I'm in the process of downsizing. In that spirit, I am getting rid of about 75% of my gambling books. Here is a picture of them.
Not pictured I also have:
Please note that about 20% of these books have already been claimed.
The question for the poll is which is your favorite Gambling book?
I do ask that you pay for postage from a local shipping store. I estimate the cost to be $5-$10 per inch in your stack of books.

- The 50 Greatest Stories in Poker History by Marton Magyar

I wanted to vote for the John Patrick Collection in the poll there was no choice for that. Why do you hate John Patrick.

I actually did, but changed my mind. I wasn't sure everyone would get the joke. I don't hate John Patrick. I'd like to think I don't hate anybody. Patrick was a gentleman who served his country in combat, if I have my facts straight. I will always respect that. However, as I understand it, never graduated from high school and was a complete quack when it came to gambling.

Repeat until Rich was a good one. Even better than Bringing Down the House, though much less known. Blackjack Autumn was another good one telling the same story. The Logan Fields book holds up surprisingly ok given how much the environment changes every single year. The Roulette System would be worth picking up just for the wtf factor.

I just found this Amazon description about this book:

“In Casino-ology, Zender argues against excessive card-counter and shuffle-tracker countermeasures in favor of hand production to increase profits, and concludes that rhythmic dice rollers aren't the threat they're made out to be.”
This sounds very reasonable. I should have let Wizard mail this book to me.

Can anyone make out the title of the blackjack book between Ask Barney and Modern Blackjack, just above Casino-ology2?
They look to be the same, but in a proof version and press run version.

Yes, that's exactly the case. I think it's common for struggling authors shopping around a book to make about 100 spiral-bound versions to gauge interest. That's what I did with my book. If any of you are fans of Glen Wiggy, where else are you doing to get a spiral-bound version? Fair warning, it has suffered some water damage but still very readable.

When I moved away from Vegas about five years ago I donated all my gambling books to Goodwill. It is hard to justify keeping lots of books in this internet age.
You can't know everything, but you can know anything.

John Patrick was a genius gambling savant He didn't need no stinking high school diploma. Somebody needs to do a compilation of all those John Patrick Words of Wisdom from his books.

The advent of streaming and DRM showed me the exact opposite. If you have a physical book, you can read it.
If you have an ebook, "they" can revoke your DRM key, and it becomes useless, no matter how much you paid.
I don't trust that I could reliably find certain references online.
For me, it goes double for movies. I might be able to stream it today, but which service licenses which library which month is a moving target.

Another free book: Stanford Wong’s “Optimal Strategy for Pai Gow Poker” — 1992 edition. DM me!
I checked, and it covers both Nevada and California rules (in 1992).
