Feel free to jump in on any suggestions/convo's.Oh boy!Quote: Romes
Ya I'm going to suggest that my team and anyone else that normally bets the 1/2 points lay low this week due to Romes jinxing effect ☺.
At least see what GWAE is betting first.
I say this is our week.
I'm also in contention for the you suck prize. So take m7 advice for what it's worth, but they wouldn't be my picks (which is kinda the point ). :)
Solid info... However Mike said he might need assistance getting the bets in... So would you or anyone else available to you be able to get out bets in? PM or text me to figure the stuff out.Quote: AxelWolf...Ya I'm going to suggest that my team and anyone else that normally bets the 1/2 points lay low this week due to Romes jinxing effect ☺...
Anyone else in Vegas willing to put some bets in? I figure we can safely bet the team money this way by having the person bet their own money (~$250) and get re-reimbursed from the Wizard, which we know will happen. This isn't necessary just yet, but just taking stock of all our options on getting the bets in.
Nail in the coffin.Quote: beachbumbabs
I say this is our week.
We have 250ish. I say we break that into 10 $25 bets.
1 7 teamer
1 6 teamer minus the bottom one
Then 8 4 and 5 teamers

All I need to know is who I need to win and how much we will if they do...
Based on Mike's statement I think we should move forward on this week as well.

My exact point, smart guy.
Unfortunately, I didn't get any cards in due to going out of town. More on that in this post.

This is going to be sour if Indy +3.5 covers. However, nobody should blame Romes. I can testify that he at least tried to get me to put cards in.

We can blame romes for not posting in here that he needed help.

No we can't. I believe he reached out to those members who live here and know what a parlay card is.

All he had to do was post in here and it would have been handled.
Before we hold judgment we can wait until Romes makes an appearance. Maybe he got them in, he hasn't been on here for a few days.

I agree.

I feel he would have posted, had he gotten them in. Regardless, no big deal. Shit happens. No one knows what happened yet. Hopefully all is ok on his end and nothing is causing him to go silent.
I hear the WiFi sucks @ the Downtowner Motel. On a good note, $250 goes a long way around there.Quote: mrsuit31I feel he would have posted, had he gotten them in.

Said this in the other thread, but bears repeating.
Quote:I think starting a strawman argument of resentment among the team is counterproductive. Be upset if you want, but don't sour the fun with stuff like this on the board. If we didn't get bets down, we didn't. Shrug. On to next week.
If I'd been in Vegas, I'd have placed the bets. I wasn't. Probably true for most of us. Maybe those who are local or likely to be there at the right time could sign up each weekend in a thread, and we'd have a group to draw from as runners if it looks to be THE weekend . Wizard can escrow if he's willing. We're only talking a little over $200.
Quote: WizardofnothingNot sure if that was directed towards me but I was not in Vegas or I would have put it down in a second...... I was enjoying the beach in your home state!!!!!!!
I misunderstood you then. Or read the wrong name on the post . Sorry - I'll edit that out.
Edit fwiw:
Quote: WizardofnothingI'm not in. Vegas full time but would it really be hard to get 250 in cards put in
Thought you were saying you were Vegas full time.
You picked a beautiful weekend. Hope you enjoyed it!
It's been made clear I'm not in Vegas. I reached out to the Wizard and after finding out he would be out of town I reached out to Axel with no response.Quote: GWAEWe can blame romes for not posting in here that he needed help.
Also, I posted this in the thread a couple pages ago:
This is when I'd sent a text to Axel and was trying to make sure we had options to bet, but no one responded to me on any platform/level.Quote: Romes - October 14th, 2016 at 12:52:28 PMAnyone else in Vegas willing to put some bets in? Thanks for trying. Again, I can vouch that he asked me and I suggested Axel. I absolutely feel Romes is not to blame here.
Sad though, we would have made 25x-100x our money had we got those cards in, depending on the mix of 5, 6, and 7-teamers, assuming the cards were approved. I heard second hand WH was being very picky last weekend.

