If you are outside walking around especially after dark it may get cold in Vegas in winter, especially if the wind is whipping.

you may see people standing around pretty bundled up in Vegas, daytime, around Tacos El Gordo.

Anyone you know?
No, not the main people I deal with. Yes, some of those I know.
Of course Venetian claims the changes will help everyone including the players, but the Bottom Line is always what's all important, especially since Apollo took over.

Your nice watch buys are more interesting than that slot win, as an example.
New watches are definitely exciting, for me. And I’m not the guy who walks into a dealer and pays full retail unless it’s for a watch that is already worth more than MSRP and I’m getting it due to some allocation.
Most of my timepieces I buy from private sellers by that I mean gray market dealers who are selling them often brand new unworn at a fraction of full retail.
All of my watches are worth at least what I paid and especially the vintage Rolex ones are worth far more and rising steadily.

I have played a lot of $50 a hand video poker but also would never do that on a reel slot.

I can tell you that most people I know prefer the $12 to $20 per spin range.
$50 reel spins can easily disappear a thousand dollars a minute into a 10% house edge, and for some reason the bonus rounds almost never seem to hit.
Going much over $50, even fairly basic line hits turn into handpay hassles that suck the fun out.
If you feel strangely compelled, I recommend a strict one-and-done policy.
Money in, spin. Cash out, win or lose.
I have bet numerous hands at $1250 a spin during a promotion somewhere on the east coast. I'm not sure how many people I had played for me on that promo, but it had to be 20 +.Quote: DRichQuote: SOOPOOIt’s never gonna happen to me. Can’t imagine betting $50 a spin on slot machine. For example, Wolf still claims that this claim is inaccurate, but can't even remember why he believes so!
In any case, pushing dem buttons is a fate worse than death in mah opinion.
An example of what might happen if you’re flat betting big with not only no advantage but even playing badly (splitting 4,4 against a dealer 2, among other niceties):
Almost painful to watch, but entertaining. Apparently he has very recently stated that he is practically broke now and needs to give up gambling. Not surprising, the way he plays. There are theories that his gambling on Stake (some online casino) is fake, supported by Stake itself to promote itself, but within that video above his buddy does a few huge bets on Stake too in a Martingale catch up desperation play and the grim look on his face makes it clear there is nothing fake about the life savings he is wagering.
Has anyone here gambled on Stake? I did watch a video where Adin gambles on it and he goes up to betting $200K per hand (two hands) which is crazee no brick and mortar casino would allow that at blackjack. Is it because of some special limits he has due to large funds on deposit, or just anyone may wager up to the amount on deposit at any time?
In any case, if Adin is being paid to gamble on Stake or those funds are not genuine, there is no question that at Red Rock, it is real money for him. A Vegas casino could not fund anyone to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars just to play as a shill for promotion purposes, and the way Adin reacts to the losses makes it clear it's blood money.
In recent videos he has posted about being broke, down to his last $20,000. and needs to quit gambling.
Chasing.
Although, the majority of the casinos I play at would not allow open video filming like that. It might however be good marketing for them.
If an NBA arena is built there, it should help out Fontainebleau, but can that portion of the Strip really sustain another resort in the immediate future?

Looks interesting. I would expect it to have some space or astronomy based themes.
I was scouting at the Fountainbleu this week. Couldn't stand it. What a run down, depressed environment! I had to leave, and go back across the street to the Circus Circus so I could feel civilized again.
You can't really go into their two high limit lounges and say it is run down though.
Room rates are dropping though - at Caesars Vegas rack rate around $500. a night versus 5X that at this time last year, with Cosmo balcony suites (standard 730 sq. ft. ones) around $1100. right now rack rate, is what I read.

Hijacking and personal insult. Three days. However, I'm told we owe you three days for over-serving a previous suspension. So, consider that credit spent.
The goal MIGHT JUST BE to win MORE than two of these in ONE session. Or at least day.
The Strip casinos have their “weekends only” tables open so they are obviously expecting some traffic.
Really not that busy up and down the Strip, including inside the resorts. Not yet anyway.
I was down as much as -20K at the low point, was actually time constrained, as soon as I got back to even, stopped.

Went to a special pit + paddock event at Neiman Marcus for a little while, great food and watching the F1 practice. Watched (or rather heard, the screaming sound of the F! cars coming back) most of it just from the hotel suite though.

