Machines do have stop losses - when a player has won a lot it is programmed not to let that player win any more - from now on during that session the player can only lose - so that's why it's time for him to stop

expert play is to counter a machine's stop loss with your own stop win

machine's have stop wins too - if they've won a lot from the player they are then 𝐝𝐮𝐞 to start paying out nicely

so then expert play calls for you to increase the size of your bet dramatically - you counter the machine's stop win with your own start win

I learned all of this from an expert player at vegascasinotalk.com

it really pays off to listen to the advice of expert gamblers................ 😄

OMG, just when I thought I could not read anything more absurd. MD pulled out all the stops.

The machines were never supposed to be like this. They learned it by watching the table games. In just a few years they will take over Skynet and send a movie star back in time to kill whoever could stop it.

I don't believe his system works. But it doesn't bother me that he is posting it, after all this is a gambling forum and as well even though most everyone put him down he remained relatively calm, collected and polite.

What does bother me is when a Mod uses profanity, harsh or dismissive words to put down a poster.

OnceDear is British, no? He's probably familiar then with Upstairs, Downstairs either the original 1971 or 2010, remake. How does Mr. Hudson deal with guests he doesn't like? Does he start swearing at them or insulting them?

The Mr. Hudson analogy is very apposite. Hudson always cared the utmost about how his and the other servants' actions reflected on the master.

Mods', such as OnceDear's, actions reflect on their masters, in this case the Wizard. And when they use profanity or are in any way less than polite or gracious towards guests it just tarnishes the image of the forum. And it reflects badly on the master, the Wizard, that he would allow such repeated impolite actions from a Mod.

I realize this isn't a typical forum in that the Mods are also posters creating content, but I think Mods should never forget that they are always wearing that Moderator hat, even if they don other hats too.

Let the theme continue.

I'm afraid none of this is true. Here's my lengthy article debunking the above, with a veritable mountain of evidence. That mountain of evidence trumps some random guy on some other web forum who pulled some B.S. out of thin air and has never actually programmed slots. Lots of people on this forum have programmed slots and so we know how they work (the Wizard, me, many others).

When two sides disagree, look at which side has more and better evidence.

BTW, it's necessary to actually read my article before arguing against it. (I say that because experience shows that people won't.)

Ah! I'd wrongly attributed a Lilredrooster quote as being by MDawg.
Apologies to both and to all other members for that clumsy error.
I don't know whether Lilredrooster believed what he posted or whether it was subtle humor.

It did cross my mind that it might have been posted as a joke, but we all know that there are many people who really do believe it...and certainly some impressionable readers could see the post and be influenced. That's why I wanted to link to the truth, even if the misinfo had been posted in jest.

Lilredrooster was tongue-in-cheeking it. I think. Without a doubt. Probably. So no need for knickers twisting.
