Anyone know the house edge on this Progressive side bet for Crazy 4 Poker? I don't see it on the odds site.

I saw this at the MGM Grand Detroit tonight:

The bet is based on the player's 4 card hand. Bet is $1.

Four Aces - Progressive
Four of a kind - 300 to 1
Straight Flush - 100 to 1
Three of a kind - 15 to 1

The progressive was around $13,000.

I calculate a return of 72.48% (house edge of 27.52%) with a $13,000 jackpot, under the assumption that the lower prizes are actually on a "for one" basis rather than a "to one" basis as indicated.

The bet becomes positive with a jackpot of $27,898.34.
The average jackpot hit rate is once every 54,145 hands.
The average overall hit rate is once every 42.36 hands.

Four Aces ...................... 48 combinations
Four 2s thru Ks ............. 576 combinations
Straight Flush ............. 2072 combinations
Three of a Kind ......... 58656 combinations
All Other ............... 2537608 combinations

Did you happen to notice what the meter moves for each $1 bet? Not that it matters in the decision at this point.

No I wasn't playing. Just happened to walk by and notice a different progressive from the other casinos in the area.

I enjoy Crazy 4 Poker so I'm sure I'll hit up that table sometime in the near future.

And thanks to JB for that quick analysis.
