I don't understand this potato vodka is actually superior to grain vodka and has its origins in Poland. It's quite expensive compared to grain vodka.

thanks again EB

he was definitely a cool looking dude
gone way too soon
I wonder if losing his house and possessions contriibuted to his medical problems
it most likely caused him a great deal of stress
so very, very sad

Tyston is a quite an unusual name - I'm sure I've never heard that name before

then it is a case of ignorant people not appreciating something but attaching a negative to what should be a positive. It was a real 'thumbs down' when 'made from potatoes' was asserted, in my experience, ymmv

I had no opinion but it didn't sound good to me either. Vodka however soon become quite popular with a lot of friends, some of whom said they thought you couldn't smell it on your breath when that mattered . This was late 60s early 70s or so?

As a 13/14-year-old, vodka was our drink of choice. We'd pool our dimes together and split a quart of Tango (watered-down screwdriver) before hitting the school dance.
Rumor was they used Tang instead of orange juice, thus the name Tango.

Yes, he did know he was sick but he kept it hidden for years from Everyone in Vegas. He had cancer since the 90's and he battled it for years. He was finally in remission after fighting back 3 times. This last time finally took him from us.

I have been reading through all these posts and it seems not many knew his real name. His name was Tyston Bethlen. He knew he had cancer (Hodgins Diseas) since the 90's. He never told anyone. I can only think of two people who knew. His closest friends and business partners in Vegas never even knew. He battled his cancer 3 different times over the years.

So he had it when he was in his 20s. Did he ever get chemo? As his brother did you see him very often?

What his wife told someone who told me (yes I know, hearsay) was that it was stomach/esophageal cancers. Which would make sense given the alcoholism and also that supposedly he smoked.

But - if he did know that he had Hodgkin's Lymphoma and it kept recurring, pretty bold that he kept drinking so much and smoking.

In any case, he couldn't have known he was terminally ill around the time of the flood because the $35K GoFund Me he set up in January mentioned in detail every other hardship they were experiencing but no mention of illness.

Plus the conversations he and I had around the time in 2025, that he was looking into that WA state property that got flooded made it clear that he had long term plans for it.

Curious about the Bethlen last name. Was it Transylvanian?

Sorry for your loss if you are indeed his brother.
I tell you it’s wonderful to be here, man. I don’t give a damn who wins or loses. It’s just wonderful to be here with you people. https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/betting-systems/33908-the-adventures-of-mdawg/
