Yeah because all rappers are thugs
I'd feel more nervous if it was a country concert, personally.

The darkies will be at borgata and not elsewhere in town?
Yes, I am sure the clientele who pay $40 to get into the concert at mur.mur, which enforces a strict dress code, in the most heavily secured casino on the East Coast, will pose major safety issues.
Have any of you actually been out in the real world?
Heck, that's why they invented the suburbs.

I am going to say many have concerns but are not racists, but others can take them that way. Because many of the things that happen in and around the hotel during these shows are a concern to middle class white people. Does that make them racist? I don't see it that way, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
Examples: Check out Las Vegas during the NBA All Star Game. It was a disaster in hotels with open weed smoking and other similar things going on.

I personally found out the hard way how I felt during a similar show at the old HOB at Showboat. Being in AC to Gamble I have to admit it can be intimidating when you are one of the few white people in the casino and hotel at night during one of these shows. Does that make me an old white racist? I don't think so.
But maybe that is how they feel when they are the minority in a situation.
I guess I'll never know. But the OP did provide good advise to anyone who has these concerns. I am not sure if that was his intention or not.

Exactly!
"White Flight" had nothing to do with the creation of the suburbs.
People just enjoy driving further to get anyplace.
"Rap Concert?"
That reads like a Baptist Church bulletin board. It's like, "Now, Brothers and Sisters, before we part ways on this glorious Sabbath and leave the protective confines of the House of the Lord (Hallelujah!)...Thank you Brother Andrew, again, before we part.I should make you aware that you should especially avoid that whore of Babylon, the Borgata Casino, who lies down and spreads her filthy legs on the cobblestones even more than usual tonight. They're having one of those rap concerts, during which, they will be singing songs, brothers and sisters, but not songs to worship His eternal love and glory. NO!!! These will be songs about disgusting and vile acts that are an abomination unto Him and will surely bring about the End Times...(Amen!)...Thank you, Sister Judy. These are songs about unholy acts that blaspheme the Lord, these are...(deep sigh)...secular songs. I also hear that some of our more, shall we say, urban brothers and.sisters are likely to attend these...uh...performances. Please, brothers and sisters, go safely and go with God, today's worship is dismissed, Amen."
Boz,
I like you very well, but, "Open weed smoking," come on. It's legal in two States and should be Federally legalized and taxed...excellent potential revenue stream. Besides, what will happen, the weed smokers eat all the Doritos?

Isn't Dylan coming to Borgata in April? I think you'd have to worry more about weed then. But nobody would post a thread warning people to stay away because of a Dylan concert.

I was not commenting on the legality of it or my opinion of it. Just that it does concern many people when it is done in the open in the other 48 states. As for taxing and legalizing, that's a different debate. But the tide is turning and I am sure it will be legal in the next decade everywhere.

Lil Jon actually appears quite frequently at mur.mur. And he's more of an EDM artist than a rapper. I bet you'll see more annoying white kids than anyone else. So yes, it's probably wise to avoid the Borgata that night.
The casinos know this too. But of course they don't keep any kind of statistics or studies on it. And they don't have to. It's so obvious.

It sounds like it's going to be very dangerous over there. I'm sure we'll be seeing it on the news.

Jay-Z is not a rapper, because he doesn't bust his guns nor aim them sideways. He did stab some guy a while back but that ain't gangsta. Also he drinks ace of spades just to piss them out, and has a condo at the Trump that he only slept in once. Did he ever get shot 5 times or more like fiddy cent?

Anyone remember the Jayz and Kanye West concert a few years ago at Boardwalk Hall?
A.C. had 5 yes 5 shootings that weekend that resulted in 2 deaths.

I understand that and I get all that, however, this particular artist, Lil' Jon, seems to be a regular there at the Borgata, and to my knowledge hasn't led to an incident.
Quote: MrV"undesirables."
That's a euphemism. How about vermin?
Three people injured, three people dead, all because two moron pimps probably looked at each other sideways. I could just see the shooter in court when confronted with the innocent people that lost their lives because of his actions: "They was just at the wrong place at the wrong time." And now the shooter is going to cost the taxpayers a million dollars plus.
The news media at the time of the shooting referred to the shootee, Kenny Cherry, who went by Kenny Clutch, as an "aspiring rapper". So sad, cut down before he could fulfill his dream of bringing his message and lyrics to the world.
Here you can read about the aspiring rapper:

Well, in that case rap concerts are easy to avoid. Most people here should worry about being shot by a family member, a disgruntled neighbor or employee they just fired.
Just how many Rappers have been shot or faced serious charges over the years?
Something is terribly wrong when people glorify violence and degradation of others, even if it is just a song.

I try to stay away from pants sagging, hood wearing, primitive talking thugs, so I don't have to worry about being shot. Furthermore my neighbors and employees can form complete sentences and conjugate the verb be.

Lil Jon is going to be appearing at the mur.mur club. It's a dance club / "bottle service" club. It's not a concert venue and it isn't a concert.
You people come off as grumpy, ignorant, racist, and ridiculously out of touch.

Sodawater,
You may be correct about the artist and the venue. But a lot of what's being discussed is about the negative side of rap culture. The thugs, shootings, profane lyrics, debauchery, disrespect for human life. Not the presentable and moderate side of black culture.
The thread has expanded to include related topics that are of interest.
It is not being "ridiculously out of touch" to bring up these related things.
