Quote: mickeycrimmIn August, 2007, I had gotten back into Wendover to find a drawing promotion going on at the Wendover Nugget. But I was late to the party. The drawing tickets were based on action and I only had a 20 hour window to run the action. But I figured I could still get a good piece of the drum by playing $5 NSUD, which was their best $5 game. I was also getting .5% comp. I hit two $20,000 royals just a couple of hours apart. Both were in diamonds and both were three-card catches. The first one I held the Queen-Ten and caught the other three. The second one I held the Jack-Ten and caught the other three. With my drawing wins I made $38,000 within a 24 hour period. That's the best I've ever done.
There is a funny side story to this. When I hit the first royal I got surrounded by suits. Its not everday that someone hits a jackpot that big at the Wendover Nugget. For cover I hammed it up like a sucker gambler. Yippee!I won! And all that stupid stuff that ploppies do when they get lucky. They asked me if I wanted my picture taken. Oh, hell yes. Gotta show it to the family. They snapped my picture and paid me off. The second royal came and I did the same thing letting them take my picture and all. On my way to my room that night I dropped the pictures in the first garbage can I passed.
A couple of days later I walked into the Rainbow piker room. But there was no way in hell Iwas going to tell my friends there of my good fortune. You know the old saying "a friend in need is a friend indeed." Start bragging about a jackpot and you will find that you have more friends than you had before you hit the jackpot. And your old friends suddenly become closer to you. All of a sudden they are destitute and in bad need of a loan. I always like the ones who have a good get rich quick scheme if only they had the venture capital. And they are willing to give me a big cut of the action if I wil invest. So I have no intention of telling them anything.
I buy in for a couple hundred andgrab a seat I notice that I'm getting strange looks. When it was my turn to act the dealer looked at me and said:
"What are you going to do Mr. $40,000."
"What? What are you talking about?"
"You hit the Nugget for $40,000"
"No, I didn't." I looked around. Everyone was staring at me.
"Yes, you did! They put your fricking picture on the marquee, outside, asshole!"

Hah.
Have you ever found any ap plays on the lower end of mega jackpot machines? Where you could actually play for a lower bonus while simultaneously qualifying for a very high though obviously unlikely payoff?

That was a good cue to get out of town.

Nothing that I remember.

That was August, 2007. I had just gotten back to Wendover from spending a couple of months in Montana. And you are right, that was my cue to get out of Wendover. I went back down to Las Vegas. I needed to get my laptop out of storage and do some work on some games I seen in Montana. After some analyzing I figured I could make a little money here. I came back here in November, 2007, intending to stay only a month or two. That was over seven years ago.

my best X amount was $725 on 1 quater after about $4-$5 put in 1 quater at a time. I have no idea what machine it was or anything. I wasn't into slots then. It was at isle of capri in 2003. I saw someone at eldorado hit the biggest one 4000 coins with 3 quaters but that is only $1000 and less X then what I hit. It was the top hit on that machine though.
