Good luck hope she wins. I'll most likely never play it.Quote: BuzzardIf going, better go soon. Josie has plans for that 2 million !
Quote: mickeycrimmThe earliest youtube video of Lions Share is Dec 2011, and the meter was at $2,252,000.
If it helps at all, I have a photo from late August, 2010, and the meter was at $2,217,361.
Quote: IbeatyouracesTaxes will make this -EV.
Be Canadian (or British) and claim the taxes back. Though that may have changed since I last looked.
Quote: BuzzardNo sure $2,000,000 is enough to compensate for becoming a Canadian , EH ? ? ?
I'll take $2 million and being Canadian over $2 million and being American. :)
Quote: teddysThere was an article about Lion's Share in the Wall Street Journal today.

I just got around to reading this article today - the Wiz was quoted near the end. Did they update the article?

Or did one of the Wizard's minions hack it?
What would be the smart way to bet?
Quote: NareedIf anyone makes a pool about when, or whether, the progressive will pay up, let me know. I'd like to put one dollar down.
I'd take the YES on within 1827 days of this date, Even Money, $1.

If you'll repeat that in terms I can comprehend, I'll take the bet.
The hard part will be sending $1 in payment over international boundaries.

He is betting that the jackpot will hit in the next 1827 days (5 years including 2 leap days?)
You are betting that it won't.
A $1 bet that takes 5 years to resolve... this is worse than roulette.
Okay, maybe not, I think my advantage on that is about 7%, but what are you going to do?
I'll take the YES on it hitting within the next 1,702 days, Even Money. My advantage on the bet, assuming Wizard's numbers are correct (limited sample) and that spins/day remains consistent is a hair over 2%. For $1, of course.

What's with the days? Have you been reading up on Astronomy? ;)
Ok. In solar years, that's 4.66 years (365.25 days per year, rounded a bit). Now 0.66 of 12 is 7.92 months. 0.92 of a month would be the next step.

I renamed then since they spell certain doom for any team that plays against them. Actually I made a typo.
Quote: BuzzardMe too, cesspit. But what about becoming a Brit ? God save the Queen
That's an honour money just can't buy :)
Build it in Vegas as a hobbit house and maybe you recoup money from the tours.Quote: BuzzardJosie is planning on building a new home with the jackpot, and using the front plate of the machine as our front door.

He has a few other videos of him playing it one of which its pretty recent.
"Can I get a Michelob Ultra with a glass of ice, please?"
Geez buddy, why don't you ask her to put a Jolly Rancher in it too.
Dude puts on a good show and it's entertaining and hilarious. Now you try lol.Quote: nmacgre"Can I get a Michelob Ultra with a glass of ice, please?"

I agree. He did a good job with that video.

Fine I will. Next time I'm at the MGM I will make my Lion's Share video, and it will be REALLY good.

You obviously didn't watch the whole video closely. The "Now you try" was a joke/slash trying to get you involved in the video. If you do bother to tape the game, be careful though. The most recent video the guy put up, he was yelled at by security.
Seriously? Hilarious? You are easily amused. You must be rolling to the floor while watching hillbilly reality shows. I dislike guys like that. I will say, he took out some of the boring aspects of watching reels spin with no action. I give him a 3.5 for trying.Quote: onenickelmiracleDude puts on a good show and it's entertaining and hilarious. Now you try lol.
Quote: SFBOur little slot machine even makes the National News:
LionsShare on WSJ
It was the questions of that reporter that got me interested in the game. I'm unhappy that after about three conversations we had about the game the only mention of me was calling the game fishy. I think he got that from this post. However, it is always good to get mentioned in the WSJ.
I guess the press helped.
Quote: Paradigmbut I won't sit and wait to play either.
Heh, when this finally hits, I want to also hear the story of the person who just got up just before it hit. Always good for a story.
