Quote: FinsRuleSo are you saying you lose more than you should if you don't use right strategy?
I actually don't have enough data to opine on that. It actually looks like the win percentage is pretty close for an incorrect strategy player, but the numbers that you land on are not evenly distributed. I think I'd need at least 10x the data, and it's not worth it.
To minimize variance, and probably increase your average pay, just play with the better odds.

Yeah, going against the grain in the dolphin bonus leads to higher payouts, but has a greater chance to fail.
i just reached lvl 100. i have ~700k in play chips and ~160k in loyalty chips. and have completed building all structures.
I've heard that you can only win 2000 LP through the coin meter.
You can win as many as you want with the level up and daily spin, but the gold coin meter only allows for 2000.
I'm having problem with the word "catch". You can only lose something if you buy chips.
I have bought 29 bucks in chips and cashed in 250 in comps.
The closest think to a catch for free players is not being able to get the comps you want.
I hope to pick up the 50 bucks Monte Carlo food credit but it's always sold out.
It's the only one that lets you eat what and where you want within the casino.
It's a solid game. Even better if you are planning a trip to Vegas. I guess it's entertaining.
Quote: wrobersonI think 500 is the highest level.
That's been upped I think. Should I dare ask what level CrystalMath is at? I'm currently at 145 and have earned over 460k LP total. I redeemed 256k LP in May and plan to redeem 180k more of them next month. :D

Three and 1/2 of us ( my wife's account joined the party a little late ) have been playing since Feb ( ? ) and just got back from a trip to LV. All that play was enough for our group to get:
- 4 Premium Tix to Cirque Beatles Love
- 4 Good Seats to Terry Fator
- 4 Premium Seats to Zarkana
- $75 at the Sporting House Restaurant at NYNY
- 2 Premium Tix to O at Bellagio ( Front Row Center )
- Some Misc bogo monorail passes
That is WAY more shows than we normally see in a trip, all thanks to myVegas. I did buy about $ 50 in chips to get a 4th redemption which I consider a good investment, and I think one of my friends bought some chips along the way as well.
I stayed at Harrah's which made the shows at Mirage very convenient. LOVE and O were excellent, Zarkana and Terry Fator were very good, and the Sporting House food was just OK. The ARIA theatre for Zarkana was fantastic, at least where we sat the seats were extra wide and comfortable.
Note: I was pleasantly surprised to see 9/6 JoB at the 25 cent level at NYNY. Those machines did not accept a player's club card, but so what ?

Level 344. 572k LP (in addition to that, I redeemed 278k around April), which I get mainly from leveling up. I've heard of players at level 600+.
Quote: FinsRuleAria is taking forever to build, is there a secret to getting those V's?
I don't remember slots but play the ones with the most reels, at the lowest chips per spin. The V's come up regardless so save money.

people often suggest this, but I still would recommend playing at the "smaller" optimal bet (200 or 300) as long you have the chips.
Also a good idea is to coordinate the times when you finish buildings, so that all the properties become due at a convenient time for you. For example, if your most convenient time for you to collect is around 9:30 pm, try to finish your properties in such a way where they become due at 9:35 pm, so you can easily "double dip". Keep in mind though that myVegas collections don't adjust with daylight savings.
And to remind everyone, the properties reset with the following time periods:
Monte Carlo, Circus Circus, NYNY: 2 hours
Mirage, Excalibur, Bellagio: 4 hours
Luxor, Aria, Mandalay Bay: 6 hours
MGM Grand: 8 hours
Meanwhile, Caesar's finally got its VP game going (right now, it's just 9/6 JoB, with Royals paying 800 at all betting levels, and up to 50 hands at once, although it's only one XP per $20 bet). If only they would offer stuff the way MLife does...

Yeah so why do you play the CET games? I assume just for fun, but then why not play myVegas for fun AND comps?
I'm at 25K LP on this account, 280K on my own account, looking to get my wife's upto about 100K before booking meals with hers and shows / more meals with mine. Our hotel stay will be with CET for three nights.
Quote: bigfoot66Yeah so why do you play the CET games? I assume just for fun, but then why not play myVegas for fun AND comps?
I play (a) for fun and (b) "just in case" Caesar's gets its act together and starts offering stuff, I'll have quite a few XPs in hand. (Also, I was under the impression that you could earn TR points somehow, but that might be limited to buying chips, which I never do.)
Actually, I pretty much stopped playing Caesar's (I mainly played just blackjack) when myVegas opened, but I need my VP fix. Maybe myVegas will get the message and start up some VP of its own.
Quote: ThatDonGuyWarning - there might be a bug in Frontier Fortunes. I got the Hi-Lo Bonus, but lost on the first card; however, I got something like 10,000 chips instead of the usual 1200 or so for a first-card loss. The problem is, the 300,000 chips I had prior to playing the bonus suddenly disappeared, and now all I have are the 10,000. (Fortunately, my LPs did not get reduced.)
Did you accidentally forget to lower the bet before setting autospin? I have lost a bundle doing that before, and would explain why you got 10,000 for losing the first round instead of 1500 or whatever. Especially if you got an award like 11,503 or some other number that doesn't make a lot of sense.
Quote: tringlomaneDid you accidentally forget to lower the bet before setting autospin?
Been there, done that ! Mostly now I am playing basis strategy Blackjack per Crystal Math's analysis / recommendation.
Another new thing, fairly new are chip sharing groups. I was invited to be part of one of the very first. I quit the group eventually and made my chip shares open to the public again. It's a lot of work copying all the links, but there were a few glitches. One that was still working is with the Movie Slot. When you finish the award ceremony at the end, click the OKAY in the center star As many times as possible before the curtain call and you can generate 10-20 chip shares for your group or friends. It used to be like this for all the games, but they fixed most of them. That's when I quit the group. I was the guy who discovered the glitches because I was impatient and was like slamming the mouse button. Then I got all these shares. I was posting 500-700 shares a day for a while. That's when the group thing happened. And in a nod to Bob Dancer, I also told myVegas about the glitches. It took them 2 months to fix it. And there's one that worked for me the other day.
You should also be aware and it fall under the worth it category, many of the premium comps are sold out and to get them, you need to be fast. You need to be logged in and be constantly clicking the reward you want. You need to be up at 7am Vegas time. I got 2 I wanted this morning.
Anyways, I am also updating my trip to Vegas here as it relates to myVegas being "worth it". It's worth it....

