Looking at the Dover Downs website, it would appear that the table games are up and running...have any of you been there?

FWIW looks like the blackjack rules are S17,DAS,No surrender--I'll be stopping by this weekend to confirm; if there's anything specific you'd like checked out, let me know.

I'd like to know about the 2 Spanish 21 tables - supposedly they will have the same S17 rules as AC. Only other info is general availability of tables and limits. I assume CSM, but if you find shoe games in the regular limit, that info would be appreciated.

I stopped by DE Park this weekend, and I wasn't impressed with their operation. The table limits were extremely high (all $15/$25 mins at blackjack, $15 mins at roulette, and $25 mins at craps at 10am on a Sunday!). By the time I left after wandering around, they were preparing to open some $10 min blackjack and craps had come down to $10.

On a side note, it seems like all the DE casinos are using plastic-molded chips, which just feel cheap. They don't have the clinking sound like the clay/composite chips do.

The question is, were all the tables busy/full? If so, I can't say I blame them. If not, then thats absurd. It could be that being new casions, they are busy enough to get by with the high limits at the start. Once the newness wears off its sure to come down.

Most probably know:

There are three racinos in Delaware: Delaware Park, Dover Downs, and Harrington. Each is dramatically different from the other--the most dramatic being Delaware Park vis-a-vis Harrington. Where Delaware Park was designed by a DuPont in the figurative DuPont family backyard, Harrington is is the middle of the Delaware State Fairgrounds in lower/slower Delaware not too far from Punkin Chunkin.

Dover Downs seems to occupy the happy medium between the two.

Point is, one can't go to one and reasonably conclude anything about the other (save for the plastic molded chips--I believe this observation to be correct).

That being said, I think it most likely that the lower limits will generally be found in Harrington; the higher limits in Delaware Park. But like the toll road, the limits will depend on the day of the week (I'm sure these revelations shocks noone).

Now, the folks that own Delaware Park also own Ocean Downs (just outside of Ocean City, MD). It remains to be seen how the opening of slots at Ocean Downs will impact the goings-on at Harrington; or if the goings-on bear any relationship to their sister operation at Delaware Park.

Visited Dover Downs yesterday afternoon; what follows is what I observed (with a heavy bias towards BJ):

1. BJ rules are S17, DAS, No surrender
2. I did not see one single CSM; all cards from all games that I observed are dealt from a shoe.
3. Everything there is very manual; for example, there are no electronic billboards at the tables announcing miniumums, rules, etc.--all use colored placards. There were absolutely no i-tables.
3. Lowest BJ minimum at the time was $10 (this was around 5PM yesterday); the dealer said that they do go to $5 but could not tell me when (or if any pattern exists).
5. There is still a large vacant space around 1000sf in the main area; something has to be going there but I can't tell you what.
6. While I didn't count the amount of craps tables, I think there were somewhere between 9-12.
7. The poker room is on the second floor.
8. There is a new slots area called Trackside Slots. This area is on the 4th floor and as the name indicates is trackside (located at the top of the grand stand inside the building). The Blackjack Shufflemaster machines previously located in that area now containing the table games were relocated to this area (FWIW most are at the $5.00 min level).

Can't think of anything else except to say that I noted a billboard on I95 saying that table games are to open on July 18 at Harrahs-Chester.
