As you know we currently get our lines from https://www.vegasinsider.com/nfl/odds/las-vegas/ . We have always used their consensus lines which was always listed second. Some time between now and who knows ( maybe even years), they moved the consensus line to the end. I just now noticed. I don't want to mess with my not very commented code in the middle of the season, so it looks like we will use the BetMGM lines unless it is an easy fix.

That was just this season. I noticed that it changed (on VI website), but figured that your program would know that. I don't understand how programming works. Oh well. The BetMGM Lines are fine.

Playoff Picks Game
Greetings!
It's about that time for me to gauge interest in the Playoff Picks Game. If you want to commit to playing, then please say so in this thread. Probably next week I will also send out PM's to get commitments from participants in this game...though you don't have to play this game to play the Playoff Picks game.
The prize pool for the Playoff Picks Game will be less because it's only four game weeks, but it's a total Free Roll. I think I'm going to use the same points structure that I used last time I did the Playoff Picks Game. The Prize Breakdown will (probably) be as follows:
1st Place---$125
2nd Place---$50
3rd Place---$25
Most Average---$25
You Suck---$25
I think we have about 20 still in this game, so I'm probably going to want to see at least 18 commitments (including myself) to playing the Playoff Picks Game to go ahead with that. My biggest frustration with the Playoff Picks Game is that it's a total Free Roll, yet participation still tends to drop way off.
I want to say that we have a little bit of funds from the Picks game two years ago that went unclaimed, so those will likely be either added to First Place for Playoff Picks Game or used to create a separate prize. What I might do (it's a small amount anyway) is bet them on the consensus winner (based on the Playoff Picks) and just keep letting it ride...see if we can get four straight and turn it into something...and then either use that as initial seed for the March Madness game or just split it amongst all Prize Winners of Playoff Picks as additional prize.

Okay, so I looked and the Perfection Bonuses that were unclaimed/donated were as follows:

When we establish whether or not we are going to have a Playoff game (when I get at least seventeen commitments) I will put it to a vote what we do with these funds. We can either carry them over to NCAA Tournament, just add them to Playoff Picks Prizes as they are now...or bet them on the Playoff Picks consensus winners. Assuming -110 Lines all the way, we could conceivably add:
26.67 + (26.67 * 100/110) = $50.91 (I assume rounds down always)
50.91 + (50.91 * 100/110) = $97.19
97.19 + (97.19 * 100/110) = $185.54
185.54 + (185.54 * 100/110) = $354.21
So, that would actually more than double the prize pool I am offering if our consensus could go 4-0.
That said, $25 is right about the line where I would feel better to take a vote on it than to just do something like that. We're obviously unlikely to go 4-0.

Note: Last week, in Week 10 there was a slight error/typo. I'm only noticing it now.

The T&C's will be quite clear that I can not use information in this way unless I had a suitable explanation prepared in advance in case of discovery.
Since this site is well known in that community because of the grey area in use of the "leave while you are ahead" and betting progression explanations for exorbitant winnings to meet this requirement, I have unfortunately been found out.
So, I am sad to report that my DeLorean has been seized, along with all profits gained through its use.

This past week, I too picked 4 underdogs and 1 Under. I still went 2-3. It seems as if one must pick the correct underdogs and the correct games that will go Under.
