Sorry, this time I will do this Survivor style and reserve the right to tweak the rules as I go. However, here will be the general rules:

  1. ...
  2. ...
  3. ...
  4. ...
  5. ...
  6. ...
  7. Prize money for each round will first be divided equally among all teams as follows:
    * If all teams vote "share," then they split the prize money equally
    * If all teams vote "steal," then nobody gets anything for that round
    * If there are a mix of "share" and "steal" votes among the teams, then those voting "steal" shall share in the prize pool for that round and the "share" teams get nothing
  8. The team prize money will be divided equally among all members of that team, regardless of the individual votes

Any questions? I'd like to announce teams on Friday and set July 1 as the deadline for the first round of votes.

#8... so say the "prize money" for a week is $10. Say on one particular team 2 voted steal and 3 voted share... The 3 that vote share would get nothing, but since the majority vote was share the team wins money. However, it is split by the 2 "steal" members. Now, in this scenario, do they get $5 each, or $2 each (their original share they would stand to make either way)?

Rule #8 makes it sound like $2 each, which would NOT benefit "steal" players since they wouldn't be making any more money than if they shared (hence no incentive to steal). Do I have this correct?
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

I love freerolls and will play if you still are looking for players and assuming my tenure is adequate.

What happens if a player is banned from the forum during the game?

They can still play by submitting votes through DT.

The team vote would be "share," since it would 3 to 2. The only way for the team to win money is if every other team voted "share." Let's say there was $10 in prize money and 8 teams, so each team would get $1.25. Every player would get $0.25, whether he voted share or steal.

This game is more of a team effort. Individual votes only determine what the team does. Any team winnings are split equally among all players on that team.

That would be right if the team win was $10 -- each player would get $2.

However, I see your point about not being properly incentivized* to vote "steal." As I wrote earlier, I reserve the right to change the rules as we go. I might change them that way.

I plan to start taking votes early on Friday. The number of players must be divisible by 5. If it isn't, anyone with an asterisk will be first to go. After that, it will be randomized. Anyone cut randomly will be first on the waiting list.

Figure 35 players. Appoint 7 captains. Have the captains draft a team. I would take Nathan as my first pick, unless she was a captain also. (Notice I am campaigning to be a captain....)

My first vote will be steal, by the way......

I was so busy with Nathan's Corner, I almost missed this.

Let's just give Nathan 3 votes on three different teams.

Do teams discuss this or does everyone just vote the way they want.

I didn't see anything in the rules about collusion.
