After looking around the Wizard of Odds site including the Ask the Wizard Column, I have a question. As we have all seen live/TV a tournament gets down to the final two looking for a tournament victory. My question is, "What is the minimum final Texas Hold'em hand (after river) that wins 50% or more of the time?" Thanks for the great sites.

Q-7 beats a random hand more than 50% heads up. Also K-3. Any Ace beats a random hand over 50% time.

Wrap your mind on this.
22 beats AK not suited over 50% time. AK beat 7 8 suited over 50% time. 7 8 suited beats 22 over 50% of the time.

Q5 suited also wins 50%+ and has an EV that covers the 5% rake.

But when all cards are dealt to the river, What is the worst final hand that wins 50% or better heads-up... 2 Pair? Jacks w/Ace Kicker? 99K?

In a two player game when all cards are dealt to the river, J-7 suited is the worst starting hand that will win more than 50% of the time.

Well its a dead thread... but my investigation did reveal the following circumstance.

A pair of 5's will win 50%+ when no Str, and no flush on the board.

Cheers
