I Need Clarification on Face-Up 3CP Strategy

Raise if at least one (or two) player cards match dealer’s suit, otherwise fold

However, I am wondering...

Is this ONLY if I am playing the 3-card Bonus? If I am just playing the regular game with no bonuses would this invalidate this suggestion?

I haven't been asked about that game for years. I would avoid any side bets. The only advantage to be had in any of the LA casinos is by banking. If you can't afford that, I wouldn't play.