I appologize. I missed or had forgotten about this post.
Owell I guess we missed our hookers and blow.
Quote: Wizardofnothing25k is rough to lose though that would have been a nice check per person
It wouldn't have been that much. The entire amount wouldn't have been on the 7 teamer.probably a good 8k though.

Wiz can you clarify what you mean by getting the cards approved? Our pool action is $250 that would have been split amongst several cards at say $50 or so each. Are the Sports Books really afraid of $50 action on Parlay cards? If so, why do they offer them?

Is there ever a tax reporting requirement on Sports Wagers?
Quote: ParadigmIs there ever a tax reporting requirement on Sports Wagers?
If so, it's pretty simple to take care of. We will
Simply deduct the tax amount from winnings total and give that to the person who is responsible to pay it....
"virgins"Quote: WizardofnothingThat's enough for 100 virgins from Thailand
Well, if the person is a professional gambler and itemizes at the end of the year they can pull their "loss statements" from certain casinos and basically get the taxed amount back at the end of the year. So you'd be paying them the tax amount + win amount.Quote: mrsuit31If so, it's pretty simple to take care of. We will

It's tough, and depends on how whomever gets taxed does their own taxes, which isn't something I should think the rest of the forums would be prevue to.
Should've been planning weeks ago.
I was out of town(I have lots of witnesses) many people were out of town this weekend for one reason or another, I didn't respond because I left my dam cell phone at the airport, I'll be retrieving it today.
Had you PM'ed me or posted up on the forum I would've contacted someone, if I didn't respond I'm 90% sure someone else would've responded and stepped up. I can think of a few competent trustworthy people that can get this done.
I suggest planning NOW for next weekend just have people ready if there's enough games available, if not then plan for the next weekend.
I actually suggest more than one person because it's hard enough to get enough down as I already got cut off at one location and bets are getting rejected.
Rudeboyoi, Pinittowinit, Maxpen, Mootson, Drich, are quickly just a few off the top of my head that live in vegas that I would ask. There's a bunch more I didn't mention because they are already doing stuff.

Yes, they often are afraid of $50 parlay cards. Many places will take only one or two for that amount if every pick is on the hot side. The reason I keep mentioning the William Hill card is they have so many outlets, the odds are competitive, but most importantly they are the easiest to get them in. Still, I've had them limit me to about four or five sometimes. I think it has a lot to do with who is calling the shots wherever they get approved, which is off-site somewhere.
Does that mean we have to travel to 5 WH locations and put $10 in for each combination? I will be in town for the TG Conference in 4 weeks if we have to wait that long for another shot...what I learned from last week is that we should wait for Wiz to give us the bet recommendations, even if that means waiting for a few more weeks...we get another kick at the can and if the bets had not worked out this week, we all would have been glad they didn't get made.
We can probably get the full $50 amounts on a few of them, but since we want to get 5 or 6 parlay cards that might be the problem. Some places don't like the $50 amounts, but as the Wiz said others will let you do a couple, but after 2-3 they might turn you down. This is where it might help to have more than one person and/or more than one location.
They really start cracking down after a few bettors side winning weeks. We are doing it a bit different from you. I got cut off after 1 card a few weeks ago because winning the week prior.Quote: WizardYes, they often are afraid of $50 parlay cards. I honestly wonder if they will crack down this week even more.
Sounds like Axel is volunteering himself and others to be backups in case Mike can't get our cards in (or he might not want to if he's also betting them for himself)?Quote: AxelWolf...

Do you present a WH card when you bet? I usually don't. You can see there are cameras at every outlet. I suspect that they deal to faces.
They must have gotten killed last week. Every hot side hit. I predict the next good week will be even tougher to get bets in.
I need a new advantage play (something for another thread).

I normally don't actually put the bets in or anything myself. We do it the morning of, and that's way to early to be getting up.
Just trying to figure out our options so we don't have a repeat...
