Wow-those who said "the coins were due" were not kidding. Frank Rosenthal and Jimmy the Greek combined would do good for a week like this!

Coins are now slightly positive in raw total but just a tad negative in P&L. Hopefully I get some virtual comps to make up for that virtual loss.

Raw result week: 10-2-1
Raw result STD: 39-34-4

P&L week: $685
P&L STD: ($69)

Its too bad you're using a virtual coin. If it were real, you could sell if for a lot of money based on its uncanny powers this week!

Stunning "performance". Your coin and Seahawks coach Pete Caroll were the only ones who picked them to win. Do you think this result will be the right tail outlier on the curve, meaning that most future results will be in the fat, 8-8 center, or will results continue to bounce back and forth on the 14-2, 2-14 yo-yo?

@ayecarumba: I expect very high varriance week to week. Not as high as this week, which I expect to be the peak. But lots of 10-6 and 6-10 weeks.

The biggest loser(s)

http://www.thedailyrash.com/many-middle-aged-wall-street-protesters-still-living-with-their-parents

This is just plain halarious and shows how so many "unemployed" are really losers. Two guys in their early 40s, three college degrees between them. None of the degrees are in anything remotely marketable, and I can't even believe they are degrees. And note they are just protesting, "because I (he) always wanted to protest something." You have to wonder how they will survive when mommy and daddy's money is gone.

"The Daily Rash is satire! Merely a parody of the life that we watch around us daily. Based in Chicago, The Daily Rash spoofs the famous people who fill our lives with beauty and who bring us so much joy. Any similarities between our stories and real life are coincidental! Nothing here is very true."

Dude... it's a satire site...

Damn, AZ. You bit on that one hard enough to snap the hook in two! Should have waited 'till Faux News or RedState put it out there before passing it on. To be fair, I'm sure there are more than one Art History or socialogy majors in that crowd. But I think most of them are really scared and angry people who want a chance to work for a decent living. just my opinion...

Bad on me if I bit on something. Then again I have heard some of these clowns on the radio and TV and it isn't too far from that post.

The best satire is close to reality.

I really like the Colts and Packers moneyline this week. The Titans may surprise, but I'm not betting on it.

I am a little lost Do the (even) lines mean no vig ??

thecesspit
thecesspit Oct 10, 2011

Nope, Money Lines are straight up bets with no points. There's still a bookmakers edge.

DET over CHI DET -6 (EVEN) ?? explain please Thanks

AZDuffman
AZDuffman Oct 10, 2011

"Even" means no vig on that line. Most likely the other side is -120. But think of "even" as -100. Or +100. Lines still apply, just the payout has no vig on that side.

P&L week: $330
P&L STD: ($754)

Special thanks for pointing out I had Detroit as a loss. 1/4 of games played in the season and the coins are at just under 48%, or IOW near the expected 50% a random pick would give. Still trying to crawl out of the big P&L hole dug in weeks 1 and 2. We will have to see what the secone 1/4 of the season brings.
