Greetings,

Still new to these forums but I love all the information that is shared. As from a previous post I recently moved to PHL and am looking for a new home casino. I live a few miles from Valley Forge but I've had zero luck on their slots, VP, and the BJ/craps is always at $15 or higher. Yes, I'm a very casual gambler; I enjoy it. But it's hard to enjoy 95% payout VP.

I do travel to Vegas at least twice a year and am currently Pearl with MGM but have no status with Total Rewards. Will gambling at Harrahs Philadelphia count towards status for Vegas? Do tier credits work the same or is it a different system. I am primarily a Bonus Poker VP player.

I appreciate all responses. Thanks.

Brett

PS - I'm a casual gambler on this forum but i still feel 99% more knowledgeable then most at valley forge. I cringe watching people play 6/5 VP!! Thanks for all the tips!

Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but isn't Sapphire MGM's entry level? It would be the equivalent to TR Gold...

Anyways, yes Total Rewards will get you your benefits in Vegas, but if you like decent VP, you'll shutter at the VP in Vegas. I did find a "decent" Bonus Poker machine with progressives, but it's still not great, like a 97% variable payout. The big thing you'll get is free room offers to stay in Vegas. If you go out there a lot, it could be worth it.

Further, if you want to go to AC, you can play at 4 properties there and get credits that add up there. Again, game options are not the best there either, but they do travel. Speaking of travel, there are a few good CET properties with great VP options (like Horseshoe Southern Indiana or Tunica Roadhouse). I personally rack up my Tier Credits there and enjoy the benefits everywhere else.

Good catch. Correction: I'm currently Pearl at MGM.

Looks like I'll stick to Harrahs properties if I want my credits to travel better. I use a website vpfree2.com to help find great VP payouts. Very helpful. Last trip I ended up at TI playing. 9/6 JB .50cent per credit machine. It was great!

Also, are tier credits valued the same in Philadelphia as in Vegas? $10 in VP = 1 tier credit?

Yes, Tier credits FOR SLOT MACHINES AND VP ONLY are figured the same from property to property. Slots, 5:1, VP, 10:1.

What varies are table games and their variations. For example, Shufflemaster BJ machines with the fake dealers at most properties earn 45:1; in Tunica, they are set to the VP rate of 10:1. There are some machines in KC with 6/5 JoB that are set to the slot rate. And table games remains one of the biggest mysteries in the TR system.

Yes tier credits can be used all over the country. AC actually has some very good $1 VP for JoB at the 9/6 paytable and the one at Ballys comes with a progressive royal. In Philly the best machines I found were JoB at the 8/6 and 9/5 levels.

Actually heading down to Harrah's Philadelphia tonight for the first time. I'll be looking for 8/6, 9/5 VP and a couple beers!
