Look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself whether you are a proud American today now that a racist wife-beater has been given a top strategic spot in the White House. mcallister3200 isn't, and he said as much, and your response was to call every liberal voter a racist, sexist xenophobe. You just did the same with me. Were you joking? Perhaps you're using that Carrollian trick where when you use a word, it means just what you choose it to mean. But when *I* use the words "racist" or "white supremacist" or "bigot," I mean exactly what the dictionary and general public mean by those words. I make no apologies for speaking out against irrational bigotry and hatred, especially now that the federal government is being infected with supporters of that twisted, evil ideology. If you're offended by my speaking out, too bad.Quote: Maverick17What about my post in any way, shape or form, would have you call me a racist?
You seem to like to infer things, or blatantly lie about things.
Stop doing that, at least when you quote my posts, it is not only offensive to all, but it brings out some of your xenophobia here.
What's offensive here is that Trump's campaign slogan is a thinly-veiled racist dog-whistle. The racists know it is, that's why they supported him. What's offensive here is that Steve Bannon is a white supremacist enabler. The white supremacists know he is, that's why they supported him.
If you're already reading Breitbart, the Daily Stormer, or any of the other alt-right racist publications, you already know all this.
If you're not a racist, don't throw your lot in with them or pretend that what they do and say is okay.
Failing to speak out and act against bigotry makes you complicit. Accepting institutionalized hatred makes you complicit. Own it. If you're a racist, be a proud racist. If you're not a racist, don't tolerate it. Pick a side. Are you a good person or not? This goes beyond liberal or conservative politics. People of good conscience and different political views can have a legitimate debate on economic or social policy. But someone who views blacks or gays or Muslims as less deserving than straight white Christians vis-a-vis civil rights is not someone of good conscience, and those views are illegitimate. Mike Pence is one such person. So is Steve Bannon. Are you?

Yup, time to block this thread. Election over, no more time for this dog-whistle nonsense. See you in the 2020 Election thread when it appears.
Not that anyone is surprised.
If one wants a racist, sexist, classist, xenophobe in the white house, whose husband admitted to raping women, and she admitted to covering up the rape, then I'm sorry for those people, they didn't get what they wanted.
I do not want anyone pushing their negative "dog-whistle" mantra on me. I didn't vote for a presidential candidate that supports the vile hatred liberals want in America. Those same progressives who incite riots and violence after they do not get their way, the ones who cry in a corner while posting the most offensive material on social media I have literally ever read in my entire life, they will not be accepted in the America of post November 9, 2016. They will not be accepted, not because of the color of their skin, or the genitals between their legs, or the amount of money they have in the bank, but because of the hate they have filled from their core, and cannot stop that hate from spewing out of their mouths and keyboards.
To make it simple for those who are uneducated, or spent a baker's dozen years attaining both an Anthropology degree and near 7 digit student loans:
Don't hate : Appreciate
Maybe it's important, maybe it's nothing.
When you had BOTH sides noting the unusual aspects of a candidate...
Pay attention.
The rest of you can stick your head in the sand and plug your ears.
Not me.

For years WH SS agents have reported Hillary
would often go on tirades, screaming, cursing,
throwing things. What happened election night
is nothing new. If I had people who'd given my
foundation millions and expected presidential
favors in return, if I had them breathing down
my neck for their money back, I'd be losing it too.

Trump also spoke of rebuilding our infrastructure, bringing back jobs and ending our involvement in "nation building" (destroying nations on behalf of corporations). Also standing up to political corruption and the special interests that so damaging to the country.
He did some race baiting, though not quite as much as the media wish. He explicitly reached out to minorities in his acceptance speech.
The appointment of this Bannon guy is concerning. It also seems, he's brought a bunch of lobbyists in. Wackos like John Bolton are red flags for FP.
I'll hope for the best. Maybe he can get the ball rolling on the good stuff, angry Democratic voters can flush out the crooked elements in their party and then start taking over and, er, Making America Better or something.
They think it's cute to go protest on freeways then complain when they get run over by a truck.
They preach water-saving BS and veganism but don't realize almond milk (which they love) requires much more water than they'd think.
They think a black man getting shot means racism had to be present.
Many of these people are beyond straight up retarded. Like drinking a beer and eating a turkey burger while talking about how they're vegan & gluten free.
They're rare, and I don't think any of the people on the forum I've met are like this.
But they do exist. And there are many. It's quite sad, actually.

I think you're sort of right, and sort of wrong. The liberal stereotype you echo was definitely one of the targets. However, it was over a year of campaigning before Trump ever mentioned blacks, and he misfired badly for weeks if not months in how he spoke about them (not to them: he was talking about blacks to virtually all-white audiences) as uneducated, living in ghettos, etc.
He repeatedly went after Mexicans, women, Muslims in stereotypical and nasty fashion during that same year. There are also recordings of him calling blacks n-- - - s, but they managed to keep them from bwing released. It wasn't dog whistles; it was air horns, and it was every day in his stump speeches.
So, yes, he is and was a racist, sexist, xenophobe, using stereotypes openly to deride many groups. He has not retracted or apologized for any of it, so just because he's not talking about it now doesn't mean anything has changed.
It would be foolish for anyone, especially those of us in his denigrated groups, to pretend he didn't repeatedly denigrate us. It's not a matter of pouting or not getting along; it's a matter of knowing your self-declared enemy.
And it's especially ominous that he's named Steve Bannon as "his" Karl Rove. Not to mention Mike Pence and his crappy rights - denying social agenda. Reince Priebus is completely inexperienced and not a strong enough person to offset that combined steamroller with an agenda.
The other nasty person involved is the son-in-law, who's clearing out what few possibly reasonable voices are around, like Christie and Mike Rogers. Trump is surrounding himself with boot-lickers and people who will use him for their own ends. Constant vigilance.

Bannon is a racist POS. He should be no where near the White House.
Trump ran a racist campaign and won (the Electoral College), so it is not surprising that he will keep him around.

Do all these anti-Trump protesters think that we should have a secure border? If not, do they think we should we just open up our border and let everyone come in? No one likes to say so but the majority of people illegally entering our country across our southern border are generally poor and uneducated, and often desperate. This invites crime. People who enter this country illegally should not be able to obtain drivers licenses, use our schools to educate their children, use our hospital facilities--all at taxpayer expense. People in this country illegally should not have the right to protest in the streets.
I think these are some of the reasons why Trump won. People are fed up with this. And yet very few are willing to say anything about it. Because if they do there'll be fighting in the streets. Where are all the Trump supporters? I don't blame them for keeping a low profile, but these supporters should be mobilized and make themselves heard. I know, all the nuts and racists will come out as well. And that's part of the problem.
Why can't there be satellites in space that can monitor our borders and alert authorities when illegals are entering our country. I want the border secured even if the cost is prohibitive.
One of the things that I hope Trump is successful at is enforcing our laws. Finally.
With all the students demonstrating no one is asking them opposing questions. And why are these students allowed to demonstrate during school hours? Because they get out of school. They wouldn't want to use their free time to demonstrate.
Amazon because the owner owns the Wash Post that has investigated Trump.

Waffle House is another restaurant run by extreme Conservatives who are major donors to right wing causes and candidates. As a matter of fact, 100% of all of their donations went directly to Conservatives. Waffle House’s CEO, Jim Rogers Jr., has been a big supporter of Republican causes for a very long time. In 2006 he joined the finance team for Mitt Romney’s Super PAC, Common Wealth PAC.

Idk what's wrong with people, it makes perfect sense that many large business owners would be conservative and many low income would lean left, dumb to hate on people for it.