I also did a CHIP SHARE group for a few weeks before we went to Vegas. And I agree it was too much work and too time consuminig copying and posting the links to stay in it. So I also dropped out of it.
But myVegas turned out to be a great deal for us and we saw a ton of shows thanks to myVegas. It would be fantastic if the prizes could stay somewhere near the same value they have been earlier this year, but I am not optimistic about that.
I started on 7/18/13, and as of today I am at 70K in gold. I am on Level 55.
Now I just need to book a trip...

The game has helped motivate me and my g/f (who likes Vegas less, but she loves the stuff myVegas gives us) to book 2 trips this year. :) Keep an eye out on flights/hotels!
Just got MGM Grand built, about 3000 XP short of level 91
Terry Fator
75 Sporting House Credit
75 Steakhouse
Beatles LOVE
Bard Garrett's Comedy
Delights Entree
About $475.00 in free shows and food in a year and will have 325-400K in points left to spend.
Fin seems to be moving along at a good pace. Will have about 700k by next Labor Day...
Thank you.

Only downside is you can't use space bar on the slots.
I read through about 7 out of the 58 pages. If anyone has some updates or tips, please let me know.
One question I have, I don't use any real info on my FB account. It's pretty much a dummy account. If I want to get real rewards, how would I end up doing that?
Quote: PerditionI just started after seeing you guys posts in here. At least you earn free stuff, The Caesars one I tried a few weeks ago seems to have no real world value.

When you purchase a reward, you will have to call myVegas occasionally to actually redeem the reward. It's actually Mlife desk at the casino. They will ask for a reference number which is on the confirmation. They will them ask you if you have an Mlife card. If you don't you will be signed up for one over the phone. They might mail you the card, or you can ask to pick it up at the Mlife desk. You will then redeem your rewards and have the hotel stay or show tickets booked.
I don't know how the monorail tickets work. Most likely the same and you'll have to go pick up your rail pass at the "box office".

You just have to give real name info to MGM by connecting that Facebook account to an MLife account to redeem rewards. You don't need to give any info to Facebook itself.
Quote: lvbillhereYes, that's me. Do you have another date for the Downtown Grand to open?
Did you mean to post that to this thread?
Anyway, the reservation button on the Downtown Grand's website says that the first night for rooms is Sunday 10/27.

Yeah, pretty worthless unless you are due for a 10k level up soon (not me).

Too bad it's only for slots.
Quote: CrystalMathToo bad it's only for slots.
Even if it was (wudged is claiming it isn't, fwiw), you would likely still be able to gain most of your XP on blackjack and then move over to slots to level up. I do this at my local casino with certain slot machines that have point multipliers and they are near by. It gives the multiplier even if you earned most of the point on a 1X game.
Quote: beachbumbabsI bought the monorail pass 2for1 for this coming week, and the confirmation letter says I just have to present the paper at the monorail station to get it honored. FWIW; I'll find out soon if that's all there is to it.
They may ask for ID to verify it's you that purchased the award. But you should always have your ID in Vegas because you're going to lock up a machine, right? ;)

Yes, that's how it worked for me on my last trip. Fast and Easy, but you have to go to a mono station that has a person at it. Those are listed on the letter.
Quote: ThatDonGuyThis weekend, there's some sort of "Monorail Bonus" - if enough people play, they'll add the monorail to MyVegas somehow (probably just another item to build, like a hotel). I finished the bonus in 250 spins, although the amount/spin (6000 in my case) might have an effect on how often the bonus items showed up.
Hopefully if enough ppl do it it will be more valuable than wolfgang puck's.
Quote: PerditionI was doing minimum 60 bets on Excalibur 1 on my alt account to get Bellagio pieces and I was getting a monorail part 1 every 20 spins or so. Maybe it's more spin based than bet based but either way doesn't seem too bad.
Most of these bonuses are XP based, but people at higher levels sometimes have to earn more slash get a bigger reward for finishing.
I redeemed the reward and ate my meal with no problems at checkout.
The reward is still in My Purchases as "Pending Redemption." It expires in 2 days. Should I try to refund it and get the LP back, even though I've already used it?
Quote: ams288So I used the Monte Carlo dining credit for $50 a couple months ago. When I was there, the MLife guy told me the system was down so he'd have to do everything by hand.

That would be dishonest.

If you want to be unethical, you probably could get away with it. :P I'd probably let it expire.
