Promo Chips

If you are issued "play until you lose" promo chips, do they play exactly as you would standard chips at Blackjack? I've had these many times but this time I was dealt a blackjack and offered insurance. I don't recall having that before with the promo chips.
It was the first hand of the shoe and I declined insurance as I normally would. Afterwards I started wondering if these promo chips are played differently in any scenarios?

At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.
