My wife and I tried to take advantage of the matching tiers and offers from other casinos. Last month we got our upgrade and we only had matching offers from CET that didn't expire. They were small, 275 free slot play. Some host came by the desk and was there to meet us, since we were converted to Elite status. That idiot didn't even shake me hand. Even my wife noticed that. Supposedly the promo is good for 3 months and no limit. This past week we went back. We had some big offers from CET. They were giving us the runaround. First of all, the woman at the desk said they would never match those offers due to the amount. A host came by and gave us all the excuses. She went to the small office behind the desk with the woman helping us. While they were in there, I asked the other rep at the desk and asked if there is a limit on the matching offers. He said there definitely isn't a amount limit. They came back out and this host tells us she couldn't make the decision and that it will be up to some Executive something person that has the authority. She said that exec would call us the next day. Supposedly they didn't have enough people show up for work due to the snow. That was BS. Obviously, no one called us. I don't care if they don't match it from the beginning, but don't advertise promotions when you can't honor them! Actually I was the one who wanted to try GN for the first time. Seriously, that was our first time there. That is not the way to run a casino. Don't offer promotions!

Awful job by them, firstly each employee isn't even fully aware of the policies, and secondly they aren't living up to what they promised. You have every right to be angry

Ask for a copy of the promotion details, they should have one available. Again as listed above, if they cannot provide one, call NJ DGE.

Even Revel had details on their "Cant Lose" promotion, which they actually did list how you get your losses back in free play over 20 weeks and they still got sued.

The Golden Nugget is a business. The goal of a business is to make a profit. If they evaluated your value to them as a customer and they determined that they could lose money on the deal they are not going to court you as a customer.

Is that a surprise to anyone?

As to the host non- handshake issue you are falling into the trap of "the host is my friend". He is just a tool of the casino to extract money from the customers.

Sorry to be blunt but that is how it is.

That's fine and dandy, they didn't have to offer the matching offer. But they did. That's the problem.

You're funny. Do you really think I cared whether they shake my hand or not? When you're a casino, and one that is trying to get customers, don't you think you should be more courteous to elite card holders? Just that the non handshake incident set off a bit of red flag in regards to the way they are running things. I know it's a game. They are nice to extract money from us. I never even request a host anywhere anyway. So, to you, them not honoring their matching offers promotion is OK? If that's the case, we will always disagree on that.

That determination must be made before the extension of the offer. Once the offer was made, there should have been no going back.

Hey en11871,

I know a couple people in the general counsel's office at Landry's. Is it cool if I tell them about this issue? Not sure what they can/will do, but they're good folks...

While you're at it, could you please check on the Gemaco card case, too?
