Who should be the new Moderator

I guess it comes down to the question of what is this site? Is it a site about gambling, gambling information and helping people to gamble from a position of strength, or it is some sort of social club?

If it is the former, your goal should be to have as many players that have achieved some level of success participate on a regular basis. And that should include re-evaluating situations and trying to bring back some successful players. Especially those that really didn't have a history of trolling behavior and no longer participate, whether banned or having left on their own, for some sort of disagreement or personal issue.

Unfortunately, as someone who has lurked for a long-time, it appears the site has moved towards the later, nothing more than a social club, with a lot of games played, trolling, egos, ongoing jabs at one another, many based on political views. The high volume of suspensions and bannings seems to play right into that. It seems like the object is to insult one another, getting as close to the line as possible, without crossing it.

Can you point out a gambling site when added to WOV and WOO that's more successful?

People keep forgetting that the WOV forum is probably -EV for their business model. 85+% of the regulars here will tell you to stay away from online gambling period. Count me out, and then ask the top 10 contributors here if they would ever play online(you can even do a poll for everyone).

How would you like to have a coffee shop where most of the customers that came in all said, this place is great to sit down and use the internet, but don't ever drink the coffee because it's horrible and made of poison.

How many regulars and new members actully use a link here to sign up and play online? IMO WOV is like a Live Keno room in an LV casino. Sure it may make some money, but they could make way more if they added slots or somthing else, just like they would probably make more money here if they turned this forum into an LCB site.

I say, be happy the forum is what it is. It could be run like some forums such as TA.

I think that's a completely different topic. Debunking betting systems is one of WOV's strong suits.

I have seen a few forums that are infested with guys touting bogus systems. It's mostly guys that couldn't handle the heat over here.

I am no mathematical guru, and it didn't take AP understand you can't turn negative EV games into positive EV games without somthing extra being given out. I have a hard time understanding why even some highly educated people can't grasp this simple concept.

I'm not that informed of all the aspects to Mission's stepping down, but from what I know I wish he'd disregard the fact that he can't please everyone. He seems like a thoughtful and decent person--an asset as a moderator. I'd like to see him back.

I won't speak for Mission, but I think, that he thought, everything he did going forward would be questioned or meet with criticism, especially from some of the guys who he liked and respected.

Edward J Smith was the captain of the Titanic which struck an iceberg in 1912 on its first and only voyage across the Atlantic and sunk into the Atlantic Ocean. Though recent news says that it is very possible is that a coal fire(I honestly thought the anchor called it a "Cold fire," and I thought it meant a low burning fire, and Google told me it was "coal fire,") was the real culprit and the Titanic staff knew that there was the damn coal fire burning in the brig and still let the Titanic sail knowing it shouldn't have sailed with the coal fire in the brig. They didn't even tell the passengers about the coal fire and let them obliviously board. :( A simple, "Hey, we have a coal fire in the brig of the Titanic!" Heads up to everyone would have been ideal. :/

Hi Bill. I'll count myself as a peasant too. Yes, we spoke: We expressed preferences and opinions and there was some (tongue in cheek ) voting. But be in no doubt that this is no democracy. The entire website and this forum is a private property. We are All guests here. The owners and operators do listen intently and IMHO they are very generous hosts. Remarkably I already had all the power of secret admin with none of the restrictions, scrutiny and few of the responsibilities. Now I have to behave so much better than before.
