But yeah, it is a little disappointing to miss that hit!

That reminds meany moons ago I used to work as a stock clerk in a grocery store. A competing grocery store on other side of town wD having their anniversary with a lot of drawings including a car. As luck would have it a guy work with entered the drawing and some the car. He couldn't afford the taxes on the car,so the owner of the store we worked at struck a deal with him. A little embarrassing for a coworker but it proved the drawing was fair
Biggest win on VP is $4k+a little. 25c DDB STP 8x multiplier, one of the hands was four aces+kicker.

My biggest slot machine by volume is $90 on a one cent bet. 😀 It was on Queen Of The Nile and Pharaoh Ramses came up with Cleopatra as the wild in the Bonus and she multiplied him by 15 times or something like that. 😀 Just Pharaoh Ramses by himself was worth $6, so Cleopatra multiplying him 15 times gave me $90 on a one cent bet or 9,000 my bet. 😀 I was happily shocked! 😀
My biggest win ever is roughly $ 1,900 on a $2 Roulette game. 😀 The Jackpot was a random progressive and I was happily shocked to suddenly win roughly $1,900/3,800 times my bet on a $2 Roulette bet! 😀

I was offered and took the cash option. The choice was a Ford Taurus, Ford Mustang, F150, or $15k cash. I would guess this was around 1995.

Interesting. 🤑😀💡 How much taxes did you have to pay and how long did it take before you actually got the money? 🤔💡😀

The only taxes that I remember were just federal income tax. I have no idea what my tax rate was in 1995, probably 18%-22%. I was given the check the next day after I claimed the win.
A few months later, the paper reported that the tax bill forced him to sell his Trans Am.
Quote: billryanIn the early 1990s, a man in my town won a radio giveaway. He was given an AMEX card with $100,000 on it, but it expired in 12 hours. Anything not spent was lost. He bought an above-ground pool and a vacation to Disney for his family. They spent another $ 10,000 or so at a mall and then visited a car dealership. He bought a new station wagon for the family and two Caprices for his college-age kids. He then splurged and bought a used Trans Am, the car of his dreams. It turned out his brother was a local print reporter and the paper documented his adventure.

I was standing next to a guy who won $100,000 drawing at Sam’s Town.
Yeah, not much use being next to the person, but thought I’d mention it. I was this _____close! To a winner.
To winning, no.
Quote: ShadowVale44Mine was pretty modest. I hit about $300 on a 60-cent spin a couple years ago. Wasn’t life-changing, but it felt huge to me at the time. I cashed out right after because I didn’t want to give it back.

500 times your bet IS a REALLY huge win. 😀 Smart man for cashing out because you didn't want to give it back. 😀 My Casino Friend told me he won $500 and put it all back and also lost his entire bankroll!😱😳 He was both angry and disgusted in himself! 😱😳

I won around $1,200 in free play in one day using the Bingo scam, and $1,000 in cash when I won an entire blackout Bingo by myself. 😀

Casinos where they make Winners come to the public stage in order to win big money is VERY risky. 😱😳 A guy won just $500 in a drawing on the public stage and he had two burly men make a VERY uncomfortable sandwich with him as the "sandwich filling," and them as the "bread slices," "Joking," about him buying them dinner with his $500 he won. 😱😳 Luckily he got a Casino Staff Member to get these burly men to get away from him so he could enjoy his $500 in peace. 💡
A woman told me she won $10,000 in free play in a Casino drawing and random Strangers harassed her for a cut of the money. 😱😳 She told them off and asked a Casino Staff Member to escort her to her car and drove home. She came back on another day when none of those random Strangers were at the Casino and was able to use her $10,000 in peace
😀
Quote: billryanYears ago, I hit two Triple Diamonds and three bars for a $ 3,600 payout, and while waiting to get paid, I hit a $1,000 Wheel spin on the machine next to mine. About an hour later, I hit Double Diamond -Double Diamond - double bar for $2800. Sadly, I went on a tilt and lost $1100 of it before I called it a night. I was clearing $400 a week at the time from my full-time job. I went home with ten weeks pay. Never duplicated that, although I had a few bigger wins.

Good for you knowing to stop when you lost a third of your winnings back. 😀 About winning the equivalent of a big paycheck, I also won the equivalent of winning a big paycheck about 12 years ago on a $2.50 hit and had a VERY stupid,"I just won the equivalent of a big paycheck on just $2.50, I can quit my job to become a full time Professional Gambler!" Thought. 😀
What a STUPID thought that was 😐🤨 and my VERY next thought was,"Don't be an idiot. Keep your job and don't quit to become a full time Professional Gambler!" 💡I am so grateful that I listened to my smarter idea and kept my job. Quitting my job to become a full time Professional Gambler would have been a REALLY huge bad decision. 💡

When I wore a younger mans clothes, I hit my first big jackpot and it was a $20k Royal Flush. I was young, stupid, and inebriated and went to my local bar where I liked to shoot pool and started telling everyone that I had $20k and who wanted to bet on pool? Fortunately, I only lost a little but how stupid was I to be telling people I had $20k on me? I learned my lesson after that and never told anyone what cash I was carrying. There was one time that I had over $500k in cash on me and only one other person knew because he gave it to me. It was not my money I was doing a job for someone.

Not so much stupid as adrenaline impulsiveness. Adrenaline impulsiveness happens to even the best of us. A guy also won $20,000 on a lucky $5 bet and in adrenaline impulsiveness gave random gambling strangers in the Casino $300 a person. One of the people he randomly gave $300 to thought,"This guy REALLY shouldn't be giving random gambling strangers $300 a person. He's going to end up broke and begging for his money back. He REALLY shouldn't be doing this, he should be putting that money to savings, paying his bills, helping his family out, etc, not doing this. "
About an hour later, the rational guy's prediction came true and the generous guy ended up broke and begging those random gambling strangers for the money back. Most of them said,"Sorry, I already lost that $300. Some of them LAUGHED at him saying something like,"That's what you deserve for giving random gambling strangers $300 in a Casino, thanks for the free $300 idiot!"
The guy was devastated and ended up asking the rational guy for his $300 back. The rational guy felt sorry for him and gave him his $300 back saying something like,"I hope you learned your lesson on why adrenaline impulsively giving random gambling strangers in a Casino $300 a person is a horrible idea!" The guy thanked him for his money back and left with his $300. 💡

The last time I was in Vegas I met some friends at a bar. There was a drunk guy next to me playing some silly reel game on the bar machine and kept getting some decent wins. He was that annoying drunk guy that kept talking to me about stuff I didn't care about, kept wanting me ti high five him, and I was trying to ignore him. He was annoying everyone at the bar. Everytime he hit something he would cash out and give me $100. This happened three times so I had $300 and he lost all his money back. I felt bad for the bartender putting up with him and getting no tips. When I left I paid for all my friends drinks which was probably $100 and left the other $200 for the bartender. I didn't want his money and was happy to get free drinks and leave the bartender a big tip.

I thought this was going to end up,"I felt bad for ignoring someone who ended up giving me big money," but honestly, I'd be annoyed too in your shoes and good for you for putting money you didn't want in the first place and using that money on your friends and the Bartender he stiffed. 💡😀
