This forum site has become dizzying to me. It's all over the place concerning AC. Be aware that I am not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Well the old TA board is at it again. The one post I was most interested in about the eliminating some of the Platinum lines and perks was closed. How is that not travel related. I'm sure if the topic was how great it is to be platinum status and list all the pluses it would stay up!

Just proves that I made a wise decision coming here and bidding farewell to TA.

I was just about to post this but you beat me to it! For those who didn't get to see the post, it is claimed that CZR is doing away with Platinum status and will now offer only Gold and Diamond (and 48 Stars LOL). Don't know if this is true or not yet.

I give this post an hour. Tee hee!

I find this one hard to believe. Pkatinum is still listed on the Total Rewards web pages. I'm thinking the person creating the post on TA misunderstood and she was told they were eliminating the platinum check-in lines. At least I'm hoping that's the case. I made diamond last year but doubt I will again and if I will only be gold I might as well give all my play to Borgsta and hope I can make black level without having to get it by them matching my current diamond card.

I think they are rethinking platinum perks as a whole, especially since they give Platinum status away with the TR credit card. From what I've read in TR's the platinum line is always the shortest at Harrah's and the Diamond members probably complained a lot. I too am platinum by earning it. I did earn Diamond in 2012 but that was because I did 4 trips to Vegas of almost 20 days of play there. I don't have a spouse playing on my card so it took me a lot of play to gain that status. The perks were not worth it. I'll pay for parking and even as a diamond I was not a high enough Diamond to see the real benefits.

I do think that they got rid of the Platinum line but my point here is, I would have liked to have some feedback on what others have found out first hand. And Jerry, I'm sure you know, just because it's still listed on the website doesn't mean CET can't change perks for a specific tier at any time.

A review of the Total Rewards web site seems to indicate that there will no longer be special lines for Platinum at hotel check in or restaurants. Not sure what is left of the "value" of this tier level since TR also began charging Platinums the resort fee in Las Vegas.

TA removed a mention of potential inconvenience for travelers with Platinum Status, yet, lists this as one of their officially approved "Top questions about Atlantic City":

"What is LFB/RFB at the CZR/Harrah's casinos?"

So, there must be far more "LFB/RFB" AC travelers, vs Platinum, in the opinion of TripConiver?

Beware of 30x TR multiplier Valentines Day

as far as we know, this is limited to purchases via 800Flowers -NOT - a CET multiplier as he promotes

I would NEVER stay at Baymont. Not only is the Hotel a complete disaster,"people have posted pics of dirty sheets and all" the location leaves much to be desired. It is right next to Park Ln. apartments and that place has a lot of trouble.
What Baymont is doing is simply keeping the city inspectors at bay. They are always under construction but little is being done to refurbish the place.
They just have "workers" moving things around but very little is actually being done. But the inspectors are not swift enough to catch on to this.....

Why pay $45~60 per weeknight to stay at Baymont when a player can pay $30 cash to a slots pro for a room at a casino-hotel?

Here is a better deal. At least 2 slots pros are willing to put you up for a room at these rates:

Weeknight: $30.

Weekend (Fri or Sat) $100.

You'll pay him/her cash at check in. Of course, you use your own credit card for the room deposit. I think it's a fair deal, right guys?
I'm OK with Corps which pick and choose clienteles. Both insurance companies and casinos have the right to pick and choose customers. They may keep profitable ones and kicked out the rest. But, I'm not OK with a casino supervisor who says counting cards... is like stealing food from a buffet (a foodlifting offense), or video-taping a movie in a cinema (a piracy offense).

Can someone in AC translate this?

I would like Travel to AC again soon , however, I realize I may not speak the native language spoken by "destination experts"...

what does this mean & why should it convince me to return to AC?

>>it beats the time and effort and worry of going to an offsite location to save three or four dollars<< Oh Mah Garsh! I'd never spend the >>the fees are abhorrent<< This one time, in bandcamp... [tee~hee]. Was with family at the Irish Pub & we forgot cash. The only person with cash was my Niece who had over $150 because she'd gotten her 1st paycheck. EVER. We all wanted to borrow $ to pay the bill because of Irish Pub's ATM >>the fees are abhorrent<< AND. She didn't want to give up the money [even though it was just for minutes till we got to our banks on the island]. I gave her a choice: either give up the money that she'll get back after the bank visits. OR. Wait at the Irish Pub as collateral until we got back from our banks ATMs. She gave up the cash

Huh????

AERULES,

Since you are now on an open forum , I hope you feel free to explain something.

The vast majority of your posts on the TA AC forum have been deleted since they only speculated on how soon a topic would be deleted.

If you have an interest in AC, why not post some content there -vs the obsession by which 90%+ of your AC posts regard censorship of other members on a board for which you are not a "Destination Expert"?

Welcome to the board!

If a single poster giving inaccurate info (aka info I personally disagree with) on a topic is justification for closing a topic then about 99% of the topics on this forum would be closed:) Here you post your rebuttal and let the reader decide who is correct.

Aerules, again since this is an open board, your power and input here will be limited.