It is definitely harder to win more than less. While this might appear self evident, the flip side is - Why not just increase all your average bets? Actually, though, there are various reasons why simply increasing your average bet doesn't necessarily guarantee the same results. Not to mention the necessary corollary of an increased bet - risk when things don't go the expected way, even with an advantage (such as that special limits bet I mentioned where I knew the Player's first card would be an 8, got that 8, got the face/10 to go with it, and the other side still beat me with a 9).
The Day 2 play here represented two sessions, one longer one short. Average bets were not all that high for either session. My goal for the day actually was 40K. Just wanted to win that. Just did. But I kept getting stuck at +14K. Got to that point twice. At one point I went down from +14 to +4K and had to work my way back up. There were times when I considered just walking with the 14 or so K. That it was somewhat hard to get past +14K is what I mean by it's definitely harder to win more than less. Finally when I got to +27K I left.
After a break, went to a different casino, and won the 13K in a matter of maybe fifteen minutes. I had to meet someone whom I had been putting off all day, and the goal in the back of my mind for that day was achieved, so I left. But even that session, if I had powered it down I was winning almost every hand there, I could have won a lot more. But I didn't. Which gets back to again, that It is definitely harder to win more than less.
Caesars, Bellagio, Cosmo were all busy, as were the Strip sidewalks that were open.
Bellagio and Caesars check in busy. Cosmo check in - not so much at around 3:30pm.
These are the food workers headed to the Bellagio paddock to set up.
On the other side of the Strip, Wynn and Venetian, busy. Paris too. I did the Victory Stroll up and down the Strip a bit ago.To go all the way up and down, you need to stay on the east side sidewalks, although you can get through the west side too, with points where you have to duck into casinos.
It's a touristy crowd, and you see a fair amount of F1 garments on people.

It was for personal reasons, not because I knew in advance, but I was on the winning team.
Mercedes driver Russell wins LV Grand Prix
We also had tickets to the T-Mobile grandstands, so stopped by there briefly too to see Ludacris, and noticed no lines at the food concessions,
which would tend to mean - less busy than last year.
They handed these out to anyone who claimed to have an AMEX.
We told them we had a platinum AMEX, but all they asked us was, But what team are you on? Team Mercedes!
At the moment the little radio still works, during the race it was set to race news of course, right now music on one station, some Spanish broadcast on the other.
Walking around, the Strip was not exactly empty. Here is a side shot of some tables at the Bellagio around race time.
The organizers did a good job of keeping people moving and preventing anyone from getting much of a free view of the race.
Lots of police and security to keep people moving, the barriers on the pedestrian bridges were quite solid
and the division between the sidewalks and the actual race track prevented people from seeing much from the sidelines, although that division is of course also a safety feature.
Two monster sessions. I was down -110K after the first then rallied to end up way ahead. Pretty heavy betting (and winning). Near the end I was winning most every hand I could have really done a lot more damage.

Taken in cold hard cash? A check? A tad over one Bitcoin? Still have the chippies?
Good hit!
During each of my larger bets one of the pit bosses kept getting nervous for me but the dealer (or at least one of them) was nodding like Go for it. There were several bets where I had a black chip on the side for the dealer along with several where I had greenies and some with reds. I actually wouldn’t say that I tipped out that much but the dealer did end up with maybe $500 (not all of the dealer black chip bets were successes).
I actually told them after a while that my goal was $210K (which is what I needed to get out of the hole from the first session and win a clean 100), but then I declared I wanted $220K which would have given me +110K but the shoe ended, I was at +108K and I left.
SooPoo just to give you backup as to that dealers may get emotionally engaged in the game on one of my bets the dealer forgot to charge me commission and I reminded the dealer. It wasn’t a big bet. The dealer admitted that gotten so involved that forgot.
If you want to have an idea of Las Vegas is all about walk ahead a hundred grand after being down a hundred all the same day. Quite a feeling.
I had them send a slip comp for a couple hundred for lunch, which I didn't even use all of it, then went back after I was done for another one for dinner. Just asked any random host mine wasn't around, and this host I could tell was hesitating about the dollar amount I requested to be "sent over" until saw the screen.
You sure $300. will be enough?
Pretty slow and steady. Few sessions.

4 charged in $500K watch thefts at Fontainebleau nightclub
They do seem to know their watches, targeting Richard Milles only.
Identified by facial recognition software - police said that the suspects conspired to steal the watches on two separate occasions, crowding victims in the club as a distraction while they stole the watch.
They were charged with grand larceny (I didn't look up the cases), I'd have thought robbery.
Two sessions, first one I got up +10200. Second session was down a clean -10000, meaning I lost the entire 10200 I had won the first session, and then lost another 10000.
But, ended up.

Then the Vegas North Premium Outlets, the ones by downtown. Ridiculously busy - long lines to get into some of the stores. Got some things from Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, Oliver Peoples, Dooney & Bourke, Timberland, Tumi, Off Saks, etc. Those stores had little or no lines.
The other day I got this from the regular RL store at Caesars Forums Shops:
(it's nice but a lint magnet),
and my wife immediately wanted to get on the big bear emblem bandwagon, so today got her
her own big bear polo gear.
But after all that taxing Black Friday effort I circled back to RL and got this which is also purple label
to get into the Christmas spirit.
Two sessions, ended flat, was down as much as around -25K on each session at the low point of each one.

Right now though, Vegas Strip casinos are packed with convention goers, especially from...AMZN. AMZN has booked solid a few Majors on the Strip and reserved almost a couple dozen restaurants for its exclusive use. Almost all the largest suites are spoken for by AMZN. If you're not a very big roller, this week, you aren't getting any kind of suite at the top resorts.
I've been pulling down two suites for use by friends, but may need to reduce to one this week.
Two sessions. First one I was down as much as about -19K twice. Ended ahead around +5000. Second session powered ahead and quit after just maybe a half hour.
