Another bad month for Revel with less than 15M in Gaming Revenue. The Atlantic Club (Old Hilton) is one of the biggest gainers and is right behind Revel. Looks like their focus on players is paying off. They are getting many good reviews on other forums, while Revel continues to get negative reviews. It is refreshing to see people speaking with their gambling dollars.
Quote: ahiromuRevel took a loss on "other" slot machines. Very little cash going through them, any idea what they are?
Revel is giving a RIDICULOUS amount of free play to players, thinking that it will attract the casual gambler to the property. Of course, the problem is the service is generally lousy, so why would the casual gambler want to stay around other than for the free play???
I'm glad to see Atlantic Club taking the right steps to retain players. Now if they just lowered their room rates on weekends, they'd be doing fantastic...

Showboat is the highest of only two casinos with improvement on table games for YEAR-TO-DATE ENDED JUNE 2012 VERSUS 2011. The smoking theory may be accurate. People are going to REVEL to see the place and then drifting over to Showboat where they are free to smoke.

They are also going to Showboat for casual dining at affordable prices. Revels cheapest place is 2 tacos and a soda $20.

It's one thing to pay big money for incredible food that you can't get anywhere else, it's another to pay double or triple for ordinary food that often isn't as good a El Gordo. It really ticks you off.

And not all the tacos are corn, but they don't post which are which.
He said that a hotels revenue is composed of 4 factors. Hotel, Gambling, Entertainment and Food/Beverages.
While gambling declined, the overall PROFIT for the first three months of 2012 compared to the first three
months of 2011, is UP 17%! 2nd quarter results were not yet available.

This doesn't surprise me a lot. It seems like Atlantic City is charging a LOT more for things, and offering less in terms of comps and offers (Revel being the exception). My winter offers this year were not as strong, and while Resorts has been courting me, there are no free slot play offers; just free hotel rooms, which are essentially a fixed cost.
One of the casinos took a loss on Pai Gow tiles. Never seen that before.
Revel should be fine. $15m is a respectable number, and they should continue to grow revenue once they build a player database.
Quote: teddysSome observations from the numbers: Caesars paid out a $1m bonus on the Three Card Poker Six-card bonus and took a loss, but 3CP play has SKYROCKETED at all Caesars properties in AC. That promotion has really paid off for them. Hats off to whomever thought of that one.
They also increased the number of 3CP tables by a ton, and lowered nearly all the minimums, even on Saturday night, to $5 (though realistically they expect each player to play $20 a hand). This will be a huge contrast to all other casinos where 3CP is $10 minimums at most times. It does go to show that lower minimums will bring in a batch of players never seen before. I imagine Las Vegas has a similar effect, though probably lessened because Vegas has more competition.

It wasn't from me, that's for sure. All kidding aside, this is a bit surprising, but if the trend continues, they'll have to investigate a collusion between player/dealer. This is one of the few games, while difficult, would not be impossible to pull off successfully.

I completely disagree with you on this. THIS IS A NEW CASINO! They should be tearing up the summer months without question. Instead, they were GIVING HOTEL ROOMS AWAY over the 4th of July weekend, along with $50 per day food credits and $75 in free play. I know this because I got an email from them on it, and they have me wagering 1.25 on Video Poker (they wouldn't track my PGP play because the system was down and the pit supervisor was quite rude in telling me that).
Oh by the way, their customer service is lousy, everything is way overpriced, and they have little regard for what players actually want. Combine that with bad to horrible odds on most games, and you have a recipe for Atlantic Club overtaking them soon. ATLANTIC CLUB!!!
