: GWAEwow sorry to hear that. I honestly had no idea. I figured maybe once in a while but didn't think it would be all the time. I can't imagine every complaining to a mod, its like running to the teacher. People need to get over it, block them if they have to.
I think there should be a 3 day ban for asking for a suspension that doesnt result in a suspension. Kinda like embelishment in hockey.
Why deprive anyone of the only joy they have in their pitiful existence? Remember, all of Gods creatures have a place in the choir. Some go low, some go higher.

Pitiful existence that seems harsh lol. Let’s remeber this is an Internet forum lol.

Thank you.

Only you could confuse a cat with a wumpus.
Penalty would have been 3 days, but that felt mean since he did make some effort.
I realise this is a subjective judgement and I'm receptive to feedback.
Quote: OnceDear777 suspended for 2 days (my timezone) for insufficiently obfuscating an obsenity. Dropping the 'c' just didn't seem sufficient. Sorry 777.

My feedback is he has a high "suspension to post-count" ratio, at least as of late.

Too harsh.
I think it was a few months ago, RonC dropped an f-bomb in a politics thread (spelled it correctly too), and another mod just edited his post and gave him a warning.
I could read that two ways... That we mods have been overly harsh or 777 has been too often worthy of a ban. Inclined to keep it at 2days but as UK time it will be barely 1.5.Quote: RSMy feedback is he has a high "suspension to post-count" ratio, at least as of late.
My fave obfuscation of the F-word is a switch of the c and u as in the popular fashion brand. But I think even that breaks the spirit of the rule and would not use that here.
Note. No political bias.

I thought that suspension was too harsh. I don’t view “naïve” as a personal insult really either. He even masked it by misspelling! ;)
Quote: OnceDearOuch!
The Martingale policy is what it is. It isn't like the previous suspensions were spaced far apart.
Also, I find it kind of annoying when people spell naive with two dots above the i.
Maybe it wasn't an insult. Maybe he was promoting his new rock band and forgot to capitalise the 'N'Quote: WizardAlso, I find it kind of annoying when people spell naive with two dots above the i.

On an iPhone it’s much more difficult to spell without the two dots. You would have to override the autocorrect.

I was hurt to my core. After reading it I had to go to my quiet room that I built off of my house. I was able to play with some bubbles and silly putty until I felt strong enough to leave.

Or naive anyway.
And at approximately the same time I. I think personal insults and their suspension worthiness have a lot more to do with the context of the rest of the that post or ongoing posts , as opposed to the specific word that’s used.
The cursing rule is more based on certain keywords

I think it also makes a difference when you've worn out you welcome. Probably the same as previous offenders and first offenders in court, casinos, school, etc.

Quote: AxelWolfIt's obvious WatchMeWin was getting to close too the truth about bubble craps floor magnets and he had to be silenced at once.
With all of the cheating organizations and people in the world, why are we supposed to automatically believe everything a casino says? Is it because a commission somehow makes them more honest than any other business? There has never been a "dirty" commission before, right? They show us all the information about every game, don't they?

It is a long-standing precedent to keep doubling the sentence for repeat offenders.
Speaking of the punishment not fitting the crime, how about this case: 25 Years for a Slice of Pizza.

I think he got off light. If I was one of the kids parents he might wish that all he got was 25 years in prison.

She edited her very reply to that to the single word 'Nevermind' and then posted another in the thread with the single word and emoticon 'Nevermind ;)'

Since she cannot resist this behaviour for a single day, she can take out 3 days to read and re-read the forum rules and ponder her purpose here.

Those few of us who peruse the other forum, DT, are not so pleased. She has moved her drivel over there instead. New thread on her numbers that she predicts will happen in next two weeks! For all those who will miss such quality and thoughtful posts.....

DT is Wizard's forum too, more so in some ways than this one. Happily for me I have no moderator status there.
If members on 'another forum' are not too please about stuff on that forum, then I suppose they might discuss it on that forum.
The thing I ponder is whether 'She has moved her drivel over there' or whether she is going to duplicate her drivel over there. On past form...

Well dang.
How am I going to get my fix for scintillating lottery picks for the next 3 days?
I have her thread blocked, so I rarely ever have to see her posts. Every once and a while she'll wander into a politics thread and everyone seems to ignore her posts and she goes away. It's really not that hard to not have to deal with her...
