Say you are chatting with someone on must hit worth $150, they leave it, you hit it in 5 meter moves, and win almost $400. What should you do is the poll question?

FYI. Don't really know them, just recognize them, know they work at Wally world, think they normally lose whole paycheck gambling.

Say nothing, give nothing. I have found sharing my good fortune at gambling with friends is a one way street.

You arent responsible for their gambling problems. You had a legit win. Keep it

Unless they are someone who has done a likewise move for you in the past you have no obligation

OTH if you truly feel guilt over it recognize you are giving this person money to satisfy yourself and NOT helping the other person

Most likely you will only watch as 15 minutes later the money you handed him is right back inside the slot machine

You wont be helping him either way

Give NOTHING. It was your money wagered. If he had scouted for you and gave you an EV+ play, then I think it would merit you giving him a cut, but other than that... give nothing.

I would give nothing and not feel guilty about it. Heck, I don't even tell my wife when I win and it is usually her money that I am gambling.

LOL. I sure hope she does not read here but if she does I want you to know that despite my finances I will chip in for a funeral wreath for you.

I'd pretty much never give cash to a degen.

However, if I liked the person I might buy them lunch or something at some point in the future.

It's not really guilt. But he got unlucky and you got lucky. It's just a decent thing to do.

Maybe if it was that million dollar machine that hadn't hit in years, and I hit it right after someone got up, I might throw some bills their way. Not normally though.

Nope. And don't feel bad about it. It's all luck.

Paris LV, March 2014. I max bet QHP machine that was ripe (not linked) @1.50 for 12 hours straight, with 9 QH progressive over 22,400. Got up @ 4am, moved over 1 machine. Little old Asian lady sat down quick, 3-4 pulls later, she hit it. She grabbed me, hugged me, thanked me for getting up, cried for a while. Not a dime came my way. And I didn't expect one. TBH, slight grudge for an hour, 99% envy, then I was over it. But I won't forget it happened, either. First time I saw those machines hit 9QH.

I didn't realise you were such an unlucky and degenerate gambler.

That is totally brutal. I would have gone on tilt after that.

But the way the RNG spins, BBB may have missed the timing of the winning combo if she didn't get up. If it then hit on the machine she didn't move to... well, let's not go down that rabbit hole...

Could not believe I saw the guy as soon as I came in, I gave him $50. Seems like a good will payment, I'll get another machine from him eventually.

It's just politics. I like winning, when it's too easy, sometimes you have to offer some dignity. Sometimes, not all the time. Had I spent 30 minutes with no loss, before hitting the progressive, my opinion would have been different. Had it been a different game, my opinion would have been different. It's a rare circumstance. Had he not told me he was going to leave it before he did, I would have assumed he would stay with it and someone else would have hit it.

I had just gotten to the casino this morning when I spotted an open ended progressive 60% bigger than any I'd ever seen. Didn't even have a chance to play it when I saw him coming by. After I paid him, hit that thing in two spins, instantly had the $50 returned to me 5 times over. 5,000 nickel insurance to your prophecy.

Good move, I did something very similar when a guy left me a good bar on the machine where horticulture battles the undead and he saw me hit the Free Games in just a couple spins. He pretty much lost everything he had on him trying to hit them.
