Quote: harrisA very cool person in the table games industry recommended I make a new website for the strategy/math/odds part. Such a website would be really easy for me to make look good since I wouldn't have to worry about glitches like I do on my casino demo website.
I feel like I should further differentiate my website from Wizard of Odds but I am not sure how yet. I was thinking of openly posting the code used to find the math in each instance. I can't think of a downside, it might get more people interested in the field, but it also might not be interesting to more than a dozen people, the majority of whom are retired/semi-retired Wizard of Odds forum members.
Let me know what you think of this idea or if you have any other suggestions.

My suggestion is to study this site from 2017-2019, compare and contrast it with today's traffic, figure out what went wrong, and avoid repeating those mistakes. Something has driven away 90% of the old posters.
A good magician never reveals his methods, and isn't a wizard just a magician with a pointed hat?
There is a new website coming soon that will teach you the strategy and odds for every game. The first draft will be released here within a week.
Youtube is the undisputed king of gambling misinformation now. Look to it if you wanna be successful. I could show you pages and pages of (sad) comments where people fail at a gamble scam and pledge to keep trying.
ExWiz's videos on youtube have almost no tractions despite being very informative. Part of it is presentation, but the biggest problem is that no one actually wants it. They want to know how they can pull one over on casino operators.
If you want to be successful, run a scam.
Not exactly related, but what framework are you using for your site? And clean up your CSS.
This is not the best example of code I’ve ever written… the type of code I expect nobody other than me to contribute to ever 😆
My new website that I’m working on is infinitely more organized. And I’ll use CSS nesting there per your suggestion :)
I don’t want to be a scammer… my current goal is to not have a “Controversies” section on my Wikipedia article. Also it doesn’t matter than the Wizard of Odds YouTube channel never took off (though I would be really happy if I made videos with hundreds of thousands of views) because the website is very well-known, almost all gamblers and pit bosses I’ve met are familiar with it.
Also, I like the post upstair from itsmejeff. When you sell a table game, sell some scams on the side. It’s a dog-eat-dog world after all.
People who want to learn are a small group. Compare it to "Cowboy Slots", an actual moron, who has 6 employees from telling people that he holds the secrets to slots because he knows how to replace TITO paper. Or the late "Professor Slots" who still has people paying for his youtube membership despite not having any idea where the money is even going (probably his daughter, I guess).
For the amount of work you are putting into this, you might want an exit strategy. The money is not in gambling education. Though i guess you could try to transition to a consulting business (unless you already have one).
And the other issue is "AI." There are loads of scam "AI" sites selling "AI" slop that will be stealing from whatever you do. Like people are inventing "AI" "experts" in every field, having chatGPT write a book, and then selling it to rubes on gumroad. It costs them almost nothing and takes no time to do it. That is a serious problem.
You do not have to do anything, but a real framework + modern css or a preprocessor/framework would make your life much easier.
It needs to be indexable if you want people to use it. Even linking to it will be a problem if it does not go directly to a game.
I don't know who said it, but someone once asked, "Are you climbing the mountain so the world sees you, or are you climbing it to see the world?"
Quote: billryanIs your goal to educate gamblers about the games, or to build awareness of who you are? Neither is wrong, but they seem like separate goals.

I don't think my ego or self-promotion are going too far but obviously everyone has some sort of ulterior motivation (profit, fame, sex, etc.) in anything. My main goal is to become the utmost authority on table games which will secure me a high-paying career and freedom to travel the world.
My Braille project to help visually-impaired ethnic minorities was wayyyy more ego-driven than anything I've done in the gambling sphere.

I'd expect your Braille project to be very popular in the Ivory Coast. Among the Ivorians.
Get it? Y vior rien?
That's a good goal you have. Many of us on the other side of the table have the same security and freedom, and without anyone realizing we are authorities on table games! Take it from someone who suffers from high self-esteem and a superiority complex: the public ego and the internalized ego can provide two different kinds of satisfaction. Which is better all depends on your personality. Some people want their greatness to be widely recognized, others like it better playing it close to the vest and recognizing greatness in oneself.

Yes the local Mandinka and Fulani speaking minorities greatly appreciated my efforts in 2021.
All of my work is inspired by my grandfather Albert. His family came from extreme poverty and segregation in Poland and through his mathematical genius he became successful in many fields in the United States such as economics, statistics, and even nuclear safety.

To follow up on this again, I think my websites actually have a few more important goals. Some game inventors have paid me to create demos for them to help showcase their inventions. Having a website that showcases strategy and teaches you how to play without needing to waste money can help game inventors and casinos just as much as players. Finally, I want to help inspire the next generation of casino mathematicians.
The Braille project was not just about ego, nor just about helping blind people. The "real purpose" was to help revitalize endangered languages and show communities around the world that their traditional speech is just as important and relevant as major languages like English and French. Of course the "real real purpose" was to get various minority groups in Eastern Europe and other sensitive geopolitical regions to be sympathetic to Americans. China can grant you a loan, Russians can sell you weapons, but Americans can give you a solution.