I know you don't like topics that "CAN" or "TEND TO" become conversational but that is exactly what some topics need and deserve. What I don't get is why you can post lyrics to a Fleetwood Mac song and NOT essential travel related information on casino closings, the safety of the casino and area along with changes in services.

I have left that board, where I've personally met many lovely people but will not post with the fear of deletion, censorship and most of all bullying. I have always tried to post helpful and relevant information, it's TA's and their member's loss that I no longer post there due to the censorship.

You have no power alone, that might be true, but urging that other "destination experts" report a post (for whatever reason you and they deem) does get posts removed from TA. That's what I was told by the moderator.

That is BS. Every time I mention on the New York City forum that NJ Transit uses a conductor covered in Korean gang tats, Moreffmiles removes the post and has my account disabled. Don't you think people would want to know that NJ Transit uses employees who have gang affiliations? I would. Why don't the DE's want the rest of the public to know that? So it is not just Atlantic City but all TA forums

You report inappropriate...and then post "I give this an hour",
knowing full well that it will be deleted based on your reporting.

I think that's the point...if a DE reports a post as inappropriate it gets deleted and the topic closed,
everybody else gets ignored, but ten thousand band camp stories just keep on coming (tee-hee...I typed coming).

Oh Ma Garsh...why such a need to report so much anyway?

What's it to you if the travel relevance is dubious, or threads become chatty?

So "aerules", it would seem that we may have to agree to disagree re DE censorship on TA.

Since you are here, why not take advantage of the opportunity to offer a tip, observation, or opinion, re AC... with the comfort of knowing you may do so without needing to impose your own stringent filters on your own thoughts.

For years you have taken upon yourself to protect us from what you believed we should NOT know about AC.

As a sort of "big brother", concerned about limiting our exposure to your interpretation of what we need to know about AC, why not share just one of your thoughts about AC - besides why our posts should be censored?

If you just "police" member's thoughts by removing them, & offer no content replacing them, have you really accomplished your goal?

BTW - just wondering, are you "aerules" or "AERULES"?

It surprises me that someone with your precision re adhering to standards would vary from an established handle.

I only ask since an AC DE, impersonating another DE, already posted here in the same tone as your few posts here.

It turned out he was a fan of Belgian beer, as is EZDave, but not who he said he was ?

Belgian beer seems to be a thing with DE's, or one DE pretending to be another DE?

Do you enjoy Belgian beer "aerules" or "AERULES"?

If you buy $50 in merchandise from them the parking is free. Almost like Caesars earn 25 reward points for free parking.

Inaccurate information? You mean advising a solo woman traveler not to use The Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden, N.J at night?
If you and your family feel perfectly safe there I have no problem with that. But to recommend such a place to a total stranger and a solo woman traveler at that, Hell no!

I can see the poor woman now shortly after getting off the bus at Walter Rand.

I don't like it when members of my family have to drive through Camden. There's no way I would want my wife there at their bus station at night. I never could understand the problem with crime info being posted. Isn't it better to educate the visitors so they stay safe just by avoiding bad areas which ultimately results in lower crime rates making the city more desirable?

Agree 100% about the importance of posting crime information. There has been a recent uptick in street crime in New Orleans, in the tourist areas. The TA New Orleans Forum is an important resource for this information and the DE's and others will answer all crime-related questions honestly. Posts are not removed and the discussion is ongoing. I don't see why AC should be any different. If I'm travelling to a strange city I want to know where to avoid as well as where to go. If this isn't travel related I don't know what is.

How very true. But lets not forget we are talking about the liberal agenda here. It has little to do with how things really are but has more to do with how things look. Liberals tend to think of themselves as the protectors of those less fortunate or those they believe to be victims. By warning people about the dangers of Camden some actually see it as an attack on poor or minorities. I can't tell you how many times after some type of crime happens in a inner-city environment I have heard some lib say. "those things happen everywhere." It is the politically correct "P.C." thing to say.
I found this definition of political correctness.
"A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Dave I agree with you 100%. I was able to get onto tripadvisor, not sure how long I will last, but I did post on a topic where Aerules suggests a poster visit the Camden Aquarium. Those who are still on TA need to warn other posters of the dangers of Camden, because the DE's for Jersey won't. Also I'm utterly shocked that the Revel thread is still up

Once again my TA account is disabled. And all I did was warn people about the dangers of Camden New Jersey, and about NJ Transit conductor Rik Hyung Kim. I would think that is valuble advice.

I feel so dirty lurking in this thread........
It's like watching an unmarked railroad crossing. I can see the train wreck coming, but I just can't turn away.
Always borrow money from a pessimist; They don't expect to get paid back ! Be yourself and speak your thoughts. Those who matter won't mind, and those that mind, don't matter!

Hahahaha, Raleigh. There was a distant whistle, but the tracks stopped rumbling. For now.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Came across these on the Philly forum. Tripadvisor has locked me out again. Dave or Jerry, can you please post a warning about Camden safety on these two topics. Thanks, Ross

The area around the aquarium is fine. I've visited at least five times, walked from City Hall, visited the bar across the street from the aquarium, and never had a single problem. What's your issue? I think people know to be aware of their surroundings in any city.
