She hates it there. The food, the people,
the oppressive heat, the unavailability

it gets to you. The corruption, the

have something to do with it.

Did you know they actually ended up modifying one of the songs in newer editions of the movie? There's a line in the opening song "where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face, it's barbaric but hey, it's home." They replaced it with "where it's hot and immense and the heat is intense" clearly sung by someone else.

I took exactly one cab ride when I lived there and it was like a roller coaster. No thanks, I'll just walk or take the subway from now on. Way cheaper that way, anyway.
I never really felt unsafe while I was there, though, but I guess I mostly stayed in the touristy and middle-class areas.

It fits my standards. Higher pay, free roam chickens, recycling, the day off even though it's based on religion is at least a nod to employees over corporate, community participation and it sounds like they go out of the way for their employees.
One religious thing from their founder unfortunately mars them. Otherwise this is the kind of profit company I'm all about.

This got me curious about IQs, and according to this study, seven of the top 10 countries with the highest average IQ are Asian.
And here's a study showing breakdown in the U.S. by state. The highest ranking Southern state is Virginia at #16, and the rest of the South is #29 or lower.

I have thought about making an IQ thread for a while. The idea of quantifying intellectual capability is interesting to me for some reason. However I don’t really think it means very much in terms of success or happiness.
At age 12 or 13 I had a professional IQ test done at school and it came back as 136. I feel like 15 years later it has probably gone down with all I’ve put my brain through.

Are you suggesting a demographic reason for this? Less Asians in the south?

Not sure about Hawaii but obviously the admission of criminal invaders being welcome has hurt CA. And anyone with common sense understands once you pass San Francisco and head north the average goes up 10+ points.
Of course I was just kidding, lol, like Ozzy, I generalize about American states and subsections of them.
Because after all, it’s not racism if you use generalization.

I agree, And blocking traffic IMHO is not "non-violent." Nor is disrupting business. Also IMHO we are at a danger zone where it is assumed the cops must be in the wrong.

See the brave, lonely, unarmed man in white.
See the big, armored, armed vehicles.
See how the tanks are stopped.
Run, young man, run.
No, because I matter. They killed here yesterday, shooting peaceful protestors. They will not kill again today.
Yes, they will kill! They did yesterday!
And, if they crush me, they will give me more power in death than I will ever know in life. I am unbowed by the State, because I am free. But they will not crush my spirit and that of millions with me in this.
And the tanks stopped.
The identity and fate of the man is unknown. Some say he was executed later. Some say he lives on.
The image itself is censored from all Chinese media, and not taught in their schools. But the protest caused a monumental change in Chinese internal relations over time. It demonstrates the power of the will over the power of armament.
All lost on you, I'm sure, since you believe in power at the point of a gun. The irony is that it makes the case for less government more eloquently than any words or laws or even Constitutional language, supposedly a right-wing priority. But since it doesn't fit in your worldview, you don't get the point.

What is ironic is that you say it makes the case for less government when you switched to the party of big government, the party favored by the PC and speech code crowd. The party marching towards the socialism that this kid is protesting against.

Words mean nothing. The Republicans' spending record over the last 40 years makes a mockery of their claims about wanting smaller government.
