There are a number of things that make me doubt the. Veracity of the article.

Today roulette wheels use algorithms? Really? I thought it was same old tried and true physics!

there is no doubt at all that the article is true. this is his New York Times obituary - he died last August

there is a thread about him at bjtf - there are several there who knew him and one or two who teamed up with him in other ventures

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/08/obituaries/richard-jarecki-doctor-who-conquered-roulette-dies-at-86.html

there is a great quote from the Doc in the article referring to casino managers who hassled him. he said:

"if casino managers don't like to lose they should sell vegetables"
"𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦"..........ᴍɪᴋᴇ ᴛyꜱᴏɴ

I wish these guys would write autobiographies to be published upon their death.
