Hi all, long time lurker and big fan of the wizard sites. Had to break my silence on the forums as i have a trip to PR coming up and am having trouble getting a good opinion on the top casinos in San Juan area for blackjack. If possible i'd like to stay at the same hotel as the casino i plan to play at. Any advice? Thanks!

thanks for the reply! Hoping someone has been out there recently, the hotels advertise "casino" and put up nice pics, but very little info on the 'net on the actual scene...

I stayed at the Marriott in San Juan on Condado Beach. The hotel was VERY nice, and the casino was pretty good size. It was the nicest of the casinos I saw in San Juan. Honestly, don't remember much about the blackjack, though I do recall playing there. There was also a dumpier casino about a block down on the other side of the street, that had low limits ($5 i'm pretty sure). It was ok and I recall winning some $$$ there.

Other than going into the Old Town, we never really left the Condado beach area, so I don't know if there are other casinos elsewhere in PR.

I was in a couple of San Juan casinos years ago but don't recall much, so I can't give much help about top casinos. Just thought I would pass along one disappointment I had. My most recent trip to (through) San Juan, I just rode a shuttle bus between the airport and the cruise ship terminal. I wanted to pick up a San Juan souvenir casino chip for my collection, so I decided to play a little in the casino located in the airport on my way home, since I didn't have time to get to any of the others on that island. Unfortunately, that casino was closed for renovations (in November '09), and I was told it had been closed for months. I couldn't even see evidence of work in progress.
